the GNAC Tournament.
The Anchormen posted an 8-5 overall record
in 2007-08, including an eighth place finish at the GNAC Tournament. Under his tutelage, Derek Jensen was the GNAC
Champion, the first RIC golfer ever to accomplish this feat, placing first among a field of 39 competitors.
He led the Anchormen to the greatest season in program history in 2006-07 as the club recorded a 14-3 overall record
and a second place finish at the inaugural GNAC Tournament.

Meet the Assistant Coach
Assistant Coach Gene St. Pierre
Gene St. Pierre enters his fourth
season as the assistant men’s golf
coach. He assists Head Coach Greg
Gammell with all facets of the
RIC men’s golf program including administering practices and
recruiting.
St. Pierre, who also serves as
the college’s photographer and videographer, also uses
video and photographic equipment to help analyze the
student-athlete’s swings in order for them to improve as
golfers.
“Over the past few years I’ve spent a lot of time
mentoring and training high school students and RIC
students in photography,” St. Pierre said. “I look forward
to expanding that experience to include working closely with the student-athletes and helping them reach
their full potential as intercollegiate golfers.”
He is an avid and skilled golfer with extensive youth sports coaching.
St. Pierre earned a bachelor’s degree from Rhode Island College in 1977.
He resides in Cranston, Rhode Island with his wife Susanne ’77. They have two sons, Gregory (25) and
