20 - Feb. 24
Wed. | 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
Early childhood educators have long recognized the importance of creative activities and
are passionate about promoting children’s
creativity, but time in a school day must be
shared among a plethora of priorities. The
Arts Castle is pleased to offer families the
opportunity to extend their preschool-aged
child exposure to the fine and performing
arts. This program emphasizes creative
problem solving and guided experimentation
with the Arts Castle’s specialized resources
such as rotating arts exhibits and artoptimized facility and tools. Each class will
consist of a thematically linked fine arts
portion and a performing arts portion. The
performing arts section for winter quarter will
be theater. Students must be potty trained
and currently enrolled in preschool; students
enrolled in one of our partner preschools are
eligible for the Partner Preschool price.

Calling all students and enthusiasts of ballet!
Where do all those terms come from and
what do they mean? Why are they in French?
How do you perform them? We will answer
these questions and more! We will attempt
to master all the basic arm and leg positions
as well as arabesques and facings. We will
address the three main schools of ballet and
how they are different, as well as how the
art of ballet has changed over the years. This
class is for anyone who wants to gain a better understanding of the history and theory
behind the movements of ballet.
