KESQ: Residents move into LGBT senior living village in Palm
Springs by Laura Yanez March 11, 2015
Welcome
New
“A senior living village for the LGBT community is calling itself the first of its kind in
the Southland. Stonewall Gardens [ ] is assisted living for seniors with a resort-style
twist.”
Residents!
“I moved in last Sunday. It was like I discovered the pot of gold," said resident Dick
Busby.
Dick, Jim, Ted
"It's beautiful, it's just beautiful. It's definitely not a motel anymore," said Harwick.
It’s Great to Have You!
"I'm very happy because gay people often times end up without a lot of family
they're in touch with, the older you get the more alone you are. It's really nice to
have a place that caters to the gay community so we have a place where you feel
comfortable," said resident Jim Crowley.

FRONTIERS: Palm Springs Gets New Assisted-Living Facility
Designed for Gay Seniors by Winston Gieseke March 23, 2015
Stonewall Gardens is not your average, run-of-the-mill Bingo-playing retirement
home. Rather, the 24-unit LGBT assisted-living village—the first of its kind in
Southern California—is a place where LGBT seniors can get whatever help they
need while enjoying a supportive environment celebrating their life experiences.
Bob, 57, Stonewall Gardens’ first resident, says he “absolutely loves” his new
home—especially the restaurant-quality food. [ ] They’re very accommodating here
and always open to suggestions.”
