You are invited to join more than 172 countries and
7,000 cities for Earth Hour on March 19 from 8:30
to 9:30 p.m. During that hour, the City will turn off
the lights to the Lake Eola Fountain and SEE Art
Orlando sculptures and any non essential lights in
our City owned buildings to raise awareness about
energy conservation and climate change.
We are encouraging local residents and businesses
to join the movement and turn off all non essential
lights in homes and places of business. This event
is part of Orlando’s continued efforts to be one of
the most sustainable cities in the nation and will
kickoff the City’s Spring into Sustainability
program tied to Earth Month and engaging more
citizens to help conserve the environment for future
generations to come.
Leading up to and throughout Earth Month in
April, there are many opportunities for local
residents, families and businesses to get involved.
