TWINEAGLES BOOK CLUB
A significantly smaller group (Here
comes summer!) gathered in the
ladies locker room lounge on
Thursday, May 5th, to discuss "The
Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold
Fry." It is an unusual little book
that starts off so quietly that several of us hesitated on what to make
of it. But the more we read of it,
the more we got caught up in Harold's walk--just like the people
that become his followers along
the way. (We couldn't help but
be reminded of Forrest
Gump.) Harold was an ordinary
man, an EVERYMAN of sorts, who
was at a unique point in his
life. Author Rachel
Joyce introduces him at that point,
and her readers follow him as he,
almost unthinkingly, notices the
things around him, opens himself
to change, and ultimately accepts
who he is.
