What’s the difference between Monola and Canola?
Monola is a specialty Canola variety that has been bred for
a unique oil profile which is healthier than other alternatives
commonly used for prolonged cooking at high temperature.
In the paddock, there’s really no difference – Monola
varieties are competitive with Canola when it comes to
yield, oil content, maturity, height and Blackleg resistance.
At harvest time, you’ll have the reassurance of secure
market options, and you will receive a premium payment
for every tonne of Monola you harvest.
The main difference between Monola and Canola is that
Monola’s oil profile remains stable during extended use at
high temperature, making it ideal for end uses such as
fast food frying. And the taste of fries cooked in Monola
has been rated more highly than other alternatives in
tests conducted by Food Science Australia. Many popular
restaurant chains have introduced Monola oil to their
kitchens - if you have eaten at KFC recently you have
already enjoyed the benefits of Monola oil.
