THE HISTORY OF CHEHAW COUNCIL
Items Relating to Camp Chehaw in 1940
Six members of Boy Scout Troop No. 21 of Americus, who attended the Chehaw Council camp near
Albany last week, qualified for the coveted camper’s emblem. Frank Easterlin, Jr. was patrol leader
and other members of the patrol were John Jennings, Bob Gatewood, Billy Elam Bowen and Billy
Horne. Steve Pace, Jr. an Eagle Scout, accompanied them as counselor. Troop No. 21 is sponsored by
Americus Kiwanis Club and Charlie Hogg is Scoutmaster. Four of the boys are shown in the above
picture, take at Camp Chehaw.
