Congratulations to all our Sharks for a well
deserved victory. Next week we welcome
the Kingsbrooke Sea Lions.

1st Annual Triathlon a Success!!
Congrats to all those Sharks that
participated in 1st Annual Sharkbite 300!
Way to go!!
Thank you to everyone that made the 1st
Annual Skarkbite 300 a success. A special
THANK YOU to Marc Matthew and Kim
Balog for heading up this event and DVCC
for allowing us to hold the triathlon. Over
75 participants, ranging in age from 7-58,
braved another hot day to swim, bike, and
run.
Swimmers started around 8am and
completed the first leg of the race in the
very warm water. After transitioning to
their bikes, the participants toured the
grounds of Dominion Valley as they
completed a 5km or 12km ride. The final
leg of the race was a run finishing at the
Sports Pavilion.
Our volunteers were out in full force,
Get Your Cameras Out

taking photos at the swim meets, please

with the age group of your swimmer. The
age group that donates the most will win a
pizza party – so get those cans to the curb!
Currently the 8 and under age group leads
the way. Grab those canned goods and help
your age group win this race!
Sharky’s Café
It’s time to help fill the cupboards of
Sharky’s Café. If every family donates an
item or two the supplies will be covered.
Volunteers
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU
to all those volunteers that helped out at
the Montclair meet. It was VERY hot and
your help was greatly appreciated. Many of
you also rose early the next day to help out
with the triathlon – thank you! Don’t forget
Remember, concessions is our biggest
fundraiser and helps offset expenses not
covered in registration. For the past two
years, Sharky’s Café has netted around
$9,000. Let’s keep that going by helping
with donations. And don’t forget to visit
the Café during the meet for hamburgers,
waffles, and other great goodies!
that these meets and events cannot happen
without volunteers and it takes EVERYONE
doing their part to be successful!
Our next meet is at home so we will need all
hands on deck. Help support your swimmer
by volunteering at the meet. Demonstrate
our Shark Pride by getting those volunteer
slots filled early!
Please contact Janette Nash,
[email protected], if you have
questions about volunteering.
Shark Discount Cards
These discount cards are good through
MAY 2013 so get yours now in order to
receive the biggest benefit. Cards are
being sold for $10 each and they offer
discounts to a great list of area vendors –
DVCC, Zinga, and Buffalo Wild Wings just
to name a few. Get your card at home
meets or in front of the Giant on July 20th!
We thank Maureen Dowling for organizing
this great opportunity for the Sharks!
How is Your Swimmer Doing?
Want to keep track of your swimmer during
the meet or want to know how other pools
Dining for Dollars
are doing? You can accomplish this by going
to http://www.pwswimmeets.com/.
Ever eat at Glory Days? All you need to do
is save your receipt and pass it along to Lisa
Hoagland in order for the Sharks to receive
10% back on your food purchase. How
simple is that? From now until the end of
July, Glory Days will give back 10% of all
receipts that we submit. So save your
receipts and place them in the envelope on
the Sharks bulletin board at the main pool.
If you have questions, please contact Lisa
Hoagland. How much easier can it be to
support the Sharks?
Contacts
If you have any questions, concerns or
great ideas for our board or committee
