Costa Rica
is a wonderful tropical garden, located
between the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific del with still
undiscovered amazing natural wealth. White sand
beaches in the Pacific and dark sand beaches in the
Caribbean. Tortuguero, where giant green turtles come
to lay their eggs between the months of September and
October for thousands of years with unbelievable
regularity. The country has an incomparable nature
throughout the year and a temperature between 23 and 24 degrees Celsius in the
Centran Valley. It also has several still active volcanoes like the majestic Arenal Vocano,
the magnificent Irazú Volcano and other interesting volcanoes like the Poas and the
Rincón de la Vieja. The endless and wild beaches of the Pacific, extending from the
border with Panama to the border with Nicaragua. A whole unrivaled sunny world to
dicover.
San Jose Costa Rica Matathon is celebrated on December the 6th. Additionally to
the race, a half marathon, 10k and mini marathon (4-8 Km) are organized. From Viajes

marathon and, of course, the city of San Jose and its surroundings.

December 4th (Friday)
MADRID / SAN JOSE
Presentation at the Madrid Barajas Airport at 09.30h. Procedures for boarding and
billing rear exit, at 11:45 a.m., in Iberia flight to San Jose de Costa Rica.
Arrival to San Jose at 3:50 p.m. (local time). Baggage claim and support by personnel of
our organization.
Transfer by private bus to HOTEL CROWN PLAZA SAN JOSE CAROBICI 4 ****.
Reception and room layout.

December 5th (Saturday)
SAN JOSE
Breakfast at the hotel.
Free day in which we will have time to pick up the dorsal and enjoy the Runner´s fair.

SAN JOSE / TORTUGUERO
Breakfast at the hotel.
Departure by public transport to the Caribbean region to
discover the Tortuguero National Park. On the way we will
stop for a full breakfast.
On the way, the exuberant Braulio Carrillo park will be
crossed, then we will change the means of transport
because to get to your lodge, you will need to navigate
during 1h30 on waterways, this exotic cruise will allow you
to appreciate the fauna and flora of this area.
Lunch at the Lodge.

Afternoon dedicated to visit the village of Tortuguero.
Return to the lodge to enjoy its tranquility and pool.

December 8th (Tuesday)
TORTUGUERO
Breakfast at the lodge.
We dedicate this day to visit the park by boat, motor boats.
Boating on natural and artificial canals, bordering tropical
forests to observe the birds and animals that populate this
region (turtles, crocodiles, monkeys, sloths, parrots,
macaws, toucans, etc.)

December 9th (Wednesday)
TORTUGUERO / SARAPIQUI
Breakfast at the lodge.
You will leave the Caribbean region to reach the region of Sarapiqui.
Live the unforgettable experience to know the properties of the hearts
of palm. Well known as a gourmet food in many countries because of its
delicious taste and rich in fiber, calcium and vitamins. Palm planting has
become an extremely important economic activity for the Costa Rican
families, emerging as a development option through an agricultural
activity for female heads of household. Currently Costa Rica is the
world's leading exporter of canned palm, covering 55% of the consumer
market.
In the company of doña Maria and its demonstration of real work you
will learn about hearts of palm in harvest, growing and harvesting.
Finally, enjoy your meal in the rustic facilities of the plantation enjoying the variety of
dishes that Dona Maria and her family have prepared with this delicious product.

SARAPIQUI / ARENAL

Rafting on the Sarapiqui River
This tour departs from the facilities of Pozo Azul and runs
13 Km. to Chilamate. It has an average gradient of 1.2%
and can be run all year. To participate in this tour you do
not need experience, it is a very safe tour with several
accesses to the highway on the way tour and is in

constant communication with the base.
Lunch at Hacienda Pozo Azul.
Route to Arenal, crossing a large region of agriculture and ranching, where you can
observe the Arenal volcano.
Arrival to Arenal in the afternoon.

Sky Tram & Sky Trek
The tour of Sky Tram comes to an observation deck at
the highest point of the Arenal Reserve, from where you
can admire the natural beauty of the rain forest, volcano
and lake. Once you have reached the observation deck,
you can also enjoy a walk through a path.
The tour of Sky Trek is an adventure tour full of
adrenaline above the treetops, allowing you to observe
the forest in their views and the best views of the Arenal
Volcano and Lake Arenal. The tour includes 8 wires with
distances up to 2460 meters and a maximum height of
660 feet. Zip lines and tramway are complementary: you
can not do just the Zip lines.

Visit to the "Ecotermales"
The local is owned by a family that runs the system of
thermal waters, allowing a limited number of visitors per
day in order to provide a private and relaxing
atmosphere during your vacation.
There are four pools, one that is characterized by a
cascade, which reach a temperature of up to 105
degrees Fahrenheit. There is no better way to relax after
a long day visiting the hot springs and recovering your body in a very natural way.
When you take a break from the calming hot springs, you can dine in the authentic and
home-made restaurant Costa Rica style. Vegetarian meals are available upon request.

Route to San Jose.
Visit Sarchi, a craft village, cradle of the Costa Rican crafts.
Sarchi is definitely the craft village in Costa Rica and well known for its vibrant and
beautiful oxcarts that are handmade and sold throughout the country.
The oxcart is a national symbol of Costa Rica and plays a key role in the country's history as
these are used to transport coffee beans to nearby and distant markets. These carts are
very colorful and elegantly carved and usually painted in bright colors. The oldest factory is
in Sarchi and is Joaquin Chaverri Oxcart Factory, which was built in 1902 and is considered
birthplace handicrafts bullock carts in Costa Rica.
