GEORGE PINDAR SCHOOL OPEN EVENING
George Pindar School held a very busy and successful
Open Evening last week. Nearly 400 prospective parents
and students attended to find out what the school had to
offer. They were able to meet a wide range of students
from every year group. They also listened to speeches
given by Year 7 students and our Head and Deputy Head
girls and boys and were entertained by our School Choir
and Orchestra performing 'Happy' by Pharrell Williams
and ‘Seasons of Love’ from the musical, Rent.
Comments from parents were very positive, not only
about the students but about the enthusiasm of the staff
whom they had met as they had toured the School. We
hope to see many of them again in September.
MAKING MONEY FOR MACMILLAN
On 26 September, Duke of Edinburgh students sold cakes
to raise money for
Macmillan. In the
space of 15 minutes,
during morning break,
they raised £90 to
donate to the charity.
This is a fabulous
result and everyone
can take pride in
being a part of it. Huge
thanks to everyone for
your generosity, be it

ATTENDANCE MATTERS
We have had a lot of illness this half term and, as a result,
our attendance is below the figure for this time last year.
We need a big effort to have everyone in every day to set
us back on track for our target of 95.5%.
