Outer Border
•Cut (4) 8½" x LOF strips. Trim two strips to measure
8½" x 79½". Trim two strips to measure 8½" x 83½".
24640 S OR 24640 P: Fabric B (stripe)
Inner Border
•Cut (8) 3" x WOF strips. Sew strips together (end to
end) to make one continuous strip. Subcut (2) 3" x
67½" strips. Subcut (2) 3" x 74½" strips.
24641 M: Fabric C (maroon floral print)
Block A
•Cut (5) 2½" x WOF strips. Subcut (75) 2½" squares.

BLOCK A Instructions
1. Unit 1. Referring to Diagram 1 and noting orientation
of the pieces, sew two 2⅞" Fabric G (ecru tonal) HSTs
to one 2½" Fabric C (maroon floral print) square for
Unit 1. Sew one 4⅞" Fabric E (blue sprigs print) HST
along the diagonal edge of Unit 1 to complete Unit
1 square. Unit 1 should measure 4½" x 4½". Make a
total of four Unit 1.

2. Block A Row 1. Referring to Diagram 2 and noting
orientation of the pieces, sew one 2½" x 4½" Fabric
G (ecru tonal) between two Unit 1 for Row 1. Block
A Row 1 should measure 4½" x 10½". Make a total of

of the rows, sew Row 1 and Row 2 together for Unit
A. Unit A should measure 4½" square. Make a total of

6. Block B Row 2. Referring to Diagram 10 and noting
orientation of the pieces, sew one 2½" Fabric G (ecru
tonal) square between two 2½" x 4½" Unit HG rectangles for Row 2. Block B Row 2 should measure 2½" x
10½".

7. Assemble Block B. Referring to Diagram 11 and noting
orientation of the rows, sew three rows together as
follows: Row 1, Row 2, Row 1 for Block B. Block B
should measure 10½" x 10½".

Full-Size Quilt Top Assembly
1. Sashing Rows. Referring to Diagram 12, sew six 2½"
Fabric E (blue sprigs print) squares and five 2½" x
10½" Fabric G (ecru tonal) rectangles together as
follows: beginning with a Fabric E square, alternate
and sew squares and rectangles together, ending with a
square for Sashing Row. Sashing Row should measure
2½" x 62½". Make a total of seven Sashing Rows.

2. Block Row 1. Referring to Diagram 13 and noting
orientation of the pieces, sew three Block A, two Block
B, and six 2½" x 10½" Fabric G (ecru tonal) rectangles together as follows: rectangle, Block A, rectangle,
Block B, rectangle, Block A, rectangle, Block B, rectangle, Block A, rectangle for Block Row 1. Block row
should measure 10½" x 62½". Make a total of three
Block Row 1.

1, Sashing Row, Block Row 2, Sashing Row for Quilt
Center. Quilt Center should measure 62½" x 74½".
5. Inner Border. Sew one 3" x 74½" Fabric B (stripe)
strip to each long side of the Quilt Center. Sew one
3" x 67½" Fabric B (stripe) strip to each short side of
the Quilt Center. Quilt Center should measure 67½" x
79½".
6. Outer Border. Sew one 8½" x 79½" Fabric A (large
floral print) strip to each long side of the Quilt Center.
Sew one 8½" x 83½" Fabric A (large floral print) strip
to each short side of the Quilt Center. Quilt Top should
measure 83½" x 95½".
Full-Size Quilt Finishing
1. If backing is not already prepared, sew three 91" x
WOF Fabric I (backing) strips together along the selvage edges with a 1" seam. Trim seam to ½" and press
to one side. Trim backing to measure 91" x 103".
2. Place the quilt top top right side up on the top of the
batting and the wrong side of the backing.

3. Baste the layers together and quilt as desired. Trim the
backing and batting even with the quilt top.
4. Sew the ten 2½" x WOF Fabric H (pink tonal) strips
together (end to end) using 45° seams to make a continuous strip. Fold strip in half lengthwise (with wrong
sides together) and press. Bind as desired.

follows: Fabric E square, Fabric G rectangle, Fabric E

Row should measure 2½" x 38½". Make a total of five

54½".
6. Outer Border. Sew one 7½" x 54½" Fabric A (large
floral print) strip to each long side of the Quilt Center.
Sew one 7½" x 56½" Fabric A (large floral print) strip
to each short side of the Quilt Center. Quilt Top should
measure 56½" x 68½".

Sofa-Size Quilt Finishing
1. If backing is not already prepared, sew two 64" x
WOF Fabric I (backing) strips together along the selvage edges with a 1" seam. Trim seam to ½" and press
to one side. Trim backing to measure 64" x 76".
2. Place the quilt top top right side up on the top of the
batting and the wrong side of the backing.
3. Baste the layers together and quilt as desired. Trim the
backing and batting even with the quilt top.
4. Sew the seven 2½" x WOF Fabric H (pink tonal) strips
together (end to end) using 45° seams to make a continuous strip. Fold strip in half lengthwise (with wrong
sides together) and press. Bind as desired.
