The Ratcliff name has been at
the forefront of tail lift innovation
since Ted Ratcliff invented and
patented the UK's first tail lift in
1948. Ted went on to establish
Ratcliff Tail Lifts, along with his
children John and Jean, in 1964
and led the way in the tail lift
industry developing new lifting
solutions.
As market leaders in the design
and manufacture of commercial
and passenger lifts for over 50
years, we have a history and commitment to innovation and customer service. Among Ratcliff Tail
Lifts' innovations were an all-alu

minium lift (RQ518/RQ1008) and
the revolutionary rear frame lift
(RQR518). The first Ratcliff passenger lift hit the market in 1966
making a huge impact within the
mobility sector. “Ratcliff” has
since become the generic name
for quality tail lift solutions in the

Top of the range weighing as from only 115kg,
the ALU-LITE™ RQ518 has an anodised aluminium frame and platform, the lightest of its
range on the market.
With an unique design, the ALU-LITE™ RQR518
replaces the vehicle rear frame and doors/
shutters, rear closure and tail lift in a single preassembled unit.
The all lightweight aluminium construction maximises payload.
For a higher lifting capacity, the ALU-LITE™
RQ1008 is made of a lightweight anodised aluminium frame and platform that prevents corrosion, increases payload,reduces maintenance
and improves fuel economy.

planking, for additional strength. Tongue and
groove assembly enables individual damaged

and flexible operation, the
Folding Gates can be stowed
away when not needed.
Drop-in Safety Gates and All
Round Safety Gates are available to ensure the complete
safety to both Operators and
goods.
These popular gates are hinged
to the platform edge and stow
flat against the platform. The
lift cannot be used without the
gates being erected, ensuring
operator safety. Drop-In and
All Round Safety Gates are
also available as an optional
features.
Roll stops provide extra load
security and are especially useful for roll pallets.
With fixed ramps they are suitable for 1050mm and
1125mm deep platforms only.
