The Falcon Connection
January 18th, 2016
Dear Parents,
Happy New Year! We are three weeks into the spring semester and our Fabra Falcons are
soaring. From Kindergarten to 5th Grade, students continue demonstrating growth mindset in
the work they do throughout our classrooms. We look forward to seeing each student reach
their learning goals as well as to continue to challenge them each and every day.

This month we would like to recognize our school board for all they do to do in maintaining
excellence and continuing to advocate for each child and the future of Boerne ISD. Their
outstanding dedication to our community and students is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
I would like to invite our parents and community to our New Fabra Open Forum and Update
on Tuesday, January 26th at 6:00 PM. We will share with you building floorplans, artist
renderings, and answer any questions you may have about our new learning space. We will
also ask for your input regarding our school’s mission statement and core values that our
school will adopt as we move to our new space.
This last semester at Fabra Elementary will surely be a very special one. Established in 1948,
our school has served thousands of students, many of which are parents and grandparents in
our district. The warmth, lessons, and values that have been established throughout the years
will follow us and be the driving force for continued excellence. Stay tuned for upcoming
Family Nights and other open events that will give our community an opportunity to visit our
campus before we move.
It is an absolute pleasure serving you,
Dr. Hinojosa, Principal

STUDENTS OF THE MONTH
January 2016
Kindergarten – Lily Kate Evans
Lily Kate is a caring and compassionate child. She goes out of her way to help friends. She
never complains and is eager to follow directions quickly whenever asked. She participates
in our daily activities and often volunteers her services when something needs to be done. It
is a pleasure having you at Fabra Lily Kate!
First Grade – Moorea Davis
Moorea Davis is 1st grade’s student of the month. Moorea is a hard worker, is not afraid to
make mistakes, and most importantly learns from those mistakes. She is always the first to
help others, is a great example of a self-manager, and we can always count on her to do the
right thing. We are extremely proud of all her hard work and progress! Great job Moorea!
Second Grade – Mallory Perales
Mallory is an excellent student who comes to class prepared and ready to learn every
day. She consistently works hard on her studies and seeks to better herself in all
areas. She is quick to help her teachers and fellow classmates and always has a bright
smile on her sweet face! Way to go Mallory!
Third Grade - Rylee Stavinoha-Keenum
Rylee an amazing young lady who has a quiet and respectful demeanor. She is
consistently responsible and has taken on the job of keeping all the 3rd grade teachers
updated with the daily CAMP schedule. She is also our Green Girl for the recycling
and never forgets to take care of this job. Rylee is a role model for what a HORTON
should be, and is loved and respected by all her peers. We appreciate all you do for
Fabra Rylee!
Fourth Grade - Justin Bain
Justin is a wonderful example for our fourth grade students. His smile and
enthusiasm for learning each day are contagious and help keep all of us motivated.
Justin sees school as a time to learn, ask questions, share ideas and have fun. He is a
willing helper to classmates and teachers alike. We are proud to elect Justin as our
4th grade student of the month. Keep up the great work Justin!
Fifth Grade - Clare Stauber
Clare is an exceptional student who positively contributes to the class as well as the
campus. She always works hard on her assignments, projects, and tests, so it is no
surprise she is on the A Honor Roll! She achieved this while working on Safety
Patrol, and being willing to help any student in need. Her bright, cheerful, and
positive attitude is truly inspirational!

Policy and Procedures Reminders
Below are a few reminders from our Parent Handbook:
Arrival/Dismissal
If you need to make a change in how your child will get home, please send a written note to your child’s teacher or
contact the front office before 1:00 PM. In the event of an emergency, call the school office so that the teacher and
student can be notified before the end of the day. Unless notified, the teacher will follow the normal routine for your child.
Tardy Policy
Students will be counted tardy at 7:40 AM. Please have your child to school no later than 7:35 AM. For the safety of our
students, all doors will be locked at that time. Announcements will begin promptly at 7:40 AM. Parents are required to
check their child in after their 3rd tardy. Students will not be admitted to class without a tardy slip from the office.

shorts, dress, or skirt.
 Muscle shirts and jerseys without an undershirt with sleeves are not allowed.

teacher and/or administration. To maximize instruction time, this includes any time after the bell rings and announcements
begin. All parents who walk their child to class before the bell must sign in. Please feel free to have lunch with your child
in the cafeteria anytime. If you are coming to visit, please sign in at the office. Anyone who visits the campus must wear a
