A Word from
Preacher Bennie
Summer heat has been tough this year! Hope everyone is staying cool. The heat has made me think about several things. I
am reminded of the suffering people will go through in hell.
Luke 16 describes the rich man being in torments in the flames
of hell. This heat does not compare to the heat of hell so I
know I do not want anyone to go there! I also thought of the
judgment of God. Throughout the scriptures, God has judged
people through weather conditions. America has turned her
back on the Lord and I think He is trying to get our attention!
Let’s all pray for our nation! We need to turn back to the Lord
and ask Him to bless us again.
August is a busy month! The North Greenville Crusade is August 12-15 at Turner Chapel on the North Greenville University
Campus. Travis Agnew will be preaching this year. He is an
exciting young preacher. Our Back to School Bash at Gateway
Park in Travelers Rest is Sunday afternoon, August 19. It will be
from 5:00-7:30. The games, food etc. will be from 5-7 and we
will share the gospel and draw for prizes beginning at 7:00.
Please remember that the door prizes are for people who do
not attend our churches. This year, all those who attend the
sponsoring churches WILL NOT receive a ticket for the prizes.
You will receive a ticket for free food. MFBC is in charge of the
Evangelism Tent again this year. We need help to witness to
folks as well as praying with people. You will be amazed at
how God will use you to help minister to people.
We are moving our Ministry Fair to January. August is so busy
and folks are still taking vacations, so it is hard to get everyone
there. We are going to try January to see if it will work better
then. Because of this, we are asking everyone to continue to
serve in your current positions until then. The deacon elections will be moved to then as well. Be praying and thinking
about what the Lord wants you to do to serve Him next year at
MFBC. We need everyone to be involved in doing something
here at MFBC! You are an important link to fulfilling the calling
the Lord has on our church.
Thanks for all you do! MFBC is a great place to serve the Lord. I
love you all and pray God’s blessings on your lives!

Worshiping God should make
us grateful.
Enter His gates with thanksgiving; go
into His courts with praise. Give
thanks to Him and praise His name.
-Ps. 100:4
Worshiping God should rightly open
our eyes to God’s amazing grace.
When we gaze at the cross of Christ
and truly recognize that we should be
hanging there instead, what response
can there be but overflowing gratefulness?

FAST Meeting in Conference room,
Wednesday, August 22nd after service
We are very excited to now have 3 of our members, Rhonda Batson, Lonita Stegall
and Tonya Powers who are becoming trained as instructors in first aid, CPR and
AED. They have worked hard to achieve this and will soon be able to offer more
training to our church and local churches. If you have not been trained in these
areas please watch for more information. The FAST members continue to meet and
work hard to make our campus a safe worship environment. You can assist by
parking in designated spaces and by participating in our drills and watching for updates on safety issues. Thank you for your help and support! Jimmy Batson
Health kits open doors! Thank you for your support of the health kits each year.
These bags containing hygiene items such as toothpaste, toothbrush, soap and
towels can be the opening we need to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Recently on a Sunday evening we had the opportunity to give out over 30 bags in just
a hour and to share with each migrant worker. We will continue to follow up with
these families while they are in our area. Pray for our ministry during these busy
summer months. In His Service, Jimmy Batson

New Christian Class for Children
Gives Children a Good Beginning
Children who have accepted Christ can begin to grow as Christians by attending
the new Christian classes for children. I’m a Christian Now! classes will meet
each Sunday, starting Sept. 9 at 9:00 AM in Christ Kidz department .
This four-week study will help children understand what it means to be a
Christian, the importance of baptism and the Lord’s Supper, their role as
church members, and getting started in daily Bible study and prayer.
Contact Kevin Hart ([email protected] or cell ph. 420-8894) today and enroll
your child in this important class. We will have a parent meeting on Sunday,
August 26 @ 5:00 in room 112 to discuss steps that you can take to help your
child in their walk with Christ.
