Planning area ‘de Punt’ lies adjacent to the green belt
Osdorperban and the Langswater canal in Osdorp, Amsterdam.
These are precious green zones that clearly add value to this
location.
This development will not only fit in from an urban planning
perspective but also based on its architectural image. It is a
neighbourhood that is solidly anchored and does not dwell upon
the past but rather inspires and provides a fresh new image. A
place where people can create a sense of community.
Residents want to live in a ‘cosy’ environment. Peace and quiet,
spacious and a safe outdoor environment with little traffic. An
area where children can play safely outside. The appearance of
these neighbourhoods also helps create a sense of community.
People usually identify themselves with the normal everyday
things from their lives like a school, a park, the street and the
house in which they live.
Our architectural approach was based on a concept where
dwellings of different sizes come to life. Differences in height,
garden walls and small squares give a varied end result.
