To further its commitment to the protection of the
environment, customers’ assets, and the community,
Seabulk Towing is certified under the American Waterways Operators Responsible Carrier Program (RCP)
and is now fully ISM certified and compliant. Seabulk
Towing is committed to eliminating accidents, injuries,
and pollution. Compliance with the RCP requires all
areas of service activities be well-documented; including
operations, maintenance and crewing. Senior management categorizes improvement initiatives from the RCP
required reports and safety performance records.
As part of its safety training and evaluation program,
Seabulk Towing’s marine personnel participate in formal
offsite training, which includes detailed instruction on
state-of-the-art shiphandling simulators. Other training
includes First Aid, CPR, marine fire fighting and security
and environmental awareness.
Seabulk Towing continually evaluates the performance
of marine personnel for career advancement. In doing so,
licensed personnel are assigned to different tugs, which
broadens their experience and exposes them to new
work opportunities. Additional customized training occurs as new services and/or equipment is introduced.
