Learn play grow was founded by
Elena Baltacha-Severino and
Nino Severino.
Elena Baltacha-Severino was a professional
tennis player. She was a four-time winner of
the Aegon Award and long-term British No.
1. She has made the top 50 WTA rankings
for 2 consecutive years finishing the 2011
season as a top 50 player; this has not been
achieved in British women’s tennis since
Anne Hobbs in 1987.
Elena has had 3 victories over top 10
players, including two victories over Li Na
and one against Francesca Schiavone, who
at the time was the reigning French Open

Learn Play Grow History!
Nino Severino has developed his vast sporting experiences through
professional Football, Boxing, Golf, Cricket and Karate to name but a few.
Nino spent nearly two years working as part of Bryan Klugs coaching team
at the Ipswich Town Football Academy. Nino was included in many of the
education programmes for the ECCB at the highest level, coaching the coaches
at Loughborough Universities, Lords and The Oval.
Nino ran his own multi-sport academy called Sports Performance Academy
which included 2 official EIS World Class athletes and 12 England Internationals
who went on to win World, European, Commonwealth, British and English
medals and titles. Abbie Thorrington who competed for the prestigious Great
Britain Triathlon Team was part of this squad. After managing these athletes
Nino then specialised in tennis which lead him to a full time role as a WTA
touring coach with Elena Baltacha-Severino former British No.1.
Elena and Nino are passionate about getting children fit and healthy, and they
believe the earlier the better. They consider teaching children about living
a fit and healthy lifestyle, sportsmanship, team work, never giving up and
many more subjects will help the development of happy, confident children.
They believe a programme that engages children, allows them to use their
imagination and have lots of fun would do this! With the above in mind learn
play grow was born.
