Christians Rescuing Youth From Sex Slavery
Aslan Academy - Report from IDAHO below:
As told to IMCNews
Tonight as our nation rests, we
offer only 400 beds for rescued
victims of human trafficking.
Meanwhile, over 100,000 children
are exploited here annually. Those
beds merely represent places to
sleep—there is a distinct lack
of safe homes, particularly for
minors, offering long term health
care, education and the love of
Christ. Seeing this injustice reign
in the United States, the founders of
Aslan Christian Academy (ACA)
in Wilder, Idaho are seeking to change the face of our nation.
According to a representative of the Faith Alliance Against
Human Trafficking (FAAST), the kind of care planned at ACA
answers a desperate need in our nation. Tonight, there are
10,000’s of girls needing rescuing care in the U.S.
Jim Staples is the President of Aslan Christian Academy,
and the original driving force behind the vision. A missionary
from Liberia originally introduced Jim to the concept of child
slavery. Jim met the missionary in 2009, and in 2011, he learned
of a situation in which sixteen children had been sold by their
parents to a trafficker. Though the trafficker was stopped
at the border and arrested, the missionary knew that it was
only a matter of time before the
children were sold again to support
their families. Lacking funds to
purchase the children themselves,
the missionaries are helpless to
save them.
Jim knew that going to Liberia
was out of the question. It was
not the call on his life, or on Pat,
his wife. Jim started to research
the USA problem with human
trafficking. Jim called an FBI
officer lady in San Francisco. She
said the problem is out of control.
The traffickers are electronically smart, they are fast and very
quiet. She said when we rescue girls, they are given to family
services but we don’t know what happens to them from there.
She said that a shelter like he had in mind is greatly needed and
encouraged Jim not to give up on his vision. She said, “It won’t
be easy. And, if it gets difficult, don’t give up.”
Soon after Jim talked to her, he and his Granddaughter
Lauren sat down and came up with a plan for a school and
care facility for girls rescued from human trafficking. Lauren

Victory for Religious Freedom and Prayer
National Day of Prayer - Colorado Springs, CO, November 24, 2014
In the Denver Post, Wednesday, Oct.
29, 2014, reporter Ishaan Tharoor for the
Washington Post, wrote a report on Pope
Francis’ recent address to the Pontifical
Academy of Sciences. This article states
that the Pope appeared to endorse Big
Bang cosmology, by saying there was no
contradiction between believing in God
as well as prevailing scientific theories.
According to Tharoor, the Pope went on to
say,” God is not a divine being (emphasis
added) or a magician, but the Creator who
brought everything to life.” “Evolution in
nature is not inconsistent with the notion
of creation, because evolution requires the
creation of beings that evolve.”
This article also states that over the past 60 years, since Pope
Pius XII, the Catholic Church has espoused belief in Theistic
Evolution. Also, in a 2006 Vatican news report, the Catholic Church
distanced itself from “intelligent design”, in which it stated that this
should not be taught in schools as science.
However, what the Catholic Church does insist is that the
emergence of humans supposes a willful act of God, and man cannot
be seen as only the product of evolution.
What I have presented above is a condensed version of the
entire article. In my opinion, the Pope is
endorsing both Theistic Evolution and
Progressive Creationism. But what is even
more disturbing is for Pope Francis to say,
“God is not a divine being, etc.” If this is an
accurate quote, then this statement is clearly
blasphemous, since one of God’s essential
attributes is that He is Divine. I would hope
that the Pope’s statement was misquoted,
and that it may have been something like,
‘God is not just a divine magician...etc.’
In any case, it is indeed saddening
that the authoritative position of Catholic
Church has become entrenched in the
acceptance of theistic evolution as a compromise for the accurate
interpretation of the Genesis Creation account. Apparently, the
Catholic authorities have completely ignored the numerous creation
publications, which clearly refute theistic evolution as an acceptable
alternative to the Scriptural account of creation.
A true Christian knows that God’s Word, as communicated to
us in Scripture, is always accurate and true. Since the inspired Word
of God was directed to humans under the preservation of the Holy
Spirit, God said precisely what He meant to say, which was recorded
with total accuracy. The Genesis account of creation is factual
history, not just a narrative subject to reinterpretation.

Monday October 27, 2014
Dr. Harper: I’m Dr. Anthony Harper here with
InterMountain Christian News Hour and outreach
of the InterMountain Christian Newspaper making a
difference.
And it’s a great commentary, so check out our
website at imcnews.org where you can learn more
about this radio program. At the top left there’s a
banner for InterMountain Christian News hour.
And today we are talking about Israel. I have my
guest Rabbi Levin from New York City.
Thank you, Rabbi Levin for joining me today.
Rabbi Levin: Well thank you it’s an honor to be
with you once again.
Dr. Harper: Yes, and with you as well. We both
love Israel. We are concerned of course about what
they’ve been going through. A lot of terrorism. And
you would like to share a message for Christian
leaders about what will bring security, what will
bring protection from that terrorism in Israel.
Rabbi Levin: Well, that’s absolutely right. I’m
not speaking just on my own behalf. I’m reflecting
the views first of all as a spokesperson for the Torah
Values of the Rabbinical Alliance of America, which
comprises 850 Rabbis. It is a 75 year old organization.
I am actually representing the views of Orthodox Jews
whether they live in New York, Georgia or around the
globe. We always draw the connection of terrorism or
war against Israel and the practice of immorality as a
cause of these tragedies.
We note back to biblical times the instructions
by the Almighty that proceeded the Jewish people
arriving in Israel, that if we will practice the activities
of the Canaanite nations that preceeded the Jewish
people in the Land of Israel, God clearly tells us, in
what you refer to as the Old Testament, that He will
vomit us out as He did to the nations that preceded
us. These activites included licentious, lascivious and
promiscuous activities in areas of intimate relations
(whether it was homosexuality, or rape or adultery
or pornography, or any sort of negative activity in
the areas of intimacy), which should be conducted
in a Holy manner. And thus, when we see the state of
Israel, its government not being made up of religious
leaders, the top leadership is always secular.
It pains us greatly that the governmental
leadership of Israel more often than not, have opposed
the Biblical religious values of chastity, modesty,
holiness and self control.
In America and Europe there is a great deal of
adultery and the very laws prohibiting adultery have
been struck down. We have also observed the rise of
the militant homosexual agenda and the nation wide
indoctrination of children via sex ed curricula taught
throughout the country emphasizing the equality of
homosexuality and the heterosexual nuclear family
and of course, the viewing of pornography.
All of these things unfortunately, are also
emulated in a Holy Land that seeks to imitate the
Western’s “Values” and the Western “Liberalism.”
Therefore it is very, very obvious to us Dr. Harper. It’s
obvious to us that this is the cause because God tells
us in the Old Testament, in the Bible. He says, “Your
tent should be Holy and if I find licentiousness, and
promiscuity, I will turn back from you.” The meaning
is very obvious. I will leave you to contend with
warfare, with terrorism, and you will pay a stiff price.
It’s painful that the leadership does not understand
this on their own.
Therefore the cause and effect is very obvious to
us; because G-d foretold it in the Old Testament book
of Leviticus. He said: “Your camp should be Holy..I
will move away from you.”
And here is where I come to the point and why
I am so grateful you have given me this opportunity
to speak to Christian leaders as well as Christian
followers, good faithful family people. The
Evangelical Community which is tens of millions
strong in America, supporters of Israel, especially
Christians United for Israel, led by Pastor John
Hagee, to whom I’m making this personal appeal, the
leadership of his organization, to Christian ministers
across the land, and to good family people: You have
a tremendous influence because you are the strongest
supporters of the Israeli Government worldwide. And
you support them not only through the politicians that
you elect here in America, not only through financial
contributions, not only by encouraging the American
Government to be generous in supporting Israel’s
needs militarily, etc. But you also support them to
the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars and maybe
even into the billions with your steadfast tourism of
the Land of Israel. I’m pleading with you to please
see this tremendous paradox of the wonderful things
that Israel does that we all approve of and share and
applaud.
At the same time, please realize the tremendous
de-sanctification that’s right, de-sanctification of the
Holy Land that has been occurring with greater and
greater frequencies in the land of Israel. Frequently
they also have curricula in which they encourage
students with regard to homosexual activity. They
also have desecrations of homosexual marches in
various cities, including in Jerusalem, the Holy City
of the World. They also have a huge amount of
pornography and abort thousands of preborn babies
per year.
Pictured above bottom right in black with hat: Rabbi Levin at a
Stand Up For Religious Freedom Rally on Wall Street in New
York City, March 2012.
When the Orthodox Jew, such as myself, try to
approach the leadership we are discounted. We are
looked merely as second hand, second level, second
grade citizens. However, if Pastor Hagee and others
would look squarely into the faces of the leaders of the
State of Israel and tell them, “With all you’re doing
with your military, and all of your goodness, you are
shooting yourself in the foot because you continue to
de-sanctify the land, to ignore God’s commandments
on morality” and “you are hurting us, the religious
Evangelicals.” “We are paying to see this desecration
of the Holy Land.”
And if you do this both verbally and by having
many, many documents, Petitions, addressed to the
Israeli Government and signed not only by thousands
of religious leaders of the Evangelical communities,
but by millions of evangelical Christians, family
people, good God fearing people, the results would
ultimately be, that the Israeli Government will
perceive they can no longer get a free ride.
And by doing this, you the religious Christian
Leader and follower will be assuring yourselves
the Grace of God for you and your families. As an
insurance policy for long life and health for you, your
children and your grandchildren because you would
be standing up for the sanctification of the Holy Land.
Dr. Harper: Well, you know Rabbi Levin that
is so crucial. I have been there in Israel recently
and was there even last year on President Obama’s
trip to remind people of 2 Chronicles 7:14. And we
were talking about that scripture and people don’t
remember what it is. But it says, “If my people which
are called by my name will humble themselves and
pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked
ways, then will I hear from heaven and forgive their
sins and heal their land.”
And as we know Rabbi Levin it is conditional
that we turn from wicked ways and you wanted to
expand about that, which you did. It is that wicked
ways incorporate the promotion of homosexual
relationships which God hates. He hates the killing,
the taking of innocent life. Children are being
murdered in abortion and elsewhere elderly are being
murdered too through this called Euthanasia. You also
mentioned pornography is a real problem in Israel.
We’re doing a special story about Human
Trafficking, Sexual Slavery. I believe that’s a problem
in Israel as well as in America.
Rabbi Levin: Okay, I’m not that aware of
statistics but it wouldn’t surprise me if there was a
certain amount of that happening.
Dr. Harper: Yes.
Rabbi Levin: That’s why you serve as such a
vital role in both informing the Christian community
of the facts about the de-sanctification of Israel while
encouraging Evangelicals to speak truth to Israeli
leadership.
There is a Western-like Liberalization in Israel
today which is counter to much of G-d’s word, in
terms of holiness and Biblical morality. Israel is
identical to the West neo-paganism embracing every
fort of immoral behavior as well as baby killing.
Dr. Harper: Yes. You know God is Holy. I
encourage people Rabbi Levin to pray for the peace
of Jerusalem. Pray for the courage specifically for
Israel Leaders to return back to the G-d of Abraham,
Isaac, and Jacob.
Rabbi Levin: That’s absolutely correct.
Dr. Harper: To be obedient to the God of
Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. We know Abraham was
obedient. You know we’ve got some great examples
in the Bible; some great leaders. None of them of
course is perfect and without sin. None of us have
been born without sin. We need our Creator. We need
a Savior don’t we?
Rabbi Levin: Well the first thing, save ourselves.
There are things we can do ourselves. From the
Torah perspective, we believe that man was given the
option to choose. And the Bible says to choose good
over evil.
Dr. Harper: Yes.

January 22, 2015 is the 42nd
year anniversary of the infamous
Supreme Court Decision known as
Roe vs. Wade.
TESTIMONY OF NORMA
MCCORVEY, THE FORMER
ROE OF ROE v. WADE, BEFORE
THE SUBCOMMITTEE ON
THE
CONSTITUTION
OF
THE
SENATE
JUDICIARY
COMMITTEE
JUNE 23, 2005 (Public Domain website source
www.judiciary.senate.gov)
I am the woman once known as the Jane Roe of
Roe v. Wade. But I dislike the name Jane Roe and all
that it stands for. I am a real person named Norma
McCorvey and I want you to know the horrible and
evil things that Roe v. Wade did to me and others. I
never got the opportunity to speak for myself in my
own court case. I am not a trained spokesperson, nor
a judge, but I am a real person - a living human being
who was supposed to be helped by my lawyers and
the courts in Roe v. Wade. But instead, I believe that I
was used and abused by the court system in America.
Instead of helping women in Roe v. Wade, I brought
destruction to me and millions of women throughout
the nation. In 1970, I was pregnant for the third time.
I was not married and I truly did not know what to
do with this pregnancy. I had already put one child
up for adoption and it was difficult to place a child
for adoption because of the natural bond that occurs
between a woman and her child. And after all, a
woman becomes a mother as soon as she is pregnant,
not when the child is born. And women are now
speaking out about their harmful experiences from
legal abortion.
Instead of getting me financial or vocational help,
instead of helping me to get off of drugs and alcohol,
instead of working for open adoption or giving me
other help, my lawyers wanted to eliminate the
right of society to protect women and children from
abortionists. My lawyers were looking for a young,
white woman to be a guinea pig for a great new
social experiment, somewhat like Adolf Hitler did.
I wanted an abortion at the time, but my lawyers did
not tell me that I would be killing a human being. My
lawyers did not inform me about the life-changing
consequences of this decision. I was living on the
streets. And while I was confused and conflicted
about the decision for many years, and while I was
once an advocate for abortion, like many women
who choose to participate in abortion, my lawyers
did not tell me that I would later come to deeply
regret that I was partially responsible for killing 4050 million human beings. Do you have any idea how
much emotional grief I have experienced? It is like a
living hell knowing that you have had a part to play,
though in some sense I was just a pawn of the legal
system. But I have had to accept my role in the deaths
of millions of babies and the destruction of women’s
lives. I will tell you later how I have tried to cope
with that. How did I come to the position where I am
today?
Abortion is a shameful and secret thing. I wanted
to justify my desire for an abortion in my own mind,
as almost every woman who participates in the killing
of her own child must also do. I made up the story
that I had been raped to help justify my abortion.
Why would I make up a lie to justify my conduct?
Abortion itself is a lie and it is based on lies. My
www.imcnews.org
lawyers didn’t tell me that abortion
would be used for sex selection,
but later when I was a pro-choice
advocate and worked in abortion
clinics, I found women who were
using abortion as a means of gender
selection. My lawyers didn’t tell
me that future children would be
getting abortions and losing their
innocence. Yet I saw young girls
getting abortions who were never
the same. In 1973, when I learned
about the Roe v. Wade decision
from the newspapers, not my
lawyers, I didn’t feel real elated.
After all, the decision didn’t help
me at all. I never had an abortion. I
gave my baby up for adoption since
the baby was born before the legal
case was over. I am glad today that that child is alive
and that I did not elect to abort. I was actually silent
about my role in abortion for many years and did not
speak out at all. Then, in the 1980’s, in order to justify
my own conduct, with many conflicting emotions, I
did come forward publicly to support Roe v. Wade.
Keep in mind that I had not had an abortion and did
not know much about it at the time.
Then around 1992, I began to work in abortion
clinics. Like most Americans, including many of you
Senators, I had no actual experience with abortion
until that point. When I began to work in the abortion
clinics, I became even more emotionally confused
and conflicted between what my conscience knew to
be evil, and what the judges, my mind and my need
for money were telling me was OK. I saw women
crying in the recovery rooms. If abortion is so right,
why were the women crying? Even Senator Hillary
Clinton on January 25, 2005 was reported by the
New York Times to finally admit “that abortion is
a sad, even tragic choice for many, many women.”
Actually it is a tragic choice for every child that is
killed and every woman and man who participates in
killing their own child, whether they know it at the
time or not. Many women will be in denial and even
pro-choice for years like I was. But participating in
the murder of your own child will eat away at your
conscience forever if you do not take steps to cleanse
your conscience, which I will discuss later. I saw the
baby parts, which are a horrible sight to see, but I urge
everyone who supports abortion to look at the bodies
to face the truth of what they support. I saw filthy
conditions in abortions clinics even when “Roe” was
supposed to clean up “back alley” abortions. I saw
the low regard for women from abortion doctors.
My conscience was bothering me more and more,
causing me to drink more and more and more.
If you are trapped in wrongdoing then all you
can do is justify and defend your actions, but the
pain gets worse and worse, so I drank a lot to kill
the pain. Finally, in 1995, a pro-life organization
moved its offices right next door to the abortion
clinic where I was working. I acted hatefully towards
those people. But those people acted lovingly to me
most of the time. One man did angrily accuse me at
one point of being responsible for killing 40 million
babies, but he later came to me and apologized for
his words and said they were not motivated by love.
The answer to the abortion problem is forgiveness,
repentance, and love. Many of the women who abort
their babies ask the little babies to forgive them.
Even some abortionists encourage women to write
cards explaining their behavior and asking the child’s
forgiveness. This is an old Japanese custom also.
The web is filled with post-abortion recovery and
grief sites. According to an amicus brief filed in my
case, 100,000 women a year enter abortion recovery
counseling programs. Abortion is not a simple
medical procedure that is safer than childbirth, it

prepared a two page mini business plan on what will
be needed to establish a school from insurance to
capital needs, clothing, food and education. Lauren
was 15 years of age. “I couldn’t believe the details
she came up with!” Jim said.
During his research, Jim discovered that the State
of California had put a two-year moratorium on the
establishment of care facilities like the one they were
planning. But God kept Lauren and Jim going with
plans.
Soon afterward, Jim and Pat got a call from
friends in Eagle, Idaho. They had heard that they
were looking for a home in California but prices were
high. “Why don’t you look up here?” they asked.
They sent prices for homes and the Staples decided
to take a look.
Before relocating, Jim called the state of Idaho
and asked them about his dream of a safe house and
school for girls rescued out of human trafficking.
They said for what we are planning, there would be
no problem and we will help you fill out the paper
work. In addition, there were no fees.
So Lauren and the Staples’ family prayed with
them that they are going to a land that God has told
us to go, to establish a place where young girls are
rescued and where they will hear about the saving
Grace of Jesus. Jesus says this is His plan for the
world and I will bless those who will do this and bear
fruit. “It was like Abraham and Sarah, going to a new
land only knowing two people,” Jim said. “God was
two steps ahead me guiding me in His word through
the Book of Joshua… be bold and courageous. Now
I know!”
Jim and Pat relocated to Idaho, and contacted a
real estate lady, seeking a home for the school. The
agent had 20 acres in Wilder, a small, agricultural
town, at a very reasonable price with water and sewer,
electrical and gas. Then the next day she called and
said the owners changed their minds on selling it. But
she did say, look over by the Wilder school district.
There may be land available there.
Jim called Wilder School District and met with
the superintendent, Jeff Dillon. He shared his vision.
“All the while I was talking,” Jim said,” he had this
big smile and he went to a wall plan and said, there
is about 10 acres in this corner that could be made
available for a plan such as yours.”
This plan included education and rescue care
for young girls and a place to grow crops with
hydroponic greenhouses. Two weeks later, Jim
presented the concept to the Wilder School Board,
which approved granting 10 acres for $1.00 for a
99-year lease. As it turned out, Jeff’s big smile was
because he had a vision of the same plan go when
he graduated from Northwest College in Kirkland,
WA, 25 years, before. Jeff’s dad had a ranch outside
Wilder. After graduation, Jeff wanted to start a school
for the oppressed and use the land to grow crops and
sell them to raise money for the school.
Wilder is a safe, quiet town with leaders that
love Jesus, and ACA. The new mission has enjoyed
wide support and acceptance from the Mayor, State
Representatives, local farmers, churches, and much
more.
From a church on Whidby Island, through
California, and through a crisis in Liberia, God has
led Jim to Idaho to rescue children sold into slavery.
At this point, the Board of Aslan Christian
Academy has raised minimal start-up funds, secured
their non-profit foundation paperwork, leased the
land for the next 99 years, and has broken ground
on the project. They are currently hard at work on
a capital campaign to raise the money to open their
doors next year.
“God has really shown me, extreme prayer is
important,” Jim said. “Ask and it SHALL be given
you. Greg Pruett reminds us that Jesus tells us several
times in the New Testament ASKING IN HIS NAME
for HIS PLAN will be answered.
HIS PLANS are those plans that reach the

oppressed and lost, telling them about Him, having
them confess their sins to Him and asking Him inside
of their lives is HIS PLAN. To make them Disciples,
is HIS PLAN.”
It is this rock-solid faith that Jim is functioning as
part of God’s plans in the world that sustains him as
he pressed forward to build a home for survivors of
child sex trafficking.
Jim is far from alone in his passion to see
Aslan Christian Academy become a reality. ACA
is receiving regular offers of volunteer help, and
resumes of interested staff members.
The ACA board is growing, adding expert
members to help them to meet the needs of sexually
exploited youth. One of those new board members is
Pastor AmberDawn McCall.
This September, Pastor AmberDawn joined the
Aslan Christian Academy’s Board of Directors as
Vice President. AmberDawn carries a unique voice
to the abolitionist movement as a parent, a vocal
advocate for those who suffer abuse and assault, and
a survivor of the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of
Children, herself.
AmberDawn knows the world of human
trafficking from the inside out. People who trade
in drugs and human flesh “owned” her mother. Her
mother became an informant to the FBI, which led to
her death. When her mother was killed, AmberDawn
was rescued by family.
“God rescued me from the darkest of places,”
AmberDawn says, “and has called me to pay it
forward, again and again.”
was, but I also realized that I was a survivor,” she
explained. “I’ll never forget the moment I put two
and two together, ‘Click.’”
AmberDawn is driven. She points out that only
one percent of human trafficking victims are rescued.
“I realized that, as part of that 1%, I have a job to do,”
she said.
AmberDawn got to work in her local community
of Sandpoint, Idaho, raising awareness, choosing
an “overcomer” stance. The first time she spoke
publicly on the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of
Children, a woman walked up to her at the end of the
presentation with tears in her eyes. “What do I say to
the girls I know who are already in this situation?”
The woman asked.
“I had no answer for her,” AmberDawn said.
“I’ve been working for over a year to answer her
question.”
Meeting a member of her local Sheriff’s
department, AmberDawn asked him, “If your dream
came true for human trafficking in North Idaho, what
would it look like?”
He said, “A faith-based facility. We have nowhere
to send them. The best we can do is arrest them, to get
them away from their Johns.”
Because of her work in her local community,
and as an Ambassador of Hope with Shared Hope,
International, AmberDawn ended up being contacted
by Jim Staples, and his group of people starting a
72-bed school for girls ages 11-17 rescued from sex
trafficking.
Initially suspicious of his intentions, AmberDawn
drilled Jim for hours, asking about his plans and
purposes.
Continued on Page 5
As a pastor and an overcomer of exploitation
and abuse, she often finds myself ministering to
people facing the aftermath of abuse, neglect, sexual
exploitation, and violence.
AmberDawn says, “Those who have suffered
find me a safe listener and a powerful advocate. God
has also given me His own deep love and forgiveness
for those who exploit and abuse. He has taught
me that slavery to sin is the most painful form of
bondage possible, far beyond that of external chains.
He has given me a passion to see every captive set
free, especially those whose personal captivity to the
‘powers and principalities of the air, and the rulers
of this present age’ cause them to harm and destroy
God’s precious children around them, as well as
themselves.”
Pastor AmberDawn has been lead, step-by-step
to the Treasure Valley, and to her work on behalf of
exploited children at Aslan Christian Academy and
beyond.
In July of 2013, AmberDawn and her family
answered the call of God and travelled to the City of
Boise, ID. While they were there, God supernaturally
led AmberDawn and her husband to the “high place,”
the highest mountain/point in the City, Camel Back.
“Since I was at this vantage point, I decided to pray
over the city,” AmberDawn explained. “God put it on
my heart to bind poverty, deception, corruption and
sexual exploitation as I prayed. Then, he asked, ‘Who
will go for us? Whom shall we send?’ I answered the
only way possible. ‘Me. I’ll go.’ Due to additional
leading by Holy Spirit, we set a date of July 2015.
Two months later, AmberDawn learned the
definition of sexual exploitation—it’s sex trafficking.
“Not only did I learn what sexual exploitation

“He won me over with his sincerity and
thoroughness,” AmberDawn said. “He never got
defensive. If he didn’t have an answer for my
question, he asked me what I thought.”
AmberDawn discovered that medical service
plans, dental care, counseling services, building
plans, land, etc. for this school have already been put
in place by this group of devoted Christians.
In order to become the flagship, most impressively
planned project of this type in the United States,
they lacked one thing. They lacked someone with a
background in sexual exploitation to bring a unique
understanding of the victims, and how to serve and
help them best.
AmberDawn realized that God was calling her to
fill that need.
“With Aslan particularly, I am certainly seeing
Joshua 24:13 come to pass in my life. ‘So I gave
you a land on which you did not toil and cities you
did not build; and you live in them and eat from
vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant.’
God made this plan to rescue his precious children
from sexual exploitation, and then He invited each
of us to get involved. Aslan Christian Academy is
God’s work. Jesus is calling us to be bold, extreme,
and courageous like the prophet Deborah. We’re just
obedient servants, following His orders.”

GOD’s assignment to fight Human Trafficking
In 1993 I had left my professor position at the
University of Colorado, and was doing missions
work in countries of the former Soviet Union. While
on a trip to Israel and on the Mt of Beatitudes, I was
kneeling in prayer and thanking GOD that I could
be HIS servant; “Whatever YOU want me to do in
the future I will do.” GOD responded with church
bells ringing in three different directions, affirming
my status as HIS servant and HIS intent to give me a
new assignment.
By 2000 I was to deliver a container of aid to
a school of abandon children in Latvia. I heard the
story of a girl that told of being in sexual slavery
since age 15 and she said; “I am now safe in the
LORD, but there are thousands like me --- please
help rescue them”. My new assignment from GOD’s
was to STOP Human Trafficking.
The Eastern European fight against Human
Trafficking
A man came up after a service I preached and
said; “You don’t know what you are doing, I am
with the LORD, but years ago I was a manager in
the trafficking business. Come with me and I will
give you an education!” In two weeks he gave me
information on the workings of sexual slavery. I met
www.imcnews.org
with one of the mafia leaders. I said “The word is
that you have about 5000 girls.” He responded; “No,
we have over 12,000”.
This was my start in fighting Human Trafficking.
Girls were rescued and led to the LORD. When
rescuing two girls, one of them said; “I can’t believe
in your GOD, or we would not have been where we
were for the last years”. Her friend said; “Who do
you think sent him to rescue us”. They are now both
with the LORD.
This is a dangerous business in the rescue of those
enslaved in Human Trafficking, and many doing
this evil want to eliminate you. A life can be snuffed
out for only $5000. One Sunday, I preached at one
church and then walked to another church through
the narrow streets of the old city of Riga.
Suddenly a huge Russian man jumped out in
front of me. His intent was bodily harm or death, and
as he grabbed for me his hands caught the sleeves
of my rain coat. I was thinking about what I had
preached and shouted out: “IN THE NAME OF
JESUS, YOU HAVE NO POWER OVER ME!”
Three men in blue jackets with the label SECURITY
appeared and pushed him up against the wall. “Take
care of him”, I said, as I walked on to preach. Yes,
the LORD protects!
For some time I worked rescuing individuals
in Latvia and in Lithuania. Then 11 years ago the
LORD gave me my wife Saundra and we continued to
work together for the LORD in this effort of fighting
Human Trafficking.
We moved from Latvia and used Wiesbaden,
Germany to fight against Human Trafficking in 18
countries of the former Soviet Union. Then suddenly
the LORD brought us back to the United States.
GOD tells the Christian community to help!
JESUS CHRIST said in Luke 4:18; “I have
come to set the captives free.” These suffering
girls need spiritual freedom as well as physical
and psychological freedom. Christians have a
responsibility to help them receive this freedom.
CHRIST said in Matthew 25:40; “As you have done
to ONE of the least of these you have done unto ME.”
These girls are the least of all! Christians don’t ask
what your church can do for you, but ask “what can

time. The document, ‘STEPS TO A COMPLETE
SOLUTION’ found on www.STOPtrafficking.US
presents the method to obtain the needed solutions.
Next we researched the only two FACTS; (1)
the average number of 1000 rescued per year and
(2) that only 70 beds existed to give care these girls
need. Yes, data clean up is essential. The following
estimates are shocking!
• 300,000 Innocent American girls are being
sold and raped daily
• Sex industry in Denver, CO brings in 60
million each year
• Only one trafficking conviction in Colorado
since 2006.
• Worldwide the sex industry generates $32
billion a year
• In 2011 of 40,000 cases 8000 were prosecuted
and only 4000 convictions
No symbol has existed to energize the world
against human trafficking. The STOP program has
developed the STOP sign as the symbol as it states:
Stop Trafficking Of People.
The STOP program has major tasks to reach a
goal of eliminating U.S. Human Trafficking by the
year 2020:
• SOLUTIONS
• Coordination between the organizations
• Share the SOLUTIONS
• Clean up data
• Utilize the STOP symbol to make the world
aware
Yes, with SOLUTIONS identified Human
Trafficking can be stopped!
The second necessary component needed by
the STOP program was an internet survey database
system. Over one million dollars of contribution
developed this tool by students from Regis University.
Those tasks are the macro goals. In addition their
exists a number of micro projects:
• Identification & Rescue using information
from Interstate truckers
• Model Rehabilitation Design
• Rescuing Known Trafficked Girls
• Develop Legislation
• Local coordination
• “Bikers” organization
• CHRIST CENTER
A full documentation of the CHRIST CENTER
five facilities can be found on: www.STOPtrafficking.
US and the site contains a more complete version of
this document.
One other area exists in which the STOP program
has made efforts. We must reduce the demand. More
information is given on our website regarding such
efforts.
STOP program for GOD’s glory
In conclusion all of this is to fulfill GOD’s
desire to STOP the Human Trafficking. In the final
perspective we must end as Bach ended all of his
compositions by: Soli Deo Gloria (“To GOD alone
be the glory”).

The STOP program of ProjectLOVE
Back in the United States I spoke at conferences
and found that almost all organizations were only
giving information about Human Trafficking, that
few had our experience in rescue and rehabilitation.
In U.S. rescues a majority being rescued were
simply by the “grace of GOD”. Two 12 & 13 year
old cousins kidnapped into sexual slavery were
accidentally rescued at a truck stop when a trucker
called the state patrol. A Christian girl was sold to
traffickers out of state. Her accidental rescue by the
“grace of GOD” was when the traffickers stopped

For most people today, the problem of human
slavery is thought to have been abolished long ago.
But this is a far cry from the truth. There are currently
over 21 million slaves in the world, more than at
any other point in history. As many as 136 different
nationalities have been trafficked, with over 118
countries containing some form of human trafficking
within their borders. Even worse, sex-slavery
accounts for 58% of trafficked victims, with 75% of
individuals in the sex-trade being women and girls.
There has also been an increase in child slavery, with
27% of slaves being the age of a child, according to
the United Nations’ Global Report of Trafficking in
Persons 2012.
The term “human trafficking” refers to several
different facets of forced labor. According to the
United Nations, it involves the recruitment, transport,
transfer, harboring, or receipt of persons by means
of threat or use of force, coercion, abduction, fraud,
deception, abuse of power or vulnerability, or giving
payments of benefits. It includes prostitution of
others, sexual exploitation, forced labor, slavery or
similar practices, removal of organs, or other types
of exploitation. (United Nations Office on Drugs and
Crime, 2014) The United Nations states that “134
countries and territories worldwide have criminalized
trafficking by means of a specific offence in line
with the Trafficking in Persons Protocol”; however,
it also states that “[t]he number of convictions for
trafficking in persons is in general very low.” So,
while many countries are attempting to combat
human trafficking, it appears that there is a time lapse
between the enactment of such laws and the enforcing
them, or there is simply a lack of legal stamina and
the ability to enforce punishment on the perpetrators
of this crime. Regardless, human trafficking has
been deemed one of the fastest growing, criminal
industries in the world. The industry boasts billions
of dollars of income every year, with some areas
containing as many as 1.5 million purchases of sex
a day. The numbers are truly astonishing. (Global
Report of Trafficking in Persons 2012)
Vision Beyond Borders (VBB) is working in
some of the world’s poorest countries to help meet the
spiritual and physical needs of women and children
enslaved. We are committed to sharing the hope of the
Gospel with those trapped in darkness and seeking
ways to rescue them out of slavery. We are convinced
the only hope for those who have been trafficked and
for those involved in the sex-industry is Jesus Christ.
You can change a person’s surroundings; but, without
Jesus Christ, he or she is imprisoned by anger, hatred,
and unforgiveness. We have seen many women find
forgiveness in Jesus Christ, who have then extended
that forgiveness to those who violated them. They
are now moving forward, putting their past behind
them and leading normal, productive lives. It is our
hope that more would know the freedom found in
Jesus’ name!
Our Work in India
The situation in India is dire! In the city where
our contact works, it is estimated that 70,000
women and girls are caught in sex-trafficking and
prostitution. Many of these women have been taken
from their homes in Nepal and sold for the purpose
of sex-trafficking. The vast majority of these women,
some as young as five years old, have been sold into
bondage by their own family members.
Our contact in India has been ministering in the
red-light district (RLD) for over 16 years, building
relationships and showing the love of Christ through
simply caring for the women and their daily needs.
We are currently working to establish a salon in
the RLD where our contact can provide services to
these individuals who are otherwise rejected due to
the stigma of being unclean and dirty. The salon
will provide a safe place where the women can be
vulnerable and share about their experiences; it also
provides a place where our contact can openly share
the Gospel and encourage the women to leave the
sex-industry. We will designate part of the space
for children from the RLD as well, providing them
a place where they can work on their studies and be
away from the brothels where their mothers are being
used.
Our Work in Nepal
As many as 500,000 women and children have
been trafficked from Nepal. The majority have ended
up in the brothels of India, while others are sent to
Malaysia and as far away as the Middle East. We
have heard reports of mothers selling their daughters,
sons selling their mothers, and even men bringing
five to eight other men to use their wives every day.
We believe sex-trafficking and forced prostitution is
devastating the country!
VBB has established a beauty salon in Nepal as
a way to build relationships with the women who
have been sold into slavery; we have found this to
be a fruitful model based on the ministry we have
partnered with in India. Women can go to the beauty
salon for a low- to no-cost price based on need or
circumstance and be ministered to by Christian
beauticians. The beauticians minister to everyone
with the goal of leading them to Jesus Christ and
rescuing them from their oppressors.
When women make the bold choice to leave
the RLD, our contact works to bring them to the
safehouse which was established in January of this
year. We have established the safehouse with the
understanding that rescuing women is not enough.
Many women who are rescued from the sex-industry
eventually return to it because they have no hope in
Jesus, no other means of support, and have suffered
such severe abuse and deception that they believe
they are not worth more. We are working to provide
the long-term support that is essential for these
women to succeed in their new lives.
The safehouse includes spiritual guidance, with
daily devotions that encourage a close relationship
with Jesus Christ; physical and emotional support;
and educational and training opportunities. The
training currently includes handicraft, salon, and
tailor skills. It is our hope that every woman who
enters the safehouse would come to know Jesus
Christ as her Savior and gain the skills she needs to
find employment when she leaves.

The Obama Administration’s failed foreign
policy, pulling troops to early from Iraq, has created
a power vacuum and the rise of ISIS beheaders in
Syria and Iraq.
Now President Obama is waging an air campaign,
with few or no boots on the ground, and cannot easily
win the hearts and minds of the people if they are

Catholic Pope Says God
and Big Bang May Co-exist
By Dr. Edward Boudreaux, Littleton, Colorado
In the Denver Post,
Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014,
reporter Ishaan Tharoor
for the Washington Post,
wrote a report on Pope
Francis’ recent address to
the Pontifical Academy of
Sciences. This article states
that the Pope appeared
to endorse Big Bang
cosmology, by saying
there was no contradiction between believing in God
as well as prevailing scientific theories. According
to Tharoor, the Pope went on to say,” God is not a
divine being (emphasis added) or a magician, but the
Creator who brought everything to life.” “Evolution
in nature is not inconsistent with the notion of
creation, because evolution requires the creation of
beings that evolve.”
This article also states that over the past 60
years, since Pope Pius XII, the Catholic Church has
espoused belief in Theistic Evolution. Also, in a 2006
Vatican news report, the Catholic Church distanced
itself from “intelligent design”, in which it stated that
this should not be taught in schools as science.
However, what the Catholic Church does insist is
that the emergence of humans supposes a willful act
of God, and man cannot be seen as only the product
of evolution.
What I have presented above is a condensed
version of the entire article. In my opinion, the Pope
is endorsing both Theistic Evolution and Progressive
Saturday - November 15, 2014
Creationism. But what is even more disturbing is
for Pope Francis to say, “God is not a divine being,
etc.” If this is an accurate quote, then this statement
is clearly blasphemous, since one of God’s essential
attributes is that He is Divine. I would hope that the
Pope’s statement was misquoted, and that it may
have been something like, ‘God is not just a divine
magician...etc.’
In any case, it is indeed saddening that the
authoritative position of Catholic Church has become
entrenched in the acceptance of theistic evolution as
a compromise for the accurate interpretation of the
Genesis Creation account. Apparently, the Catholic
authorities have completely ignored the numerous
creation publications, which clearly refute theistic
evolution as an acceptable alternative to the Scriptural
account of creation.
A true Christian knows that God’s Word, as
communicated to us in Scripture, is always accurate
and true. Since the inspired Word of God was directed
to humans under the preservation of the Holy Spirit,
God said precisely what He meant to say, which was
recorded with total accuracy. The Genesis account of
creation is factual history, not just a narrative subject
to reinterpretation.

Christians United for Israel Pastor Trip to Israel
By Pastor Stephen Peterson, Victory Christian, Layton, Utah
One of the most important and exciting trips of
my life took place in the first week of August this
year. Just one week earlier I had no idea I would be
going on a trip let alone a trip to Israel.
Pictured above: in the middle flanked by two of the lead
representatives of CUFI, Randy Neal on the left and Victor on
my right.
The trip was put together by a Christian group
started by Pastor John Hagee in San Antonio Texas,
CUFI which is short for Christians United for Israel.
This group is a political group that supports the
nation of Israel’s right to exist and to defend itself.
The groups leaders were all Christian pastors. The
official stance of this group is to be a friend to Israel
and to befriend Jewish people wherever we find them.
After the terrorist Hamas group in the Gaza Strip
had been firing rockets into Israel for some time this
year, a small group of Hamas terrorists decided to
kidnap school age children and murder them. Then
and only then did Israel start to answer the rockets
fired on them with rockets of their own.
That’s when CUFI decided to do something about
the world wide as well as nation wide negative press
Israel was receiving. An anonymous donor gave a
www.imcnews.org
specific sum of money to CUFI with the challenge
to find at least one Christian pastor from every state
to travel together to Israel for an information tour
and briefing from the military, politicians, business
leaders and even time spent with an Arab journalist.
It’s had to coordinate even local meetings with
several pastors. To get fifty different pastors to decide
quickly if they could commit to this trip must have
been a monumental, even an overwhelming task.
I was asked to be the representative from Utah
only after two or three other pastors had been asked.
But this trip was not a vacation, spouses were not
allowed to go along, only after at least three other
pastors were invited was an invitation given to me.
They asked me late on a Wednesday evening, I said
yes and my itinerary was sent to me on a Saturday.
That’s when I found out I would be flying out of Utah
in less than 36 hours.
When I got to JFK airport is the first time I saw
any of the other pastors. I only knew one person on
the trip, a representative from CUFI, Randy Neal.
Many of the 51 pastors (there was also a pastor
from Washington DC) had meet before. Several of
the pastors would lead a tour a year to Israel. I had
never been to Israel before so I wasn’t sure what I
should expect.
This tour was covered by at least three Christian
new agencies that traveled with us but from time to
time were separated from us for privacy and security
reasons. Our arrival was also covered by some in the
Israeli media.
Because of the almost constant barrage of rockets
from Hamas, tourists traveling to Israel had just about
ground to a halt. A week before our arrival the FAA
denied permission from any planes leaving the United
States to land in Israel. After several congressmen
and senators objected the ban was lifted.
We landed at noon on Tuesday in Tel Aviv, went
quickly through customs, and then were loaded on
two buses. Our first stop was at the Wailing Wall in
Jerusalem. The Bible says it is Gods favorite city.
The day we landed was considered by most Jewish
people in Israel to be a holy day. Not a holy day of
feasting, but a holy day of fasting even weeping. On
this day in 1492 all Jewish people were kicked out
Spain (the next day
Columbus set sail looking for the new world,
with as many as 30% of his crew being Jewish), two
hundred years earlier all Jewish people were ordered
out of England on the exact same day. The wall to the
temple was breached on that same day hundreds of
years earlier by Nebuchadnezzar and his troops and
the Romans began tearing down the rebuilt temple in
about 70 AD on the very same day.
The area of the Wailing Wall was very busy, but
as far as I could tell we were the only Americans.
Religious Jews were everywhere carrying Torahs in
some kind of silver casing. As a group we stopped
for at least thirty minutes to pray for Israel, the crazy
political world around them and to pray for ourselves
and our nation.
There is so much respect for God at the Wailing
Wall that everyone’s head must be “covered” as
you pray. It is considered to be very disrespectful to
simply turn your back and walk away. It’s the same
thing as turning your back on God! So when I walked
away from the Wailing Wall I walked backwards for
twenty to thirty feet.
Then we pulled up to a beautiful hotel overlooking
Jerusalem, before going in we stopped and prayed for
the peace of Jerusalem. When we checked in I found
out we were the only guests in this beautiful 1,000
plus room hotel, except for one other group from the

The Signs of a
Christian
By Rev. Anthony Harper, Ph.D., Boise, Idaho
You may have wondered if you are saved at
times. The following are some key elements of a
Christian’s experience:
1. Are you preoccupied with thinking about JESUS?
Psalms 42:2: My soul thirsteth for God, for the
living God.... KJV Malachi 3:16: …and the Lord
hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared
the Lord, and that thought upon his name.
2. Do you have a heart for the lost? Do you love
to speak about JESUS with others?
Malachi 3:16: Then they that feared the Lord
spake often one to another...KJV Matthew 28:1920: Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son,
and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe
all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and,
lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the
world. Amen.
3. Do you delight in studying GOD’s Word
(The Holy Bible)?
KJV Psalms 1:2 But his delight is in the law
of the Lord; and in His law doth he meditate day
and night.
4. Do you experience persecution of some
kind for your faith in JESUS?
KJV 2 Timothy 3:12 ...and all that will live
godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
John 14:15 If ye love me [JESUS], keep my
commandments.

Historical Summary:
• 1775 – The first Continental Congress calls for a
National Day of Prayer and Fasting.
• 1863 – Abraham Lincoln calls for a National
Day of Prayer.
• 1952 – Congress established NDP as an annual
event by a joint resolution, signed into law by
President Truman (82-324)
• 1988 – The law was amended and signed by
President Reagan, designating the NDP as the
first Thursday in May (100-307).
• 1998 – The law was amended once more adding
that the President of the United States is to
issue a proclamation on NDP. It was signed by
President Bill Clinton (105-225).
Fun Facts:
1. There have been 143 national calls to prayer,
humiliation, fasting and thanksgiving by the
President of the United States (1789-2014).
2. There have been 66 Presidential Proclamations
for a National Day of Prayer (1952-2014).
Gerald R. Ford (1976), George H. Bush (198991) and Barack H. Obama (2012) are the only
U.S. Presidents to sign multiple National Day of
Prayer Proclamations in the same year.
3. Every President since 1952 has signed a National
Day of Prayer proclamation.
4. 34 of the 44 U.S. Presidents have signed
proclamations for National Prayer. Three of
the Presidents who did not sign a proclamation
died while serving in office. Two Presidents,
not included in the count – William Howard
Taft and Warren Gamaliel Harding, signed
proclamations for Thanksgiving and Prayer.
5. Records indicate there have been 1,310 state
and federal calls for national prayer since 1775
and counting.

American Pastor held Prisoner in Iran. Naghmeh
Abedini exclusive!
An American pastor from Idaho is being held
prisoner in Iran, going on 3 years of an 8 year sentence.
He is not a spy, just an American citizen pastor who
was building an orphanage with full permission of
the Iranian government.
Pastor Saeed Abedini was arrested for
“undermining national security” of Iran because
he attended church meetings in the homes of other
Christians. Christian home churches are allowed
in Iran’s constitution, but Islamic Sharia is often
enforced instead of their actual law.
Pastor Saeed was arrested, tried, and convicted
for being a Christian, plain and simple. He was told
that if he renounced Christ, he would be released. He
refused.
His wife explained in our exclusive TV interview,
that despite having permission to build an orphanage,
despite traveling many times into and out of Iran
without incident, he was sentenced to 8 years in jail
for undermining Islam as Iran’s government religion.
Since when is it a crime to love and serve orphans?
Or a crime to assemble quietly and worship Almighty
God through Jesus Christ? Or a crime to preach the
gospel? No doubt the enforcement of Muslim Sharia

Your petitions to Congress are having an impact,

not just to Iraq but also to the region and to the United

Rabbi Letter to Christian and Israel Leaders
Continued from Page 2
Rabbi Levin: We need to control our animalistic
urges. These things come before our ultimate
salvation. As individuals, each and every one of us
needs to turn away. Turn away from the adultery,
turn away from the pornography, turn away from
the voyeurism, turn away from destroying human
fetuses. These things are things that we have been
given a choice to turn away from.
Dr. Harper: Yes.
Rabbi Levin: Then collectively, we could start
the next stage which is an ultimate redemption. But
right now what we’re concerned about is turning
away.
Dr. Harper: Yes, to turn away. To Honor the
God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob again. I yearn for
there to be peace in Israel Rabbi Levin. I appreciate
you sharing with me this message for other Christian
Leaders.
Rabbi Levin: Thank you so much for having
me. And I hope again, that the Christian leaders
and followers will take a pair of hands and sign the
petition to the Leaders of the State of Israel.
When a person takes a pen in hand and does this,
I promise you, that Almighty God takes notice and
looks down from above to these people and says,
“You made an effort, a physical effort to imprint your
identity on a document that sanctifies my name, and
my values.” “I will pay you back with blessings,
manifold blessings.” It’s a win, win, situation.
And I hope again that the Christian leaders and
followers will mention all these things and reflect
their deep disappointment of these anti-G-d Israeli
policies and will speak to the Israeli Government.
In addition, I hope that there will be an initiation of
petitions (written petitions, by no less than Pastor
Hagee himself and Christians United for Israel,
as well as all kinds of evangelical organizations,
whether it be the Christian Coalition, whether it be
the Liberty University and the Falwell brothers).
Whoever it may be, take a stand and initiate petitions
so that the government will see several millions
Christian signatures.
And by doing that, Israeli leaders will realize
that they dare not risk losing the economic, spiritual
and political support of the general evangelical
community. And they will have to curb some of the
anti-holiness excesses. And this will be to the Greater
Glory of God. And it will be a protection of the
people of Israel as well as for the signatories on these
documents.
Dr. Harper: Yes it will. Now for more information
how would people contact you? I’m assuming you
have a website.
Rabbi Levin: I have a website that’s very
interesting if you go through it. However, it’s not
so current. But it’s certainly worthwhile seeing.
Especially some of the speeches on the right hand
side.
That is Rabbi, r-a-b-b-i, Levin.com (www.
rabbilevin.com). They can also email me at
[email protected].
By googling Rabbi Levin they will get an idea of
who I am. I have stood up for Judeo Christian Values
here in America and opposed abortion for some thirty
five years. I have addressed The March for Life from
1979 until three years ago.
I am just happy to have this opportunity to speak
about something which is so close to my heart.
Dr. Harper: It is so crucial for the survival of
Israel, for the survival of America and our world that
we
Honor the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob
again. That we humble ourselves before Him and
as you mentioned, turning from their wicked ways,
repenting of all these evils.
I thank you Rabbi Levin for joining me and I
look forward to talking with you again.
Rabbi Levin: Well thank you so much and I’ll
be honored to discuss things with you whenever you
reach out.
Dr. Harper: Well thank you. I will be calling
you later.
Rabbi Levin: Thank you.

hosting a conference of
the Rabbinical Alliance
of America.
Rabbi Yehuda Levin is the Rabbi and founder of
Congregation Mevakshei Hashem (Those Who Seek
the Lord) Synagogue in the Flatbush neighborhood
of Brooklyn, New York. A 57-year-old grandfather,
Rabbi Levin has been a cultural warrior in New York
City for over 30 years. At age 24, he delivered his first
talk at the March for Life in D.C., and for the next 32
years he has spoken at least 29 times. At age 30, he
ran for U.S. Congress, causing a powerful Democrat
to remove his sponsorship of pro-homosexual
legislation.
A year later, he ran for Mayor of New York City
on the Right to Life line, garnering the headlines
in New York’s major newspapers which reported
on the only mayoral debate sponsored by the New
York Times. As a result, Mayor Koch could not avoid
participating in that debate and later wrote about the
race in his book Politics.
In 1991, Rabbi Levin was one of six people
featured prominently in the book Culture Wars, thus
cementing his identification as a “Cultural Warrior.”
In the late 1980’s, he was featured on the front page
of the New York Newsday, identifying him as a co-
leader of Operation Rescue where 800 people were
arrested that day. In the mid 1990’s, Rabbi Levin
showed the photo of that event to Pope John Paul II
when he visited New York City, and the Pope saluted
the Rabbi with the words, “Evangelium Vitae.”
Levin’s approbation appeared on the book cover of
Jerry Falwell’s book If I Die Before I Wake.
Over the years, Rabbi Levin has been requested
to defend various personalities accused of antiSemitism or insensitivity to the Jewish community.
Among those people are Cardinal O’Connor of New
York City,
Father Paul Marks who founded Human Life
International, Dr. Pat Robertson, and Pope Benedict
four years ago. In 2000, he defended the Vatican at an
exclusive press conference inside the UN, and several
years later, he was recognized by Inside the Vatican
magazine as one of the ten most important people of
the year. The Rabbi enjoys a fraternal relationship
with Cardinal Burke, head of the Pontifical Court in
Rome, and has been featured as a guest on Vatican
Radio.
In the mid-2000’s, there was pending legislation
in Italy that would have codified homosexual
marriage; however, a 1.5 million-person rally of the
faithful succeeded in stopping that legislation. A
statement of support from Rabbi Levin and the 850
Rabbis which he represents was read at the rally that
day.
Rabbi Levin has had op-ed pieces in the New York
Times and USA Today, has appeared several times
on CNN, has been featured in articles which have
appeared in the New York Times, and has appeared
on many national television and radio programs over
the last three decades. Whenever he speaks, it is direct
and powerful and delivered in an inspiring manner, as
millions of March for Life attendees can attest.
Recently, Rabbi Levin has embarked on a new
chapter in his life mission to inform, educate and
activate millions of the faithful/remnant. He plans
to speak in a prophetic manner of Jewish Scripture
to challenge the failures of Religio/Conservative
leadership in these important end times. The Rabbi
will share from his wisdom and experience in living
the holy, uplifting, spiritual, happy family life,
having raised God-fearing, good children in a Sodom
environment!

Time for a Governor to Stand Up Against Judicial Tyranny
By Bryan Fischer, American Family Radio (previous Director of Idaho Values Alliance, Boise, Idaho)

Note: now that rogue and renegade
federal judges have struck down
amendments that protect natural marriage
in Mississippi and Arkansas, passed with
86% and 75% of the vote respectively, it’s
time once again to review the solution:
courageous governors.
There is one and only one short
range solution to a runaway judiciary on
the issue of sodomy-based marriage: a
governor with the testosterone to stand up

and just say no.
Governors take an oath of office
to uphold the federal constitution and
the constitution of their own state. Any
governor in any state with a marriage
amendment as a part of his constitution
has the right, nay, the duty, to refuse
to comply with any judicial order to
recognize same-sex marriage.
The Constitution is utterly silent
on the topic of homosexuality and
marriage, which means, according to the
Constitution the Founders gave us, this is an issue
reserved exclusively to the states.
Any ruling from any federal court that imposes
domestic policy on a state is by its very nature
unconstitutional, and no governor has any obligation
to obey it. In fact, quite the opposite. He must refuse
to comply with it, for to comply would mean he must
violate his own sacred oath of office.
A governor’s oath is to defend the Constitution
of both the federal government and his own state.
Defending something by definition means protecting

November 2014 Meeting Highlights
Pictured above: Spike Psarris
Our speaker for the November 14 meeting
was Spike Psarris, noted author of the DVD series
“What you aren’t being told about astronomy.”
His presentation, entitled “Our Created Universe,”
systematically demolished the naturalistic models
for the formation of planets, stars and galaxies. He
started with the particle-accretion model of the origin
of planets, which says that repeated collisions of
rocky “planetesimals” produced the planets, which is
a theory that doesn’t work: objects any larger than
about one meter in size destroy each other, leaving
rubble, not planets. Understanding the formation of
the planets is therefore one of the major challenges
for astronomers.
Even if boulder-sized rocks could form, they
would rapidly spiral into the protostar in a few
hundred orbits, due to a head wind from the slower
rotating gas cloud.
Jupiter is especially an enigma, about whose
origin we know next to nothing. GW Wetherill said,
“I don’t think the existence of Jupiter would be
predicted if it weren’t observed.” Both Saturn and
Jupiter suffer from the “migration problem,” the fact
that they should have spiraled into the sun on their
way to becoming planets. These are two giant planets
that shouldn’t be there! One of Saturn’s moons,
Enceladus has a water geyser coming from its South
Pole. According to the secular model, this moon is
far too old to be geologically active. The moon Titan
has methane and ethane in its atmosphere. If Titan
was really 4.5 billion years old, there shouldn’t be
any methane left. Spike revealed another “dirty little
secret”: so far no one has come up with a scenario
that produces Uranus or Neptune.
Another problem: star formation (the nebular
theory) says that gas clouds condense under the
action of gravity to form stars. The problem is that gas
pressure impeding the collapse is far stronger than
gravity, causing the gas to dissipate. All attempts to
explain this problem rely on the pre-existence of stars
to form other stars, such as supernovae (exploding
stars), which could produce pressure waves to
compress the gas. More recently, astronomers point
to colliding galaxies as a birthplace of stars. These are
chicken-and-egg paradoxes applied to the theory of
star formation. Quote: Lada and Shu, Science, 4 May
1990, “The origin of stars represents one of the most
fundamental unsolved problems of contemporary
astrophysics.” Yet, the media continue to promote
fairy tales for what “science” has failed to explain,
but what Genesis does.
Next, Spike attacked the Big Bang theory of
the origin of the universe, describing it as “Nothing
exploded,” or, “Nothing ‘fluctuated’ and created
something [referring to a quantum fluctuation].
The theory says that the explosion was followed by
a sudden inflation or expansion of space, and then
star formation occurred, and the galaxies collected
themselves together. Evidences given for the BB
include the observed universal expansion (red shift)
and the predicted abundances of the light elements
(helium and hydrogen). A third observation is the
Cosmic Microwave Background, thought to be the
afterglow of the BB after the universe cooled to its
present temperature. But the CMB is consistent with
www.imcnews.org
other cosmologies, and does not prove the BB on its
own.
Evidences against the BB are mounting, such
as the discovery that temperature variations in the
CMB display a preferred pattern that the Big Bang
cannot accommodate (the so-called “axis of evil).
Spike argued, you can’t get something from nothing
anyway; that would violate the conservation laws
of physics, which is the most fundamental idea in
physics. Cosmologists deny that the BB violates
the conservation laws by claiming the universe
contains a net zero of energy, with the total of mass/
energy being cancelled by the negative energy of
gravitational potential energy. Therefore, the BB
really did not create anything.
Spike mentioned other BB problems, such as
the missing magnetic monopoles, which the BB
predicts, and the horizon problem, where the CMB
reveals that distant parts of the universe are too close
in temperature for the models to accommodate. Big
Bang inflation theory was invented to cure these
problems, but physics actually has no explanation
for inflation; all the solutions are mere mathematical
conveniences, with no particular physical basis.
It turns out that the universe is exceptionally fine
tuned for mankind (Is 45:18), an example being the
uniqueness of our Sun, with its constant temperature
and lack of damaging super flares. The odds against
producing the finely tuned universe in a Big Bang is
10 -123 .
Spike mentioned the atheistic cosmology of
“multiverses” to explain this fine tuned-ness: that
our universe is only one of an infinite number of
universes, among which our universe must occur.
“Even the most unlikely events must take place
somewhere.”
The Big Bang model is actually anti-science,
because taken to its logical conclusions, this model
denies the fundamental things that must be true for
science to work:
1) the BB violates physics. 2) BB invalidates the
physical laws. 3) BB is self contradictory. 4) BB is an
absurdity. 5) BB is self refuting: “Anything that can
be used to prove anything and everything is worth
nothing.”
Thanks to Spike Psarris for an informative
presentation. A DVD is available at the book table.
May the Creator be glorified!

it when it is under attack, regardless of where that
attack comes from -- even if the attack comes from a
federal judge, a federal court, or the Supreme Court
itself.
Governors have been meekly capitulating to
judicial tyranny, one after the other, and timidly
abandoning their posts.
Americans have no understanding of how
little power the federal judiciary actually holds.
It was designed by the Founders to be the least
powerful branch of the federal government, with
its jurisdiction limited to settling matters of dispute
between individual states and matters of international
controversy. The Supreme Court met in a closet for
the first several decades of its existence, a sign of the
lowly stature it occupied under the Constitution as
written.
But the federal judiciary has mutated into a
gargantuan beast, looming over liberty, freedom
and the Constitution itself, and imposing its own
benighted and twisted version of morality on the
entire country with no legal, statutory, constitutional
or moral authority.
But it has no police force it can order to arrest
or detain anyone. If its unconstitutional rulings are
ignored, what will the Supreme Court do? It can issue
an arrest order, I suppose, but if a governor will not
allow it to be executed, what can the Court do? The
answer is nothing.
President Andrew Jackson once said, of a decision
handed down by the chief justice of his day, “John
Marshall has made his decision; now let him enforce
it.” What happened in the face of this defiance from
a co-equal branch of government? Precisely nothing.
The truth is the federal judiciary is impotent
apart from the good will of the American people.
Once the American people realize that the Supreme
Court is a co-equal branch of government, not the
superior branch of government, they can get back to
governing themselves rather than deferring to blackrobed oligarchs to make all the important decisions
for them.
For a governor to stand up and refuse to cower
to a federal court would not be civil disobedience at
all. It would be constitutional obedience -- obedience
to the Constitution and its provisions in the ninth
and 10th amendments, obedience to his own state
constitution, and obedience to the oath he took before
Almighty God.
Governors do not take an oath of allegiance to
the Supreme Court. They take an oath of allegiance
to the Constitution. It’s time they started acting like
it.

Letter To The Editor
By Marcia B. Yiapan - Nampa, Idaho
Are you concerned about the prevalence of
tattoos and tattoo parlors in your town? Chances are
they’re hardly regulated at all. You can find out by
asking any tattoo artist about it. Here’s a letter run in
two large Idaho newspapers, which you could use in
your own state:
“I appreciate that we in Idaho like to be probusiness, but I can’t understand why we have no
regulation whatsoever for tattoo parlors. I feel for
those poor people who decide after a while that they
don’t want that ink all over their arm, chest or face and
go in naively for a removal procedure. Unfortunately,
it’s going to set them back way more than the original
art did. A tattoo that is about the size of an index card,
for example, which might be estimated to need eight
laser sessions using the Kirby-Desai Scale, could
cost $5,880, assuming a cost of $49/square inch.
Rates can be as high as $300/square inch, however,
depending on the colors, complexity, and location of
the tattoo. Each session must be spaced a couple of
months apart to allow the painful red blisters to heal.
And yet, we allow unregulated tattoo parlors to
operate right in the center of town.
In Nebraska, on the other hand, one has to
be at least a high-school graduate, pay an annual
fee and show proof of completing two recognized
training courses before opening a tattooing shop. The
Bloodborne Pathogen course covers
1. Sanitation
2. Safety (including emergency procedures);
3. Infection
control
including
cross
contamination and barrier control; and
4. Sterilization including use of an autoclave.
The Basic First-aid course teaches how to
1. Recognize emergency situations;
2. Check the scene and call for help;
3. Avoid blood-borne pathogen exposure;
4. Care for wounds;
5. Manage sudden illnesses; and
6. Minimize shock.
These problems are real, according to my
pharmacist friend, who has seen many cases of
infection and blood poisoning stemming from tattoos.
Some other states have very tough requirements for
“skin artists”; we have none. Why not?”

Idaho Legislative
Update
By Idaho Senator Russ Fulcher - Kuna, Idaho
If you are hoping that
the 2015 legislature sets
forth a fiscal and socially
conservative agenda, you
could be disappointed.
It’s a new (non-election)
year, there’s a new class of
legislators, a little more tax
revenue coming into state
coffers, and a long-line of
stakeholders chomping at
the bit to get their way.
First, let’s talk budget: Look for leaders from
the executive and legislative branches to get an
early start by talking about tax-cuts. And they may
even deliver – perhaps some modest reduction in the
personal property and/or real property tax arena. But
while that is going on, a more subtle, and impactful
effort will be underway; a significant increase in user
fees and/or gas taxes to boost transportation funding.
There will also be a strong push to increase taxpayer
support for education and healthcare. Bottom line is
this: Overall, I think we taxpayers will have a heavier
burden after the session than we do now.
Second, will be in the area of social policy. A
coalition of activists, fresh off a string of successes the
in Oregon, Washington, and Colorado, will push for
the legalization of marijuana. Many will be from out
of state, and they will trumpet the potential benefits
of regulation and taxation while simultaneously
camouflaging the related social fall-out happening in
the aforementioned states.
Hearing(s) to consider the creation of a special
class for non-heterosexuals will also get airtime.
It may not pass this year, but the agenda of social
activists looking to restrict religious freedoms will be
advanced.
Expect to hear some activity related to the
enhancement of civil unions in Idaho. This will be
as a result of a recent federal court action, ruling
that Idaho’s constitutional language defining
marriage between one man and one woman – is
unconstitutional.
And then we have healthcare. If you thought
the government couldn’t get any more involved in
your personal healthcare decisions, wait until you
see what will be presented to Idaho lawmakers this
year. Medicaid expansion. Now, it won’t be called
“Medicaid expansion”…but rather it will receive a
title much more appealing to the conservative ear…
like “Medicaid reform”, or “Medicaid Freedom
Act”, or something like that. But no matter what it is
called, it will likely expand the Medicaid program as
we know it. You’ll be able to tell because more state
and federal debt dollars (ie: your tax money) will be
required to fuel it, you will have less control over the
way your healthcare dollars are spent, and it will be
more expensive. The legislation will be sold as a way
to “take advantage of more federal dollars coming
into Idaho”. Never-mind that the federal government
is $18 trillion in debt, and shortly after Idaho leaders
take the ($) bait, the bill will be transferred to the
state.
Here is what NOT to expect: Don’t look for
legislation that substantially re-directs the Common
Core agenda or Obamacare. Those topics are too
controversial and there is too much federal pressure
to leave them alone. Legislative leaders will likely
do what they can to keep discussions on these topics
as quiet as possible.
Also, don’t expect to see any meaningful move
to take advantage of the natural resources within
Idaho’s borders, 62% of which is controlled by the
federal government. The issue is complicated, and
the feds have succeeded in creating fear of retribution
should Idaho choose to boost economic independence
by harvesting more timber or minerals from federally

controlled lands.
So here is some encouragement to my friends
in state government about to enter the fray of the
legislative session: You don’t have to follow the
agenda put in front of you by organizations other
than your constituents. Please consider re-directing
the debate to REAL economic growth mechanisms –
like increasing access to STEM (science, technology,
engineering & math) education. Like forging MORE
access to the vast supply of natural resource wealth
under our feet…the resources that fuel high-value
manufacturing jobs. And like trimming back the
welfare system that has steadily increased in cost;
and in so doing burdened those who are working
while reducing incentives (to work) for those who
abuse the system.
It is my hope and encouragement that you will
empower Idaho’s teachers and parents by offering an
alternative to the Common Core Education agenda.
You can do that by eliminating the mandate that
our children be measured with the SBAC (smarter
balance assessment consortium) test, and their
personal information be indefinitely logged within
government databases.
Please remember that the religious freedoms
we enjoy are foundational to our laws, social order,
and economic prosperity. And please don’t replace
those freedoms with legal mandates driven by social
minorities seeking to do so via the creation of new
special class status.
One last thing for your consideration: Energy
is our ticket to state, and national economic
independence. Because of the energy development
policies adopted in states like North Dakota and
Texas, America is paying less for fuel today than
any time over the last eight years. We don’t have to
export our energy dollars to countries that hate us…
and people who are trying to kill us. We can keep that
money in Idaho and in America, and use it to develop
our economy and pay down our debts.
You can do it. We can do it. May God Bless
Idaho, and God bless America.

Standing Together News Utah Update
By Rev. Greg Johnson - Lehi, Utah
8th Annual Christmas Gift Luncheon
Blesses Utah Pastors
Pictured above: 28 Utah Pastors are guests of Standing
Together at Brio’s welcoming guest speaker, Rev. John Jenkins
from Maryland
On December 17th, Standing Together hosted
one of our most important events of the year, our
“Christmas Gift Luncheon,” for pastors that walk in
unity with each other all year long! We do our best to
thank these Kingdom minded pastors and encourage
them in their daily call to serve as Christian leaders in
Utah. These pastors are awesome! They come from
big churches and small, black, white, and brown
churches, traditional and contemporary churches,
charismatic and non-charismatic churches, rural and
urban churches, but together they are leaders of the
One Church of Jesus Christ in Utah and they serve
Him together to advance His Kingdom in our state!
We love these pastors, we pray for them, and ask God
to protect them and their families and increase their
impact upon their communities.
Standing Together is Honored to Welcome Rev.
John Jenkins and wife Trina to Utah!
Pictured above: Rev. John Jenkins, wife Trina, and Greg and
Jill meet with LDS Apostle (center) Elder L. Tom Perry
Standing Together was truly honored to host
Pastor John Jenkins and his wonderful wife Trina
from the 1st Baptist Church of Glenarden, Maryland
in Utah last week. We invited John to speak to our
pastoral network at our Christmas Gift Luncheon and
to engage with some of our strategic relationships
here in Utah. It was a joy for Jill and I to host John
and Trina and to arrange a meeting with them and
LDS Apostle L. Tom Perry. Our time with Elder Perry
was fruitful and strategic. In addition, I was able to
arrange a meeting between John and Governor Gary
Herbert and I sensed our Governor truly appreciated
the visit from such an important national Christian
leader. Pastor Jenkins, who serves with Greg on the
board of the National Association of Evangelicals,
was also interviewed by the Deseret News for a
positive article on Christian unity among pastors.
Once again, the Lord said “Yes” to Utah and sent one
of His finest, the Rev. John Jenkins, to experience
Utah, to gain a heart and burden for Utah, and to
bless Utah with his insight, wisdom, and leadership
gifts. Thank you Lord for bringing such incredible
national leaders to Utah to bless this culture and this
place with Your witness.
The Johnson Family Attends Annual Christmas
Party at the Governor’s Mansion
The Christmas Holiday Season brings wonderful
Pictured above: Gov. & Mrs. Herbert, Greg, California, Jill,

opportunities for our ministry to advance our
influence among various leaders in our state. This
season brought us a first ever invitation to attend
the opening night of the Festival of Trees which is
a huge Christmas fund raiser for Primary Children’s
Hospital of Salt Lake City. Greg interviewed one
of the four co-chairs of the annual event on his
TV show and she invited he and Jill to attend this
wonderful community event. The next evening our
family was honored to be guests of our Governor at
the annual Christmas Open House at the Governor’s
Mansion. We presented our Governor with a special
daily devotional for 2015 and had a wonderful time
enjoying the Christmas treats that were provided.
Additionally, we were guests of the LDS Church
once again to attend the Mormon Tabernacle Choir
Christmas Concert with special guests from Sesame
Street including Big Bird, Bert and Ernie, Elmo, and
Cookie Monster. We are truly humbled at the many
amazing opportunities that the Lord gives us to be
ambassadors for Jesus Christ and representatives of
the evangelical community before the leaders of our
state.
If you could, join in prayer for the following...
• Please pray for Greg and three other Utah
pastors (Mike Imperiale from 1st Presbyterian
Church, Ira Popper of Adventure Draper,
and Chad Jacobson from City Church) as we
journey to Israel together as guest of CUFI in
mid January with other pastors from Nevada,
Arizona, and New Mexico.
• Pray for our weekly TV Outreach programs:
“What’s Up Utah” and “This Week in the
Word”
• Pray for Standing Together’s upcoming
Friendship Lunch with Bishop Wester of the
Catholic church and other Catholic leaders
from around Utah on January 27th.
• Pray for Greg’s role as an Executive
Committee member of the World Congress of
Families IX, which is being held in October
of 2015 and will be the first time that it will
be held in the USA.
• Pray for Utah pastors that have moved to
serve God in other places. This year, the
Lord has moved Travis Mitchell, Mark
Gering, Jeff Nellermoe, and Jeremy Bair to
new places of service. We bless them as they
go, with heavy hearts, and pray that their
replacements will stand for unity in Utah.
A special note from the Board of Directors of
Standing Together:
As the Board of Standing Together, we wanted
to share with you our desire to assist the Johnson
family in the acquiring of a new family vehicle.
Their current van, purchased used in 2007, is a 2005
Town and Country Mini Van with nearly 250,000
miles on it. If you would like to contribute a special
gift to Standing Together that would be earmarked
as a gift to the Johnson’s for a new family vehicle
or perhaps might be able to donate a used family
vehicle in good condition, we would welcome you to
do so. If you have any questions about this, feel free
to contact our Board Chairman, Pastor Bill Young of
the Rock Church or Board Member Pastor Jim Ayers
of Life Church at 801-891-4745 or 801-541-2098
respectively.

Raymond Strom is currently President and
owner of Calgary Rock and Materials Services Inc.,
established in 1998. Early in his life, Ray understood
that the farming he grew up with in his early life
would not become his career. In 1971, he earned his
Chemistry Diploma, and then worked for ten years at
the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, where
he acquired a diverse variety of technical skills. In
1980, he joined Amoco Canada Petroleum Company
Limited as a Geological Technical Specialist, working
primarily in the area of scanning electron microscopy
(SEM) and eventually became Supervisor of the
Canada lab operation.
In 1998, with the merging of Amoco Corporation
with a larger multi-national company, the opportunity
became available to establish an independent lab
based on the Amoco laboratory precursor. Ray has
been interested in and involved in research associated
with origins as well as current geology research
on specific formations in the southwestern United
States. Ray is a member of the Geological Society
of America and is also a board member of the Home

42nd Annual March for Life Thursday
Continued from Page 3
is the killing of a human being. It produces severe
psychological and emotional consequences. We can
ask the children to forgive us, but the children are
dead. They say - Alone, I was born. Alone, I shall
die. We must also ask Almighty God to forgive us
for what we have done. We must repent of our action
as a nation in allowing this holocaust to come to our
shores. We have to turn from our wicked ways.
Senators, I urge you to examine your own
conscience before Almighty God. God is willing and
able to forgive you. He sent His own son Jesus Christ
to die on the cross for my sins as Roe of Roe v. Wade,
and for our sins in failing to act to end abortion and
to truly help women in crisis pregnancies. I finally
asked the Lord Jesus to forgive me in 1995 and
immediately dedicated my life to saving children’s
and women’s lives. In the year 2000, I met the
lawyers from The Justice Foundation, Allan Parker
and Clayton Trotter who are here behind me. I asked
them to help me to reverse Roe v. Wade legally. We
began collecting evidence from women about the
devastating consequences of abortion in their lives.
Women are very reluctant to speak about this horrible
act which is a crime against humanity. In many cases
the denial goes on for decades before they break.
Women who have had an abortion often can’t
even tell their husbands, parents, family, friends or
even their physicians or clergy. It is like a time bomb
in the heart of every woman who’s had an abortion.
Eventually we collected almost 1,500 affidavits and
filed a motion to reverse Roe v. Wade. As part of my
statement to you today, I am enclosing summaries of
those women’s affidavits along with pictures of some
of the women so you can see what abortion does to
real women. I am also going to file copies of all the
affidavits collected. Also behind me today are some
of those witnesses whose affidavits were before the
Supreme Court and I would like to ask them to stand
at this time.
These women hurt by abortion have formed a
movement they call Operation Outcry to cry out to
you, to the courts and to God Almighty to end this
scourge of abortion in our nation. The Rev. Martin
Luther King and the Southern Christian Leadership
Conference helped lead America non-violently to
end the scourge of segregation. When slavery was
constitutional, we treated one class of humans as
property. We are treating the humans in the mother’s
womb as property and less than human when we say
it is OK to kill them. How can we have life, liberty,
and the pursuit of happiness, when we have death by
abortion? I have also included an essay on the Scott
Peterson double-murder conviction which asks how
one baby is a person that can be murdered but not
another. On February 22, 2005, the Supreme Court
declined to take my case. I was good enough for
the courts when they wanted to impose abortion on
America, but I wasn’t good enough when I asked
them to look at the hard evidence of what they have
done to America. The Supreme Court of the United
States should be ashamed of itself. It has taken this
matter of abortion away from the states, the people,
and the legislatures, but it refuses to look at the
evidence of what it has done. How shameful is that?
How can we have liberty without life? Every member
of the Supreme Court who supports Roe should be
impeached and I believe we should to limit the terms
of Supreme Court justices to 8 years.
The Supreme Court has hurt me and millions
of women and children. I urge you to do everything
in your power to reverse Roe v. Wade. Since the
Supreme Court did not reject our arguments, we are
continuing to bring those arguments before the court
in case after case after case, including Sandra Cano’s
case which is in the courts now. Please do not ask a
judicial nominee to pledge to maintain Roe v. Wade.
If new evidence comes before the court, then the court
should be willing change its old precedent, as it has
many times. Roe v. Wade is not in the Constitution.
It is just a bad Supreme Court decision with bad
effects and needs to be reversed. I also support a
constitutional amendment to protect all human life.
I am also attaching a copy of my 13-page affidavit
which was filed in our lawsuit to reverse Roe v.
Wade. Some things should never be allowed, even
if we want to do them. Murder is one, child abuse is
another and allowing abortionists to harm women is
another. Thank you, Senators.

About Foundations

Continued from Page 17
What is the purpose? To lead people to a better
understanding of God by viewing His Creation and to
show that creation science can explain the evidence
we see in the world around us and that it is not just
religion.
Dear Fellow Creationists:
•Have you ever seen a fourteen foot tall
mammoth?
•Have you ever been up close to a Stegosaurus?
•Have you ever tried to imagine what a
Psittacosaurus (the dinosaur that rocked the scientific
world in 2005) looked like?
Our dream for the Treasure Valley of Idaho is
to create a science museum where these questions
and more could be answered in an accessible and
interactive way. We want to present science not
only from the evolutionist paradigm shown in statecontrolled museums, but also show the compelling
censored science that those museums do not show, in
order to allow people to draw their own conclusions
about the origins of life.
As you may know, our goals are beyond what
we, as individuals, can do on our own. This means
that we must rely on our mighty God to accomplish
the task that he has set before us. This also means that
we must ask you for help.

Christians United for
Israel Pastor Trip to
Israel
Continued from Page 7
US, a Christian group of course. They had been there
or a week simply praying for the peace of Jerusalem
as well as eating and shopping at various local places.
The first of several meetings best described
as briefings took place as soon as we checked in.
A much decorated Israeli Sergeant spoke to us. He
had received permission to leave his battle position
near the Gaza Strip for just two hours. He briefed
us on different facts, informing us that more than
one million eight hundred thousand Arabs live in
the Gaza Strip. He estimated that the terrorist group
Hamas which officially governs the Strip consists of
about 20,000 armed men. Every person who briefed
us including the Arab journalist calls Hamas terrorists
and they also terrorize the Arabs in the Gaza Strip.
If anyone dares question their tactics or policies the
critics and their families are killed.
In other words there is no political group
representing the Arabs in the Gaza Strip who are
interested in any kind of peaceful solutions with
Israel.
Many of the Israeli citizens I met would love a
peaceful solution to the Gaza strip, Jerusalem and
surrounding nations. But there doesn’t seem to be
any official Arab group who wants anything except
Israel to be wiped off the map and the Jews as a
people group eliminated.
The last briefing we received before heading
back to the States was with the Arab journalist who
works for the Jerusalem Post newspaper. In his
opinion there was no possible way to negotiate with
any group of Arabs because if they even suggested
a peaceful compromise with Israel they would be
removed from their political position and possibly
even killed.
This same journalist heavily criticized American
foreign policy in the way they almost constantly
disagree with Israel. He also stated there is no Arab
nation where he would be allowed to report the news
the way he can in Israel. And no way as a citizen of
any Arab nation would he or she be allowed to have
a differing opinion from the people in power, the way
he can in Israel.
I believe I made some life long friends on this
trip and I thank God for that and for the opportunity
to finally visit the Holy Land. Join with me in praying
for the peace of Jerusalem.

COLORADO
From Denver Rescue Mission - Denver, Colorado
Eric
Eric’s favorite story is about starfish. It goes like
this: There was a man taking a walk along the beach
one morning, and he saw a woman in the distance,
seemingly dancing. As he got closer, he realized that
she was throwing something out into the sea. Closer
still, he saw the objects she was throwing: starfish—
thousands upon thousands of them. He approached
her and said, “You can’t possibly make a difference
here. There are so many of them!” She picked up a
single starfish, threw it into the ocean and said, “I
made a difference for that one.” It’s a simple story,
but a powerful one.
When Eric talks to others about Denver Rescue
Mission’s donors, he always tells this story. He feels
like one starfish that a donor cared about. “They
don’t know who I am. They have no reason to help
me. I could never repay them. There is honestly no
monetary gift I could give to repay what they’ve
given me,” Eric says, choking back tears.
The way the Mission has impacted Eric’s
life is so evident. He can barely finish a sentence
without referencing it. After prematurely leaving the
program in 2009, he graduated in March of 2014.
His graduation did not come without significant
effort on his part and a community of staff, program
participants and donors to carry him through.
“While I was at the Farm the first time, I really
wanted to be sober. It was all I could think about. But
I was trying to make the things they said and did fit
into my life. I didn’t fail because the Farm failed. I
failed because I was trying to manipulate sobriety,”
he remembers.
After leaving, his addiction progressed. He was
in the hospital 20 times in one year, going through
withdrawal each time. He was on the brink of death.
“I wanted to stop, but I couldn’t. I wanted my
life to be normal. I wanted the consequences of my
drinking to be gone, but I didn’t want to take the
steps to make that happen. I wanted to keep drinking.
Until you’re done, you’re not done. This was my life
until 2013 when I came here the second time,” Eric
explains.
He continues: “This time, I didn’t care what
anyone said or asked of me, I would do it. My
ego was gone. Addicts have this amazing egotism,
myself included. My success was a result of absolute
commitment. I was done.” Eric had to get over
himself before he could get over his addiction. He
felt different this time, surrendered. And staff saw a
distinct change in him, too. “The first time Eric was
here, he wanted to have the program happen to him.
The second time around, he didn’t just passively take
in what was happening but actively participated. He
really radically changed. He took instruction, listened
and applied it very well,” says Brad Rhoda, Manager
of Operations at the Farm.
The Farm employees were a crucial piece of
Eric’s recovery: “The staff and the people here are
amazing. What makes this place is relationships. If
you need sobriety, you can go to AA. There are many
ways to find sobriety. But I needed my life to change;
I needed it to turn around. They call it the New Life
Program, and it’s true, I have a new life.”
Eric used to pray each night, asking God to take
away his addiction, hoping to wake up and be healed.
“What I didn’t realize was that God does take it away,
but I had to do the work. Being with God doesn’t
mean that things are easy. But now, it’s not more than
I can handle,” he explains.
Eric has done very well since graduating. He got
his old job back and has stable housing living with
another
New Life program graduate. He credits the Farm
for all of this success: “The Farm is the catalyst for
all that to occur. In the chaos of the world, I couldn’t
find peace. I couldn’t stop or slow down enough.
The Farm took care of my basic needs and gave me
relationships that showed me that I’m not defined by
my alcoholism—I’m defined by my relationship with
Jesus Christ.”
Eric recognizes the value of each dollar given to
the Mission. He knows the support he received at the
Farm came from people like you, people who care.
Thank you for believing in Eric and for supporting
Denver Rescue Mission!

From Boise Rescue Mission - Boise, Idaho
Art
I wish you all could have the opportunity to
get to know Art, Boise Rescue Mission Ministries’
2014 Veteran of the Year. In spite of the dark times
he has come through, he is a man who is full of joy
and compassion, and that, in large part, is thanks to
donors like you.
While he and I talked, I was reminded of Isaiah
9:2. “The people walking in darkness have seen
a great light; on those living in the land of deep
darkness a light has dawned.” Donors like you make
it possible for us to shine a light every day in the
darkness of homelessness and addiction. Art would
tell you that your generosity saved his life.
When Art was in high school, he hated the war in
Vietnam. He says with a smile, “I was a child of the
sixties; peace, love, all of that.” Then, at eighteen,
he was drafted. He chose to follow in his father’s
footsteps and joined the Marines. Just five days after

“Carols at the Capitol” in Three Mountain States
by Pastor Gina Gibson, National Area Leader for National Day of Prayer - Laramie, Wyoming
On a recent trip to
Hollywood, CA, our
National Day of Prayer
intercessors
became
acquainted with Andrea
O’Brien,
founder
of
“Carols at the Capitol.”
Andrea told us that
“Carols at the Capitol”
began at her own State
Capitol,
Sacramento,
CA in 2013. The birth
of this event began with
an amazing “visitation”
from the Lord on August
14, 2013. In Andrea’s
own
words:
“Sound
asleep in the middle of
the night on August 14th,
the Lord spoke to me in a very clear and precise
voice. ‘Andrea, enter My courts with praise!’” The
Lord spoke to Andrea a second time repeating these
words. And then the Lord appeared in an amazing
vision to Andrea. She says, “I was immediately
awakened and when I opened my eyes, the Lord
was standing next to my bed looking down upon me.
He said, ‘The California State Capitol is the highest
court in California. Enter its courts with Christmas
worship!’” (to read Andrea’s testimony in its entirety,
go to: www.carolsatthecapitol.com/#about)
Many of us were very moved by Andrea’s
testimony. When I received a special phone call from
Andrea inviting our Mountain States to participate, I
felt encouraged and compelled. Could our Mountain
States plan events like this at our State Capitols
during the busy Christmas season? I encouraged
the States that I oversee (MT,UT,WY,CO,AZ,NM)
to prayerfully consider this. I knew that the Lord
was telling me to plan an event in WY even if only
a handful could show up. It seemed urgent that we
invite Christ to visit our Capitol this year.
Our Mountain States of Montana, Colorado and
Wyoming each had a “Carols at the Capitol” event.
Arizona had planned to participate, but had to cancel
their event due to inclement weather. Montana
decided to do the event inside their Capitol on Friday,
December 12th.
Diane Hoffman our NDP Montana Coordinator
shared this story about their event:
“Montana’s Carols at the Capitol 2014 was held
on Friday, December 12th at 12:00 noon until 1:00
p.m. The event was held in the capitol rotunda with
approximately 140 in attendance.
The scripture verse, Isaiah
9:6 & 7, also was brought
to the forefront.
The Montana Carols
at the Capitol Committee
was formed to help make
the carol choices from
the Song Booklet, seek
the music leaders and
do media promotions.
Eighteen songs were
selected with many having
the accompaniment of
either a guitar, a key board,
a saxophone, percussion,
or bells.
The
committee
music coordinator was
Tara Logan, who has ffortissimamusic as her music
business and organized the order of the songs and
the song leaders of each carol. Those who lead the
songs were individual vocalist, children, duets, trios
and one family of 8 members singing song selections
for the prelude and the program. The Welcome was
by committee member, Matt Hoffman. He opened at
noon reading the carol history from the song booklet
“I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day.” The program
commenced then with the same song by the Nickerson
Family playing bells and singing the song. Each song
leader encouraged the attendees to join in on each
song and they did with great enthusiasm. The song
booklet was made available to those in attendance.
The sound in the rotunda was beautiful and
echoed throughout the capitol. Many state workers
came out of their offices and stood in the balconies
overlooking the rotunda. We could see that many
were joining in on the singing.
It was such a blessing for all and we can only
hope that we brought Glory to God.”
all 50 States and even abroad in the future. Join her in
praying that Christ would be invited to our Capitols.
Consider planning an event in your State in 2015!

Thanks to everyone who came out! It sounded

We promoted the scheduling of the event as 1212-12. December, the 12th month, the 12th day and
the 12th hour. It was after the date was set that we
looked into the significance of the number 12. The
number twelve biblically is considered a perfect
number. It can symbolize God’s power and authority
and can serve as a perfect governmental foundation.
Our events in Wyoming and Colorado were
smaller than that in Montana with 20-25 at each event.
But the smaller numbers did not deter us and we felt
the Lord’s presence in song and great fellowship
with those gathered. This year there were “Carols
at the Capitol” events in more than 25 States. The
Lord has given Andrea a big vision to see events in

Hint to Obama: Nearly all Syrian rebels are
Muslim extremists working in collusion, using
our money and weapons to exterminate religious
freedom.
Then his A.G. Eric Holder was surprised to learn
“fighters from Europe and the United States who
are supporting violent insurgents in the Syrian civil
war are joining forces with Yemeni bomb makers,”
reported HuffPo.
Hint to Holder: It was Obama’s CIA that sent
those weapons, reports the NY Times.
“In some ways, it’s more frightening than
anything I think I’ve seen as attorney general,”
Holder said on ABC’s “This Week,” broadcast.
[Dr. Chaps’ comment: Let me get this straight.
Four liberal papers, The WashPo, HuffPo, NY Times,
and MSNBC all agree that 1) Obama is funding the
rebels, 2) Holder is surprised about that, and now
3) Obama wants to “destroy” the rebels. BUT HE
STILL WANTS TO FUND THEM? Maybe he should
first stop weaponizing enemies of religious freedom!]

Victory! Jesus and Bible OK for Air Force Cadets
After cadets at the Air Force Academy
were censored for posting Bible verses on the
erasable white-boards outside their rooms, YOU
PETITIONED, and Congress took action.
Now the U.S. Air Force has repented, and
changed AFI 1-1, which had restricted Christians, but
now specifically allows airmen to talk about Jesus
Christ in uniform.
“The Air Force’s revised regulations governing
religious expression contain a new clause guaranteeing
airmen ‘the right to individual expressions of
sincerely held beliefs,’ reports MilitaryTimes.
‘The revision to Air Force Instruction 1-1 was
approved Nov. 7, and the Air Force said the revisions
will ‘clarify guidance for how commanders should
handle religious accommodation requests or when
airmen’s rights to free exercise are questioned.’”
“Mike Berry, senior counsel and director of
military affairs for the Liberty Institute, a nonprofit
organization that supports religious freedom, said in
a Nov. 13 interview that the change brings the Air
Force in line with Defense Department instruction
1300.17. Under the new rule, Berry said, the
Air Force will only be able to deny an airmen the
right to exercise his beliefs if there is a compelling
government interest.
[Dr. Chaps’ comment: One reason DoDI 1300.17
is stronger is that YOU faxed Congress who changed
federal law, forcing the Pentagon to revise 1300.17
to enhance freedom. Now thank God, AFI 1-1 has
also been softened after repeatedly being used to
threaten airmen with court-martial if they dare talk
about Jesus Christ. THIS IS PROOF YOUR FAX
PETITIONS ARE WORKING.]
Let’s petition Congress to make that law even
stronger for chaplains and troops:

Military: No Bible verses allowed in Paper.
Take action!
The commander of an Ohio Air National Guard
unit has censored his subordinates and forbidden them
to print Bible verses in a newspaper, violating their
First Amendment rights and essentially requiring
they only express atheism in public.
Lawyers at Alliance Defending Freedom explain:
“Here’s what happened. The Stinger, a newsletter
of the Guard’s 180th Fighter Wing, commanded by
Col. Craig R. Baker, includes a monthly informational
column called ‘Commander’s Comments.’ Recently,
Col. Florencio Marquinez, the Commander of the
Fighter Wing’s Medical Group, volunteered his
views in the September, 2014 edition of The Stinger.
“That’s when the problem started. A civilian
complained about Col. Marquinez’s article, claiming
it to be ‘odious’ and ‘offending.’ Now, those are pretty
harsh words. Surely the article must have been really
bad. It must have advocated something horrible. So
what was it that got the civilian so upset?”
Watch! Dr. Chaps’ 7-minute TV commentary
on why Colonel Baker censored his subordinate and
deleted Bible verses from his news article-->
“It was simply this: that Col. Marquinez
recognized that military service brings many
challenges, and for him, his faith in Christ helped
keep him on the right path. Noting that our nation
proclaims ‘In God We Trust,’ he suggested that
personal faith could also bring value...
“That’s it. That’s what was ‘offending’ and
‘odious.’ That’s what got the civilian so worked up...
Col. Baker ordered the newsletter to be republished,
with the ‘offending’ and ‘odious’ piece removed.”
That’s clearly censorship of the Bible and his
subordinates.
TAKE ACTION! Call the base operator at
419-868-4250. Press option 1, (“locating an ID
card number or phone number”), then press option
2, (“locating a phone number”). That transfers you
to the operator, and you can ask to be transferred to
Col. Craig R. Baker, commander of the 180th Fighter
Wing. Ask him three questions:
1. Why did you censor the Bible verses from
your subordinate’s article in the paper?
2. Are you a domestic enemy of the
Constitution?
3. Why are you forcing atheism upon your
subordinates?
Anybody who makes that phone call, then emails
me what he says (and your mailing address), will get
a free copy of my book “The Demons of Barack H.
Obama.”
WE HEREBY INVITE COLONEL BAKER
OR HIS SPOKESMAN TO APPEAR ON OUR TV
SHOW TO EXPLAIN. Call me at 1-866-Obey-God
to schedule.
Let’s petition Congress to stop threatening troops
and chaplains for expressing their faith.
God Bless you, in Jesus’ name,

InterMountain Rescue Mission Testimonies
Continued from Page 19
he finished basic training, he got orders to ship out to
Vietnam.
Art finished two tours of duty in Vietnam, with
two of those years spent in the jungle. He tells me he
started using heroin while he was there and says, “At
the time, I think it allowed me to do what I had to do,
but I came back to the States all messed up. I was a
drug addict and an alcoholic.”
Like many of our Vietnam vets, Art’s memories
of the war are still painful and raw, and he struggles
to talk about his experiences. “I was young and naïve
when I went over. I was a kid. There were so many
kids there, and we saw a lot of traumatic stuff, terrible
things! It changed my view of the world.”
That is the most he can bring himself to share
about that time in his life. He tells me he stills feels
guilty that he came back alive.
But what he returned to in the States, in some
ways, made things worse. Instead of a hero’s
welcome, Art says people hated him. “When I first
came back, one woman actually spat on me.” He was
hurt and angry and leaned even heavier on alcohol.
Art gets choked up when he tells me his thinking
was so confused that he shut off communication with
his family, believing somehow that he was doing
them a favor. He says he did not realize that, over the
years they didn’t hear from him, his two sisters had
been searching for him, worried that he was dead, or
in jail.
He says, “When I came to the Mission, I returned
to God, my heart opened back up and, honestly, I got
lonely. I am an older man and I realized that family
means everything. With the VA’s help, I found my
sisters and now that I have my family back, I love it!”
Art tells me that he had been able to get clean
and sober once before for a stretch of about seventeen
years. But when he started drinking again, he quickly
lost control of it. Within three years, he had been
arrested twice for driving while under the influence
of alcohol. The second arrest was the one that got his
attention.
“I hit a parked car and, in that moment, I realized
it could just as easily have been a person.” He knew
he needed to find a place that would help him stay
sober.
“I came to the River of Life Rescue Mission
because I knew it would be a safe environment; a safe
haven that would help me put my life back together.”
He says once he was here, some of the first needs that
were met for him were very practical.
“When I came to the Mission, my dentures were
broken and I didn’t know how to get new ones. They
helped me get them replaced through the VA, and
helped me get glasses too.”
Within the security of the Mission, Art says he
was able to develop a new mindset. He says, “I’m
not a social drinker, I’m an alcoholic. For me, one
drink is too many and a thousand is not enough. With
God’s help, I will never take another drink! My mind
is clear and my family has been restored to me. I have
compassion for others again. Life is good, I’m not
going back to what it was.”
Art tells me the Veterans Ministry Program
was exactly what a proud man like him needed to
get back on his feet. He says, “This community, the
Mission, loves vets. Rev. Roscoe, being a vet himself,
understands and cares. He wants vets to find their
self-respect again, that’s what it is.”
He says, “It humbles me to know that I was here,
that I needed this much help. It shocks me to know
that there are a lot of people that actually care.” Most
of all, Art tells me that he is grateful to be reconnected
with his Savior. “Drugs and alcohol took me away,
but, in spite of that, He has truly blessed me. Through
the Mission, I found a beautiful church family. I am
sober now and the Mission helped me save enough to
get my own apartment. I have nothing but praise for
this place, for what they have done for me. They gave
me a hand up, not a hand out. That’s all I needed.”

From Rescue Mission of Salt Lake - Salt Lake
City, Utah
Joseph
My name is Joseph Johnson and thanks to the
Rescue Mission of Salt Lake, I have hope.
I was out of hope two years ago when I slit my
wrists inside a dingy motel room along North Temple
Street on the west side of Salt Lake. But everything
changed when I came to the Rescue Mission of Salt
Lake on November 4, 2013.
Sobriety, A Job and New Hope
One of the biggest ways the Mission helped me
was by giving my life meaning again. After my wife
lost a three-year battle with cancer in 2008, I slowly
fell into a deep depression, culminating in the day I
decided to kill myself.
But at the Rescue Mission, I was surrounded by
a community of people focused on a noble purpose
– taking care of the homeless. So for me, one of the
most important parts of the New Life Program was
the work therapy component, removing the focus
from myself and forcing me to consider the plight of
people worse off than I was.
For those who might not know, each person in
the New Life Program has assigned work therapy
responsibilities. Some people serve in the homeless
dorm, making beds, washing sheets and collecting
clothing. Others serve in the kitchen, preparing meals
for the hundreds of hungry people who come to the
Mission.
I was recruited to help run the front desk. I checked
in people for the night, helped the homeless get the
services they needed and scheduled volunteers. I felt
that what I was doing had value, and it felt great to
serve others. It seemed like many of the homeless
people who came through the door really appreciated
my help.
Looking back, I probably benefited the most
from my responsibilities. It had been so long since
I felt needed and was doing something significant.
I finally had some value again. People depended on
me. I couldn’t slack off or I would be letting down
our whole team and the people we served.
The value I gained at the Rescue Mission grew
into a sense of accomplishment. So when it was time
for me to find a job outside the Rescue Mission,
my desire to accomplish grew. I found an opening
for a job that I really wanted. It was performing
technical support for a network systems company.
The company contracts with different public and
private groups to provide support for different online
functions and internal networking.
I was good at this kind of work as I had been an
avionics expert in the Air National Guard and knew
about internal computer systems and processes. But
it was a hard job to get. I interviewed several times
over the course of two months. During those months
22 - 1-2.2015 / InterMountain Christian News
I had other job offers to work at retail electronics
stores, but I turned them down in hopes of obtaining
a job that paid a living wage.
I also realized that I needed a sense of purpose
if I was going to stay sober, and I really felt like
having a job that challenged me would make a big
difference in my long-term success. Finally, after all
the interviews, phone calls and waiting, I was hired.
Today, I love my job and I love helping people
solve complex systems questions. It’s fun and I really
feel like people need me and depend on me.
Struggling to Find Hope
Thanks to the help I received at the Rescue
Mission, my life is totally different from a year ago.
I am even rebuilding relationships with my two adult
step-children with whom I had struggled to keep in
touch after their mother died of cancer six years ago.
It was the end of that three-year cancer battle that sent
me spiraling into homelessness and hopelessness. If
you have never lost someone close to you – to cancer
or another illness – you might find it hard to relate
to my story, but my wife’s battle with cancer and
eventual death broke me.
Even before she died, alcohol and drug use had
been part of my life. We both drank too much and
sometimes used drugs, but we were always able to
have good jobs and raise our children. However,
when my wife was in the late stages of her cancer,
she drank until she passed out each night. She just
could not endure the pain. She said it didn’t matter
if she drank herself to death because she was dying
anyway.
Each night I would pick her up off the floor and
put her to bed. When I tried to make her stop drinking,
we would get into fights. She felt like I couldn’t relate
to what she was going through, and I felt like she
couldn’t relate to what I was going through. I told
her, “you don’t have cancer, our whole family has
cancer!” And that’s what it felt like.
It was so hard at the end that we separated and
were living in different homes when she died. The
whole experience was devastating. After she died,
I started drinking more and more. While I still held
down my job as the manager of an electronics store, I
was coming to work hungover every day. At night, I
was so disinterested in life that I just got drunk until
I fell asleep.
By January of 2012, I had lost my job and
couldn’t pay rent. I was evicted and for the first time
in my life I had nowhere to go. I was so depressed
that I couldn’t really take care of myself, and I was so
isolated that I really had no friends or family to turn
to. Since it was winter and freezing, I did the only
thing I could. I went to the public housing shelter.
It was shocking to be homeless and the shock
breathed a little life into me. I went out, got a job and
saved up some money. After I had saved up enough, I
secured a long-term rental at a dumpy hotel on North
Temple in Salt Lake.
The motel wasn’t much better than the public
housing shelter. I never knew when one of my
neighbors might fly off the handle, bust into my room
and try to hurt me. The one thing that was good about
the public housing shelter was that they made sure no
one had any alcohol inside. That rule helped me stay
sober. But once in my own motel room, I returned to
drinking a bottle a day.
By April of 2013, I had completely run out of
hope. With my last little bit of money, I bought a cell
phone as a present for my 22-year-old step-daughter
and made plans to take my own life. I cut and cut on
my wrists as I drank and slowly waited to bleed to
death. But in the morning, I woke up again. I hadn’t
lost enough blood and my wounds were already
healing.
I didn’t want the maid to find me, so I called the
police, who checked me into the psychiatric evaluation

facility at the University of Utah. I transitioned into
some temporary housing, but still was as lonely and
depressed as ever.
The Help I Needed
In November, someone told me about the Rescue
Mission. While I was leery about joining the New
Life Program because it was a one-year commitment,
I decided to give it a shot.
Through the Bible studies, counseling sessions,
work therapy and meeting with my community
mentor – Scott Price – my life has changed. I don’t
have thoughts of killing myself anymore. And with
more success and sobriety, I feel like I can be a father
to my step-children again. They have already lost a
mother; they shouldn’t have to lose their father as
well.
So moving forward, my goals are simple: I want
to continue succeeding at my job and stay sober.
I look forward to graduating from the New Life
Program and getting my own apartment. Most of all,
I’m excited about repairing relationships with my
children and earning their respect.
I can’t say how thankful I am for the Rescue
Mission and all of its supporters. I truly believe
that without this place, I would be dead today. The
Mission was here when I was desperate and hopeless.
They gave me a new life, for which I am eternally
grateful.

Lea
When Lea and her
son’s father split up, she
could no longer afford
her home in Louisiana
where she was living
with their baby, 1-yearold Cutler. So when a
friend offered her a job
in Nevada, she was quick
to accept and began
making plans to move.
Cutler’s father agreed to
care for the baby for a
week while Lea moved and got settled. Instead, he
took the boy and disappeared. Lea was frantic, and
when she learned the two were in Casper, she drove
here immediately. She did not know anyone or have
much money so she was forced to sleep in her car.
She soon met a very kind investigator who agreed
to take her case and also directed her to CWRM.
Now with a safe place to stay she was able to find
a job and hire an attorney. “I jumped through every
hoop necessary, and within three weeks I had my son
back,” she shares. Cutler joined her in our shelter and
we helped the relieved but weary mother put her life
back together. “This place is a Godsend,” Lea says
about CWRM. “They supply me with diapers, they
feed us, they give us vouchers to the thrift store to
get clothes because I came here with only the clothes
I was wearing. They’re doing everything possible
to help us.” Lea was promoted to a management
position at her job and was soon able to pay off her
legal expenses. Recently she learned she has been
accepted for a low-income apartment. She plans to
further her education so she can get a better paying
job and perhaps build a career through her passion
for photography. She’s grateful for the foundation of
help, hope and friendship she’s found here at CWRM.
Central Wyoming Rescue Mission is a Christcentered, non-denominational ministry serving the
needs of hurting, homeless or addicted men, women
and children for over 20 years. One can receive
emergency services or long term recovery programs;
both include meals, safe shelter, clothing, and
compassionate case management. The Discipleship
Program includes biblical counseling to empower
individuals to live healthy productive lives. We do
not accept any government or other funding that
would compromise our ability to share the Gospel of
Jesus Christ. See more testimonies at CWRM.org or
call 307-265-2251 any time 24/7 for immediate help!
After arriving at the Mission, J.D. volunteered
to become the breakfast cook. He decided to cut
his bond with addiction and enrolled in the Setting
Captives Free course offered at the Mission. By
his third week here, J.D. had accepted Christ as his
Savior and was baptized.
J.D. successfully completed the course and has
been enjoying a life of long-term sobriety. Now, more
than one year later, JD has a job, a savings ac-count, a
vehicle and he continues to serve as a volunteer cook
at the Mission. And now, when asked what his future
looks like, J.D. smiles and says “my future is bright
in Christ.”
