A heart-warming tale about the turning point in the life of an
elite businessman in his fifties and a local train that has been
running since 1911. Hajime (Kiichi Nakai), is in line to be
the next head of a prominent electronics company. He toils
day and night over his work and has no time for his family.
But one day, his mother falls ill, and his best friend dies in
an accident. Grief stricken, Hajime returns home, where
memories of his childhood
dream come back to him. He

In 2199, five years after the start of the Gamilians’ attack on
Earth, the planet has been ravaged by nuclear bombs and the
last remaining humans have fled underground. Former pilot
Susumu Koidai discovers a capsule from the planet Iskandar
telling of a device that can remove radiation from the
Earth’s surface. In preparation to defend earth, The United
Nations of Space Administration rebuilds the battleship Yamato with a new type of propulsion system, enabling it to
make the long trip to Iskandar and back. With limited time,
Kodai must pilot the advanced Space Battleship Yamato and
save the world from extinction.
