Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast
March
Each year The Kiwanis Club of Redlands dishes up delicious Pancakes with sausage and all the trimmings, including local fresh squeezed Orange Juice provided by Redlands Foothill Groves Packing House. A large tent with tables is set up adjacent to the Finish Line at the Municipal Parking Lot, located at 6th & Citrus Streets in downtown Redlands. Redlands Kiwanis started the Pancake Breakfast tradition in 1944. Originally, part of the Kiwanis International National Kids Day, the Pancake Breakfast tradition was later held in conjunction with the Boy Scout's “ScoutORama”. Shortly after the inception of the Bicycle Classic, Kiwanis started serving up pancakes to the spectators and hungry bikers wanting to load up on carbs.
Redlands Bicycle Classic is the largest road cycling event in the United States. The Classic is a threeday event for the world's top professional and amateur male and female cyclists, featuring total prizes in excess of $50,000. Special weekend events including the Pancake Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday are planned for the spectators and participants.
A Run Through Redlands
April
This year the Run Through Redlands celebrates 27 years in the community. It is the largest running event in the Inland Empire. Hosted by Redlands Kiwanis and Presented by Redlands Community Hospital, Loma Linda University Medical CenterPossAbilities and the Redlands Daily Facts, the run features competitive 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon events. All three events are USATF Certified running events, which is important for registered running enthusiasts to post their race times. Start of the Run
5k Event 2300+ runners.
For the moms and dads we host a Kinder dash event located in front of the Lincoln Shrine behind Smiley Public Library. Parents and family members alike line up along side the Kinder dash lanes cheering their loved ones along as they trot down the 50yard course.
All the events total over 3500+ participants plus thousands of spectators and family members lined up from the Redlands Mall, Redlands Bowl and along the racecourse. A Run Through Redlands Continued
Spectators cheer as the runners cross the finish line and their times are recorded. All participants are presented a finishers ribbon before the award medals are presented on stage. Fresh water, orange juice and fruit slices are provided to all participants as they walk around the Redlands Bowl vendor booth area talking with family and friends.

All manpower is donated from Kiwanis members, their families and community friends. We boast 100% of the event proceeds are distributed to local youth events and community service projects.
Over 12 years ago we created the “Redlands Events” web site {www.Redlandsevents.com} hosting a FREE community calendar for all local events. The idea was to help publicize events of interest to Redlander's thought the year. All Run through Redlands sponsors are listed here with links back to the sponsor's own web site. In 2009, redlandsevents had more than 3million web hits from 55,000+ 'unique' visitors, based on IP. More than 1million of the total hits were generated by 8,600+ unique visitors in the 20 day period prior to the Run, including Race Day.
Redlands Christmas Parade
December
Kiwanis has hosted the Redlands Christmas Parade for close to 70 years. Each year a theme is selected and participants from Redlands and surrounding cities come to celebrate in our community. This nighttime event includes floats, marching bands, antique car clubs, horses, church and walking groups, business with flatbed trucks, singing groups and more. Spectators dressed in warm jackets with chairs, blankets and hot coco assemble on the streets below Redlands Mall. When the signal is given the parade is led off by one of our own Redlands Fire Department antique fire trucks. As the spectators line the streets the parade heads up Citrus Avenue, across 7th and down State Street past the Judges reviewing stand. This televised event brings the Christmas Spirit and Joy to young and old alike. From their homes or their curbside chairs, the Christmas Spirit is enjoyed by all.
