PARENT TEACHER INTEVIEWS
It was great to see so many parents in the school last Thursday at the parent teacher interviews. The feedback from staff and parents was that they found the interviews later in the
term beneficial as we could discuss student learning and their learning goals for next term.
FAST
I would like to thank Phylis and Paddy Bourke who have helped coach the kids in table tennis
this term. The kids have improved a lot over the last 3 weeks. Your time and support is greatly
appreciated.
A big thanks to Emma Morvell, Mrs Hepburn and Mary-Ann who supplied the snack for FAST
last week.
EASTER BONNET PARADE
On Thursday the 24th of March we will be having an Easter Bonnet Parade at 1:30pm.
Students have constructed their bonnets during Art class over the last two weeks. So parents
all you need to do is come along and enjoy the parade.
HOT CROSS BUN DRIVE
Thanks to Kelly Machin who has organised the Hot Cross Bun drive for the school. The school
will make just over $300 which is a great effort. Thanks to Cath and Karli Koros who will
organise the orders on Thursday. Buns can be collect from the school after 1:00pm.

Prep/One
We have enjoyed another busy week. On Wednesday, Waubra
Pre- School students joined us for P.M.P and a play in the classroom and the playground. On Tuesday, we enjoyed our visit to the
Bendigo Discovery Centre. Summer summed up our visit in her recount of this excursion.
At the Discovery Centre there was a huge slide. I was going
to go on it but it looked too scary. We did an experiment. We put
powder in a balloon and vinegar and it made the balloon go up.
We watched the water flow down the wet rope and into a bucket. The water didn’t go down
the floor.
Shaelee was checking which objects
floated and which objects sank.
Why is Nellie’s head on the fruit
platter?
Tommy and Riley helped with the rope and
water experiment.
The hall of
mirrors was
very strange.

Grade 2/3 NEWS
As a busy term comes to an end, I have been reflecting on how far we
have come already this year. The introduction of SEESAW and the
VCOP and Big Write will continue into next term, as well as NAPLAN
for the Grade three cohort… lots to prepare for and sink our brains into!
Thank you to all families for coming for Student/Parent/Teacher interviews, you should all be proud of your wonderful children, as we are!
Have a great Easter break, and if you are travelling, have a safe trip.
Hope Easter Bunny finds you!
See you rested and ready to go next term!
Grade 4/5/6 Weekly News
Term 1, Edition 8
It has been a hectic week this week in our class!
We had heaps of fun at the Bendigo Discovery Centre.
The visit to the planetarium helped us understand more
about our place in space.
A huge thank you to all of the parents who have come
in this week to talk about their child’s learning. Your
input and value in their education has such a huge impact on learning and attitudes to school!
In Reading this week, we have
been learning about why author’s
write—the author’s purpose. One
way students can remember this
is by thinking about PIE—
Persuade, Inform or Entertain.
In Writing we have been eagerly working on narratives
for the Write 4 Fun competition. Expect to see our work
published online soon!
In Maths we have been continuing our focus on measurement including looking at calculating volume and
mass using scaled instruments.
