The youth group is in full swing of preparing for their second trip to
camp. Many of the youth are very excited to be going back, and we
have several who are attending for the first time this summer! We
are still short of our fundraising goal, and plans for a last fundraiser
will be announced once they are scheduled. This year we have 14
youth attending camp, which is 5 more than we had last year! We are
all anticipating this wonderful experience of growth, discovery, and renewal in our faiths. We will be
attending camp July 19th-25th, so please keep the youth and leaders in your prayers during that time!
Also, many of the youth will be helping as leaders in VBS in July. This is another great time for the
youth to help teach the younger children what they have been learning, and learn to use their gifts
and talents to serve the church.
The youth will be helping to plan and lead some worship services this summer as well. The youth will
be helping with the worship service on July 19th following VBS, and also they will be planning and
leading the worship service on August 16th. During this time they will share with the congregation
what they learned from their week at camp, and show the congregation some of the songs and
scripture lessons that they learned while at camp!
Thank you so much for your continued support of our youth. We are truly grateful for allowing this
trip to camp to become a possibility. Thank you for your monetary donations to the youth, as well as
your words of encouragement and your prayers.

Volunteer Needs: Because you know “It takes a village,” or you’re looking for some way to give back to
community, or you just want to let the light of Jesus SHINE on our kids… Here are several ways you can help. Pick one
and call Maria at 630-808-2952 to get more info!
o Summer Sunday School Teacher/volunteers: It’s a One Room style again for the summer, in the Drama Room.
Please see Maria if you’d like to volunteer for this dynamic time 9-9:45am. We just need 1-3 more people to finish
covering the summer Sundays until August 23rd.
o Nursery/Toddler Room needs: 1) Volunteer: Sign up Coordinator is Cathy Kupisch, and the list is in the bulletin
each week. If you see the word “volunteer” – that means we need YOU that Sunday. But we’d love for it not to
say that. So please see Cathy or the Children’s Welcome Center has the sign up list, and fill in your name in the
empty slots, and email Cathy to let her know: [email protected]
2) Supplies Coordinator: OPEN – if you have a knack for figuring out supplies and seeing what the
nursery/toddler room needs, please see Maria.
o Vacation Bible School: 1) Decorators: Decoration Day is Sunday, July 12th 11:45-12:30pm.
2) Supply donators: See the bulletin insert for items needed, or take a tag on the wall by the sanctuary!
o School year Sunday School: 9-9:45am Teachers/volunteers needed: It takes at least 12-24 people to have it run
smoothly. We will form teams during the meetings, and you can figure out amongst yourself which Sundays are
better for you. Please attend the two Sunday School Volunteer meetings in the Toddler Room: Sunday, July 26th
11:45-12:45pm, AND Sunday, August 2nd 11:45-12:45pm.
o Children’s Ministry Member… Looking for a couple more thinkers: Our next Children’s Ministry meetings are
7 – 8pm on the following 6 Monday nights: July 27th, August 17th, September 21st, October 19th, November 16th,
and December 21st. If you are interested in helping plan any Children’s Ministry events, please come to these
meetings.
o MOPS needs: 1) Leader - if you are interested in arranging the once a month meetings September - August,
contact Maria. 2) Mentor Moms: We need people who’ve “been there, done that” give perspective to younger
moms and attend the regular meetings on Wednesday mornings once a month. Contact Maria.
o Rally Day planner: If you like to plan games and help watch kids in bouncy houses, here’s your chance! Please
attend the July 27th Children’s Ministry meeting 7-8:15pm, or contact Maria.

Christian Education offers the following classes:
•Starting 28 Jun 2015
•"Journey to Jesus: Building Christ-Centered Friendships with Muslims" by Roy Oksnevad
•The Pew Research Forum expects the population of Muslims in the US to double in the next two
decades. Muslims from around the globe are moving into our neighborhoods, working in the same
companies, and studying alongside us in schools. This is an amazing act of God as He is bringing precious
Muslims into our sphere of influence. Journey to Jesus is a six-session resource
that teaches Christians how to reach out to Muslims in friendship with the love of
Christ. Through high-quality live-action video dramatizations and engaging
teaching materials, your organization, family, small group, church, or Bible study
group will explore the culture and background of Muslims, as well as meet three
types of Muslims (refugees or new arrivals, culturally liberal, and conservative
Muslims). Journey to Jesus will equip, inspire, and encourage any Christian toward
successful conversations with Muslims to show the love of Christ.
•Sundays 9 am in the Library
Led by Mel and Nancy Gehrs
No class on July 5th
MAY 2015 FINANCIAL REPORT
May giving was ahead of last year at $3750 per week vs. $3675 per week last year. Our year-to-date
giving is $3786 per week vs. a budget of $4400 per week. Year to date giving is even with last year.
Building giving is near budget at $8200 vs. $7000 last year.
With several projects that we need to fund and General giving lagging, we will need to have a
fundraiser in the near future.
Expenses continue to be well managed with most categories below budget. Insurance is above
budget, however even with last year, so we may have mis-budgeted that category ($1900 variance).
We will need to maintain giving through the summer months as we do not want to lose further
ground to our budget.
Respectfully submitted,
Bruce Denby

PRAYER FOR OUR GRADUATES
God of truth and knowledge,
By Your wisdom we are taught the way
and the truth.
Bless these graduates as they now finish
this course of study.
We thank you for those who taught
and worked beside them,
And all who supported them along the way.
Walk with these graduates as they leave
and move forward in life.
Take away their anxiety and
confusion of purpose.
Strengthen their many talents and skills,
Instill in them a confidence
in the future You plan,
Where energies may be gathered up
and used for the good of all people;
For the sake of Jesus Christ.
Amen.
From our friends…
Dear Friends at Faith,
For 40 years we were active members of Faith
Church and have many fond memories:
singing in the choir under the direction of Rita
Carlson, teaching Sunday school for 31 years,
developing and directing the bus ministry,
developing and leading junior church as part of the
bus ministry (nearly 100 children each week),
active participation in the missions commission,
including particularly close association with
“Project Angel Tree” and the Chicago ministry of
Rev. Marian Tapé, establishing and directing “Faith
Players” with focus on children’s theater, serving as
delegate to the Northern Illinois Conference for
several years, serving as scoutmaster for Troop 84,
and finally, for the church’s 125th anniversary,
researching and publishing a church history with
documentation and pictures.
We will never forget these years and opportunities
for ministry at Faith Church. We read the monthly
church newsletter from cover to cover and take
note of the emailed requests for prayer. May God
bless you all as you continue to serve Him.
Love and in Christ,
Fred and Sharon Moore
