The MDN network consists of integrated adjacent channel deletion and bandpass filters along with the appropriate splitters
and directional taps for headend applications. The unit removes a scrambled channel, allows for descrambling, and facilitates the reinsertion of the same channel to the cable feed. The device splits the incoming signal selectively deleting only
the desired channel from the cable feed. It then utilizes an adjacent channel bandpass filter to permit a clean insertion of
the reprocessed channel back onto the cable system. All RF connections are internal to the unit with no additional wiring
or power requirements, permitting easy and quick installation.
Features:
• Clean insertion of new information
• Passband to 550 MHz
• Factory wired for quick installation
• Low insertion loss
Applications:
• MDU, motel, hotel, school, hospital and business
• Removal of selected channel
• Television reprocessing

Single TV Channel Reprocessing Network
MDN
MDN Series
The MDN network removes a selected channel from the incoming CATV feed
so it can be reprocessed and added back on line. This is done at the entry to a
multiple-dwelling unit (MDU), a motel, hotel, school, hospital or business. The
reprocessing can consist of batch descrambling, scrambling, channel conversion or a combination of these. MDN networks incorporate a channel deletion
filter corresponding to the channel to be reprocessed and an adjacent channel
bandpass filter. These filters delete the old channel information and insure clean
insertion of new information, respectively. All MDN units are delivered fully
wired except for scramblers, descramblers and converters. Available for channels 2-116.

Description:
The 6211LP/HP are a series of lowpass and highpass filters that are factory
assembled networks, consisting of channel deletion filters and custom designed
lowpass and highpass filters. The combination results in a "brickwall" filter
eliminating blocks of channels while preserving adjacent channels of interest.
The primary applications include deleting blocks of channels for re-insertion
purposes, while maintaining the integrity of close adjacent channels. These
networks allow for maximum use of existing cable spectrum. The operating

7964 (Contiguous) Series
Filter networks for suppressing an arbitrary number of contiguous channels are
supplied to order. For only a few channels, a series connection of individual
channel deletion filters is used. For a large number of contiguous channels, a
special network is used. It's components consist of a "Brickwall" lowpass and
highpass filter and a pair of specially designed bandsplitters. For an
intermediate number of contiguous channels, two single channel deletion filters
establish the "Brickwall" ends while a less selective network deletes the middle
of the specified stopband. Available for channels 2-116.

QAM Multi-Channel Deletion Filter Networks
17900 Series (Contiguous) Multi-Channel Deletion Network
Deletes a block of consecutive QAM channels - for the purpose of reinserting
new programming within that block - without disrupting adjacent QAM (or
analog) channels performance.
Each deletion network is comprised of highly-versatile filter components.
This versatility results in deletion networks that use less filter components to
delete X number of channels vs. other multi-channel deletion networks on the
market that consist of "daisy-chained" X number of single channel deletion
filters.
Typical 5-Channel Configuration
Main advantages of using less filter components:
• Less cost to the customer.
• Superior performance - due to less component interaction.
(i.e.- Better Group Delay, Flatness, etc.)
Other features:
• Preserves all other QAM (or analog) channels from (5-1000) MHz.
• Available in any number of contiguous channel configurations.
• Single Panel Mount - Suitable for rack, wall or table installation.
• Fast Turnaround - Typically available to ship within 1 week ARO.

against moisture. The traps can be experimentally adjusted to reduce out-of-band
interference whose frequency may not be precisely known. Each tuning screw
controls the frequency of a separate, sharp notch which may be used independently or synchronously to give the notch and bandwidth shown. For a nominal
extra charge, units can be tuned and marked to specified frequency.

3469 Series
Series 3469 are sound carrier traps used to reduce sound carrier levels. These
are narrow band notch filters which are tunable with a self-locking screwdriver
slot. Controlled sound reduction with minimum impact on color is achieved by
tuning into the sound carrier from a higher frequency (clockwise slot rotation.)
The 3469 can be factory preset to customer specified frequency.

TVRO Interference Filters
7893D Series
The Series 7893D C-Band bandpass filter is installed between a TVRO feedhorn
and the LNA or LNB to suppress strong out-of-band interference caused by
marine or airport radar systems. Coastal and marine navigational radar
frequencies (2.9-3.65 GHz) are just below the TVRO band and frequently
wipe-out transponders 1-5 in TVRO's installed near harbors. The airport altimeter band (4.25-4.40 GHz) will affect channels 22-24 at TVRO sites near airports.
The model 7893D interference filter operates at RF before down conversion.
This prevents the generation of undesirable mixer products and receiver "desensitization" due to strong out of band signals.

TVRO Interference Filters
For Multifeed Applications
13961 Interference filter
13961 Series
The Series 13961 waveguide bandpass filter is specifically designed for use in
multifeed antenna applications. It virtually eliminates interference caused by navigational communications (radar) of commercial and military aircraft, as well as
coastal and marine vessels operating at frequencies above and below the C-band.
The unit is installed between the LNA or LNB and the feedhorn. This lightweight,
low profile filter is ideal for multifeed applications which require side-by-side
placement of filters (adequate radome clearance is required). Since the unit does
the filtering at the C-band frequencies, LNA and
LNB overload is prevented and overall picture quality is improved.

Special Applications
Satcom Transmit/Reject Filters
Series 12086
The series 12086 is a family of transmit rejection filters specifically addressing
the SATCOM (C-band) market. The device is installed between the antenna and
the LNA in the receive segment of satellite earth terminals. It is also used in Cband transceiver applications to isolate up-link and down-link signals.
The unit offers extremely low loss, typically less than 0.04 dB on the receive
signals, while providing a high degree of transmit rejection, ranging from 50 to
80 dB, depending upon the model. The construction of these units is 100% dip
brazed aluminum with a military grade chromate finish. This allows for years of
high performance operation. Optional paint and label configurations are available for OEM requirements. All units come standard with WR-229 grooved

IF Filters
Filters for Second (or Final) IF
75 Ohms, Type F Connectors, Cypher Compatible
Notch filters in the final IF stage suppress light to medium TI,
and will often cure heavy TI, including intermittent "wipeouts." 4 GHz TI‑carriers downconvert to ±10 MHz from the
final IF center frequency and are suppressed with notch filters
tuned to these IF frequencies. Single frequency series 6367
notch filters are available for all IF bands in current use. Correspondingly, series 4616 tunable, switchable filter assemblies
contain both notches. For the popular 70 MHz IF band, low
cost, fixed-tuned notches are available for 60 MHz & 80 MHz
(5KVseries).

Remarks
All Models AC/DC Passing
TI is cleared by tuning the notch to mid-channel (blanks the picture). Then
search slowly right and then left until TI drops to low level. Then fine tune for
optimum condition. 8976-2 has two independent notches for double loss or two
carriers (±10 MHz).
Multiple Notch Filters
These filters are used for multiple receiver TVRO's and are placed before the
splitter so that they clear TI for all subsequent receivers.

Uplink/Downlink Filters & Diplexers
For Commercial & Military Bands
9349, 9350 & 14560 Series
Models 9349, 9350 and 14560 are complementary filters used to isolate the
receive (downlink) and transmit (uplink) bands, providing suppression of any
interference these bands may cause to each other. Each filter passes the full allocated downlink and uplink frequency bands while offering a high level
of isolation from each other. In addition to offering the necessary level of rejection, they maintain a low insertion loss and an excellent VSWR over the full
operating band, facilitating minimal impact on system operation.

14510 Series
The model 14510 diplexer is used to combine the downlink and uplink bands to
allow for simultaneous transmit and receive operation. Each portion of the diplexer has integrated bandpass filters, matched for optimal system performance.
By combining the individual bandpass filters into a single diplexer, only a single
waveguide run on the transmit tower is required, reducing cost and improving
signal quality.
