What is Dispatcher for Alchemy?
Konica’s Dispatcher for Alchemy solution provides everyday users with the ability to automate redundant tasks, making
many often-used procedures quick and
easy. Dispatcher is designed to work with
IMR’s Alchemy document management
suite to automate several of the most
popular and frequently used document
manipulation tasks. Alchemy controls your
company’s unstructured information by
creating a relational database for your
scanned documents. Dispatcher automates
several after-scanning features that users
need most often.
With Dispatcher, you can automatically
perform Optical Character Recognition
(OCR) on your files, changing static
scanned pictures of documents into
dynamic documents with editable text.
You can also despeckle and deskew your
documents to make them cleaner and
more suitable for printing purposes. In
conjunction with Konica’s ScanTrip™,
Dispatcher also allows you to include your
scanned documents in the Alchemy database once you have scanned the file into
your directory. Further, Dispatcher allows
you to split TIFF files of multiple pages

This is how it works.
You can either create a new directory
or specify an existing directory for
Dispatcher to monitor; directories can be
resident on your personal computer or
they can exist on your network. Then, simply point Dispatcher to the directory that
you want it to watch. Finally, set
Dispatcher’s easy-to-use functions in the
setting screen, creating an automated
task list for Dispatcher to perform. After
that, your tasks are all accomplished automatically. Dispatcher will split TIFFS,
despeckle and deskew your images, and
convert your scanned documents
to editable text with optical character
recognition, and automatically include
your documents in the Alchemy database.
