Ownership history
Chassis # 121285 was supplied new in
July 1962 finished in Champagne
Yellow (6205), complete with engine
number: 609109 and gearbox number:
57400, by Georg Rittersbacher, Pariser
Strasse, Kaiserslauten, West Germany.
The car was, soon after, exported to the
U.S.A. and acquired in 1968 by Marion
Woods of Malibu. The car then
remained
in
Marion
Woods’
ownership in the dry state of
California for 30 years, until being sold
to Mr P Richardson of County Durham,
who imported and registered the car to
the U.K. in 1989. Ownership then
passed, in 1990, to Mr B Samson of
Swaffham, Norfolk and then to John
Parfitt of Norwich in 1998.

During 1998, the car was the subject of
a total restoration from the chassis up,
including replacement floor panels and
sills, a bare-metal repaint in a different,
but arguably far more desirable periodcolour choice of Sky Blue (6403), an
1962 Porsche 356 B Coupe - Chassis # 121285
interior re-trim and full engine rebuild.
The resulting car won a concours prize
for its condition at Classics at the Castle
2007.
We supplied the car to its last owner in
2008 and in 2009 carried out a front
disc-brake conversion, upgrading the
front brake from drums to discs. The
car has been regularly serviced by
Maxted-Page & Prill and is a truly
delightful Porsche 356 in all respects.
