FULL FACE RESPIRATOR
MULTI-LEVEL PROTECTION
The Scott Safety Promask Single is a multi-functional full
face respirator suitable for use with negative pressure and
powered air respirators.
HIGH CHEMICAL RESISTANCE
The facepiece is made from specially engineered halobutyl elastomer compound offering high resistance to
chemicals and aging. Easy to disinfect, decontaminate and
maintain, this respirator is ideal for use in a wide variety of
applications.
WIDE PANORAMIC VISOR
The Scott Safety Promask incorporates a wide panoramic
visor to maximise the field of vision and a front mounted
speech diaphragm for easy communication with
colleagues. An optional hard coated visor is available to
enhance resistance to scratching and solvents.
COMFORTABLE FIT
Proven in a wide variety of industrial applications, the
Promask utilises a T- bar sealing edge providing a highly
efficient seal with minimal pressure on the face. The
special transparent TPE inner mask reduces CO2 content
within the mask to a minimum, decreasing user fatigue.
Available in two sizes, medium (general size) and small to
suit a variety of face sizes.
FILTERS
The Promask Single utilises the comprehensive range of
Scott Safety Pro2000 filters for protection against a wide
range of respiratory hazards.

The Pro2000 range of particle, gas and combined filters have a
40mm thread connection with a selected number also approved
for use with Scott Safety Powered Air Respirators.
Contaminants are encountered in different forms, presenting either a particulate or
gaseous/vapour hazard. Different filters are required to protect against particles,
specific gases or a combination of both. The following table shows the colour coding,
filter type and main field of application for different respirator filters:
COLOUR
A fit test is a test carried out to
verify that a tight fitting respirator
issued to a worker actually fits that
person.
There are two basic methods,
qualitative (QLFT) and quantitative
(QNFT).
Qualitative methods rely on the
use of an innocuous contaminant,
which can easily be detected by
taste or smell.

P
Particles (solid/liquid particles, radioactive
particles, bacteria, fungi, viruses & enzymes)
AX
Gases/Vapours of organic compounds with
low boiling point <65°C
A
Gases/Vapours of organic compounds with
boiling point >65°C
B
Inorganic gases and vapours eg. Chlorine,
Hydrogen Sulphide, Hydrogen Cyanide
E
Acid Gases eg. Sulphur Dioxide, Sulphuric
Acid, Hydrogen Chloride
K
Ammonia & Organic Ammonia Derivates
Hg
Mercury Vapour
CO
Carbon Monoxide
NO
Nitrogen Oxides (includes Nitrogen Dioxide &
Nitric Oxide)
Quantitative methods use a
measurement of leakage, either
by using a contaminant, which
can be accurately detected or
by measuring an air leak directly.
Usually the leakage values can be
recorded, and there is no reliance
on the judgement of the wearer.
In both cases an attempt should be
made to simulate normal activities,
such as, a head movement and
talking, so that it can be shown
that the mask still retains an
adequate seal.
