como nosotros; vinieron de etnicidades diversas y orientaciones culturales;
comunidad.

DO YOU WANT TO READ THE BIBLE, BUT
DON’T KNOW HOW TO BEGIN? - If you have
ever wanted to read the Bible, but did not know where
or how to begin, then The Bible Timeline Parish Study
is for you. The Bible Timeline makes reading the Bible

understand the overview of the Bible story. This then
makes your Bible reading and even the Sunday Mass
readings come alive like never before.
The Bible Timeline will be offered at Madonna del
Sasso Parish in the Student Activity Center every
Thursday. Beginning at 6:30 pm, there will be a study/
workbook session. The video will
begin at 7:00 pm and from 8:00 to

Faith Formation...
Reflecting on God’s Word
Everyone seems to have a “to do” list. They help us
remember things we need to do. They help us set priorities as
we pick and choose which things to attend to and which to let
go. We can tell what our priorities are if we look at which
items stay on the list for a long time. We keep finding endless
reasons why we can’t get to the most difficult tasks just yet.
Maybe later. Or maybe never.
Discipleship is one of those difficult tasks that some of us
just never get around to doing. Like Elisha, or the people
Jesus speaks with in the Gospel, we are always tempted to do
something else first—get a decent job, buy a house, get in
shape, find a mate, raise our children, retire. But, also like
Elisha, we are called not to delay and not to look back. Jesus
tells us to delete everything else from our “to do” lists and
write just one thing: “Go and proclaim the kingdom of God.”

HELP THE WOMEN ON OUR STREET—There are
women in this town that need your help. They wait outside
Dorothy's Place every night until our Women Alive! Emergency
Shelter opens at 7:00 pm
because they have no other
place to go. More than you
would expect are seniors.
All are without a family to
support them. Each woman
drags her belongings and a
cot out of our shed to set up
her bed, her 'home', every
evening. Every morning at
6, she tears it back down
again and stuffs it back into
the shed. By 6:30, she's back on the street, and her 'home' reopens
as our Dayroom. Some of our ladies are exceptionally challenged
with physical and mental disabilities. This year, we added one
extra shelter aide to stay overnight, for safety. It was a good
decision. If you had to create your home every night, and tear it
apart every morning, would you start the day feeling secure? Able
to face your challenges? Probably not. That's why we need to do
better. And sooner, not later. We need money for more
well-trained staff. And we need a facility where a woman can get
a start on recreating her life, without having to recreate her
bedroom every night. Instead of going to a lot of expense to create
a fundraising event like we did last year, we'd like to ask people
like you to invest what they can now in the lives of these
women. Our goal is to raise $20,000 by June 30. And you don't
need to dress up fancy, find a babysitter or listen to long-winded
speeches about how much our ladies need your help. We think
you already know that. We're asking you to make an investment
(give money) AND to ask a couple friends to do the same. Truth
be known, if everyone asked all their friends to get online and just
donate what they could, our needs for more well-trained staff and
a new facility for our emergency shelter would probably be filled.
Listen to your creative voice - make it fun! Organize a
fundraising dinner party. Ask friends to sponsor your
participation in a sporting event. Issue a matching gift challenge
on Facebook. Go to Facebook now! You can make a recurring
monthly or quarterly donation by indicating your preference in
"special instructions to the seller" on the PayPal donation page.
Make sure you indicate your investment is for "Women Alive".
Investments of $100 or more will be offered a gift of thanks - a
handmade garden stepping stone with your choice of message,
created by our ladies in Women Alive! Please help us. We ask
this on behalf of the ladies you see here, and 188 other women
we served last year. We ask because we not only want them to
have a safe night's sleep, we want to provide better opportunities
to improve their lives. We promise to spend your investment
wisely, in the Women Alive! program, knowing that we are
simply stewards of your intentions to serve the most
disenfranchised people in our community. We're happy to
receive your check, or if you prefer to donate online with a credit
card (or PayPal), please click http://dorothysplace.org/donate.
