of Spring Wingshooting
Don’t go a whole year without enjoying an upland hunt!
We offer upland wingshooting through April 15th so there are
plenty of opportunities to get out at a time that fits your
schedule and at a price that fits your budget. Fall is surely
considered our peak season, with wingshooting, big game
hunting, and steelhead fishing all being conducted in the same
couple of months. That means that availability is limited as
dates fill fast, often a year in advance. With a complicated work
schedule, securing dates that far in advance can be difficult.
That is one of the many benefits of Spring wingshooting.
Spring dates are more readily available and can much more
easily be booked on short notice. Can you only get away for the
weekend? If you have a hard time fitting into a regular Fall hunt
rotation, look to the Spring. Increased availability allows you to
customize your adventure dates to fit your busy schedule.
In addition to the convenience in scheduling, you can expect a
more laid-back pace at the lodge with fewer guests in house.
This makes Spring ideal if you are planning a corporate trip and are looking to enjoy quality time to work on
strengthening relationships between team members, customers, and colleagues. The same benefit applies to those
of you looking to spend a memorable Spring break bonding with your children on the hunt, or perhaps treating
your father to a hunt of a lifetime.
Spring solo hunters can enjoy the same great wingshooting without the 1:1 guide fees applicable during peak
Fall season. Additionally, days afield in the Spring offer mild and comfortable hunting temperatures with the same
abundance of upland game birds.
We also offer the same Cast and Blast adventure options for the Spring with the opportunity to combine worldclass wingshooting and steelhead fishing from the lodge, in a matter of days.
If you are looking for a place to hold a corporate retreat or to entertain a large group of customers, ask us

Spring Bear Hunting Season is Coming Up!
Many hunters think of Fall as “hunting season.” However, one of our most successful hunts offered at the
Flying B Ranch is our Spring bear hunting, with an average of 80% annual success. We offer bear hunts both
from the backcountry and from the comforts of the lodge during April, May, and June. Black bear hunting with
us comes with many options and advantages over bear hunting in other areas of the country. Our area in Idaho

boasts high percentages of color phase bears, those
being brown, cinnamon, and blonde in addition to
classic black. Further, due to high bear numbers in our
permitted hunting areas, 2 tags are available over the
counter to non-residents at a reduced price of $31.75
each. We charge no trophy fee on a 2nd bear for 1:1
guided lodge hunts and all backcountry hunts. In
addition, hunters have the opportunity to try for a wolf
as well with no trophy fee and also at a reduced tag
price of $31.75.
Ready for the adventure of a true wilderness hunt?
Venture into the Selway Wilderness for our April spot
and stalk bear camp. Guests who have done this hunt
agree that it is an experience of a lifetime and one that
many go back to do a 2nd or even 3rd time. With the
same high success, 2 bear limits, no trophy fees, and
reduced black bear and wolf tags, this is an excellent
value for 5 days/7 nights at $4,200 for 2:1 and $5,200
for 1:1.
Prefer the comfort and convenience of hunting from
the lodge? During a standard 5 day black bear hunt you
can experience a new hunt location every day,
venturing into the mountains by ATV, horseback, or on
foot. Conducted in the months of May and June, you
can turn a black bear hunt into a “Spring Grand Slam”
with opportunities to combine black bear hunting, turkey hunting, and salmon fishing during the same week.
Those late May and June dates are ideal if you have a hunter who is still in school and Fall hunting is not an
option with their schedule. Full 5 day/6 night bear hunt packages at the lodge are available as 2:1 guiding for
$4,500 and 1:1 guiding for $5,500.
Have a child or grandchild just getting introduced to hunting? Black bear hunting is one of the best
introductions into big game hunting for youth and novice hunters and can build their confidence. The benefit of
hunting a bait is that it allows a new hunter to be setup before the animal presents itself, with a known range, safe
shooting lane and backstop, and time to steady and prepare for that moment of opportunity. The Flying B Ranch
encourages youth and first time hunters; with staff certified as Idaho Hunter Safety Instructors we can even
conduct field exams and issue hunter safety certificates here on site before the hunt. We also offer a big incentive,
with all youth hunters under 18 being 1/2 price with a full paying adult. Idaho just recently dropped the
minimum for all hunting to age 10, so you can introduce them early on to what we hope will be a lifetime
involvement in the tradition of hunting.
We are currently taking reservations for Spring black bear hunting with openings in April, May, and June.

Upcoming Hunting & Fishing
Opportunities with the Flying B Ranch
We are now taking reservations for several upcoming seasons with availability:
☛ Wingshooting season continues now through April 15th.
☛ Mountain Lion season December 1st through March 31st, with already very limited availability, so don’t
wait to schedule if you are interested in hunting a mountain lion this season.
☛ Turkey season April 15th through May 25th.
☛ Steelhead season continues now through March, depending on river conditions.
☛ Salmon season approximately May through June, subject to IDFG set seasons and guidelines.
☛ Black Bear season opens April 1st in the backcountry and April 15th from the lodge, continuing through June 30th.

Dogs Available for Adoption!
Over the years we have paired retiring FBR bird hunting dogs with loving guest homes. Those of you who
have bird hunted with us know that our dogs are considered the heart of our wingshooting program and are
treated as part of the family here. We are sad to see them retire, but glad to provide them with a loving forever
home to enjoy…. we all know they have earned it!
Rubel & Croner are 9 year old English Pointer brothers that are ready for adoption. Both are in generally good
health, just getting older. They are both experienced bird dogs and would be great hunting partners for the
occasional day hunt with a new owner, just no constant, intensive hunting anymore. Each is very sweet natured
and smart. If you are interested in adopting either of these dogs, please call the office at 800-472-1945.
