Deer Park Villa Inc was incorporated under the Non‐Profit Corporations Act in 1989 and opened as a residential service ‐ a six person group home in August 1990. DPV is run by a volunteer board of nine to twelve directors. According to our mission statement, Deer Park Villa is committed to enhancing the quality of life and reaching the potential for people with disabilities. Each person has the right to be treated with dignity and respect and we support freedom of choice for all our clients as far as we are able to understand their communications to us. In 1995 we expanded our residential service by opening a three person group home and also developed our own Day Program in response to fatigue being displayed by some of our frailer clients. Since that time we have also provided respite, Supported Employment, Supported Living, job coaching and opened a third group home as different needs arose in our community and area. Many of Ituna businesses are wheel chair accessible, due to commitment to helping the handicapped. Main Street sidewalks have wheel chair accessibility. Page 15 of 33
