The Parliament Choir has
over 120 members drawn
from those working in the
Palace of Westminster: Peers,
MPs and those who organise
and run Parliament. Since its
foundation in 2000 the Choir
has performed with worldclass soloists, Sir Thomas
Allen, Dame Emma Kirkby
and Dame Felicity Lott and
many stars of the future.

This concert combines the vibrant musical
influence of a newly restored court with two of
the great composers of the early Baroque in works
by Purcell, Monteverdi and Vivaldi. A sparkling
and uplifting repertoire where the fresh style
of 17th-century Italy brings light and life to the
musical language of Restoration England. The
Parliament Choir has commissioned a new piece
from its composer-in-residence, Nicholas O’Neill,
in the style of a Restoration verse anthem
reimagined for the 21st century.
