Synergies with Pioneer’s AV Receiver
By connecting a compatible Pioneer AV receiver,
you can enjoy clearer pictures for network videos,
as well as improved sound for compressed audio.
Stream Smoother Link utilizes the advanced noise
reduction technology on the AV receiver and improves the quality
of low bit-rate network videos. With Sound Retriever Link, the
AV receiver restores the lost music cadence on MP3/WMA/AAC
audio, and upgrades the sound to CD quality. Both functions
are automatically turned on or off according to the quality of the
playback source.

In addition to Blu-ray Discs, DVDs can be played on the Blu-ray

With BD-LIVE compatible discs, you can download

With the precision quartz controller on a compatible AV
receiver, Pioneer’s Precision Quartz Lock System (PQLS)
eliminates distortion caused by timing errors. By HDMI
connection with the AV receiver, the BDP-450 can
transmit CD audio and DVD/Blu-ray Disc multi-channel
sound, as well as linear PCM and bit-stream signals with
minimum quality loss.

Some online content may have poor video quality when viewed
on TV. Stream Smoother solves this problem by reducing block
noise and mosquito noise on low-bit rate video content such as
YouTube, while also tuning the gradation, letting you enjoy finer
and clearer images.

The BDP-450 is equipped with dual HDMI output terminals,
allowing various connections depending on your usage. With
Dual Mode, you can feed two displays simultaneously. With
Separate Mode, the audio and video signals are separately
transferred via the main and sub HDMI terminals. The isolation
of the audio signals creates pure sound free of interference.
Use Pure Audio Mode for listening to music. Output signals
