About Montverde Academy
Director of Athletics
Established in 1912, Montverde Academy is a college preparatory school for
grades Pre-K3 -12 and post graduate studies. Located just 25 minutes from
most points in Orlando on a beautiful 125 acre campus, we are convenient to
nearby airports, attractions and shopping.

Nearly 80% of our faculty hold advanced degrees and have more than 10 years

External Programs
Montverde Academy offers premier programs for student in basketball, soccer, golf, tennis and music.
The Soccer Institute at Montverde Academy (SIMA) Join Head Coach and program director Mike
Potempa, along with one of the top coaching and training staffs in the country for a premier soccer experience
for student athletes in grades 7-12 that will take their game to the next level! In the 2014-2015 season alone, the
program had two students sign professional contracts and 11 students received college scholarships.
The Montverde Academy Center for Basketball Development with Coach Kevin Boyle
(MACBD) Led by 4x National Coach of the Year, Kevin Boyle. MACBD is an advanced basketball
development program for grades 7-12 and post graduate studies. Three alumni signed with the NBA in
2015 and six students received basketball scholarships.
The Montverde Tennis Academy by Jaime Oncins MTA is a comprehensive academic and athletic
training program designed for competitive tennis players grades 7-12 who aspire to continue their success
at a collegiate and/or professional level.
Montverde Academy Music Conservatory (MAMC) takes music to the next level! Aspiring artists
in grades 7-12 will find a path that will lead them through an in-depth and challenging music program that
brings out their passion and commitment to their music career.
Golf Academies Our partnerships include The Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy and Bishop’s Gate Golf
Academy. These high caliber programs enable students to attend Montverde Academy during the first half
of the day where their focus is solely on academics. The remainder of the day is spent with coaches and
trainers provided by our partners at their respective locations, where students also reside.

• Submit a copy of the applicant’s current year’s transcripts plus two year’s prior.
• Submit recommendation forms from the applicant’s current English teacher, math teacher and
principal or guidance counselor.
• Submit a copy of the applicant’s birth certificate or passport.
Grades 9 and 10 Submit Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT), PSAT, ACT and SAT
are acceptable.
Grades 11 and 12 Submit PSAT, ACT and/or SAT preferred. SSAT is acceptable.
• International Students must submit two copies of their transcripts; one in the applicant’s native
language and one translated into English.
• International students must submit a TOEFL. IELTS, SLATE, or SLEP is acceptable.
Middle School
• Submit a copy of the applicant’s current year’s transcripts plus two years prior.
• Submit recommendation forms from the applicant’s current English teacher, math teacher and
principal or guidance counselor.
• Submit a copy of the applicant’s birth certificate or passport.
• Submit Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT).

Lower School
