SDA Bocconi MBA was an incredible enabler
of a step forward in my career, moving from a
start-up specialized engineering firm to a
successful career in a leading consultancy firm.
Life in Milano is a perfect mix of academic
activities and networking events.
My schoolmates today are a strong international
network and it is great to know that, when
I need specialized advice, I always find
a friend ready to support in almost every field
and industry.
When I decided to do an MBA, I was certain
it would change my career, aspirations
and professional mindset. The only nuance
I did not get at that time, but I do visibly
appreciate six years later, is the extent it positively
and profoundly changed my whole approach
to new ventures and my life.

Ten years after completing my MBA,
I can see in a very clear way the added-value
of my MBA experience at SDA

a very enriching path. In other words, a true
international experience in the most
beautiful country in the world!

1 TOP WORLDWIDE ROI
The SDA Bocconi MBA ranks among the top programs in the world as the best value for
money, the investment in MBA education which pays itself back most quickly. According to
the latest Forbes ranking of return on investment (ROI, the average time graduates need to
earn back tuition fees), the SDA Bocconi MBA is 4th among non-US programs in the world,
while the Good-Value MBA’s ranking 2014 by The Economist places the School 4th globally.
Furthermore, the SDA Bocconi MBA 1-year format will maximize your investment by
decreasing your time away from work while requiring you to manage a busy schedule in an
intense program structure.
My MBA was a life-changing
experience. Thanks to it I had the
opportunity to better express my
potential and to grow fast, reaching all
the goals I set for my professional life.
After 5 years working in a multinational
company, I'm now considering to
become an entrepreneur and I feel
that's possible also thanks to my MBA.

MANAGEMENT EXCELLENCE
SDA Bocconi School of Management is part of Università Bocconi: the only International
University specialized in teaching business and economics, Università Bocconi is one of Europe’s
oldest and most prestigious business education institutions.
I can only say thanks to the huge
amount of people who taught me
so much, not only academically,
but also personally.

PRACTICAL AND APPLIED KNOWLEDGE
The curriculum is designed to give you the theoretical knowledge for managerial excellence, while
a practical perspective within the program enables you to test knowledge gained and skills
learned in the classroom.
We prepare future leaders to be ambidextrous, capable of blending an in-depth understanding
of today's situation with a coherent vision for tomorrow.
The SDA Bocconi MBA program always
emphasized customer engagement. This
is the ideal program for any manager
aiming at building a strong background
and leveraging it into a challenging
omnichannel future.

RELATIONAL COCOON
With just about 100 MBA students, the program demands a heavy investment in
relationships and a commitment to cooperation and team-oriented work. This environment
results in bonds built with classmates, faculty and alumni that will last a lifetime.
With just over 100 students you get the personal
attention that you need to succeed. From your
professors to the Career Service staff, someone is always
there to listen to your concerns and help you advance
your skills and career.
What we experience in the class
feels very private, very intimate.
It feels like a tailor-made education.

5 INTERNATIONAL CLASS
The spectrum of nationality, age, gender, professional experience and academic background
of our MBA class brings energy and fruitful exchange that few MBA programs can offer. 75%
of SDA Bocconi students are not from Italy, and come from about 35 different countries, a real
advantage for modern MBAs, who will be working in multinational settings and must learn to
work effectively with a variety of cultures.
SDA Bocconi’s diverse student population, coupled with its equally varied choice of courses,
made it my top choice for pursuing an MBA education. The wealth of experiences of students
that SDA Bocconi is known for attracting is having a major impact on my personal development.
Similarly, I am actively sharing my hard-earned lessons with them. I believe that by exchanging
these types of experiences with classmates from various backgrounds, we are collectively
contributing to SDA Bocconi’s dynamic learning environment.

STRATEGIC LOCATION
foto Marco Brescia © Teatro alla Scala
An International MBA in Milano means the best mix of style, innovation, leisure, people and
places. Milano will be your campus - a city at the center of the European industrialized belt and
of Italian business and finance. The hub of fashion, creativity and design, with a great potential
for contacts and careers. Milano's creative atmosphere, combined with the pragmatic academic
legacy of SDA Bocconi, provide a unique blend in molding tomorrow's leaders.
When I chose to study at SDA Bocconi,
I knew that living in Italy would give
me an international experience and
a chance to meet people from
all over the world.
Practically, Milano is in the middle of Europe and
is one of few cities that have three airports
with very convenient access to the city.
This makes the commuting between Milano, the rest
of Europe and many countries overseas easy and fast
and covers a variety of passenger needs.

7 CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT

Growing professionally also requires cultural growth. You will widen your interests and catch
the opportunity to immerse into Italy’s unparalleled wealth of cultural heritage. You will open
your horizons and absorb the educational power of the arts. Opera and music, iconic food,
exquisite wines, countless works of art are some famous elements of Italian culture, which you
can experience to add value to your growth.
The SDA Bocconi MBA was my entrance
into fascinating Italian culture, through
which I found my dreams, my aspirations
and my real self.

I chose the SDA Bocconi Full-Time MBA because

OUR MBA PROGRAM CORNERSTONES
CORE COURSES AND SEMINARS
Our MBA program is organized around three cornerstones, which represent the competence
requirements of a global manager.
PLANNING & INNOVATING
CONTROLLING & INVESTING
LEADING PEOPLE & PROCESSES
This sequence is focused on a detailed
understanding of the macroeconomic
and microeconomic environment in
order to plan the core strategic and
marketing actions that drive value
creation for stakeholders.
Specific attention is given to the ability
to change and evolve towards venues
of value creation that are sustainable
and hard to imitate.
Measuring the value produced by
an organization is the starting point to
understand the opportunities it faces
and the investments it can sustain.
Starting from a thorough understanding
of financial markets and financial tools
this second sequence provides a 360
degree coverage of management
accounting, corporate finance and
financial institutions.
Core competences of an organization lie
in smart people and in effective
and efficient organizational processes.
This sequence aims to understand
how to design the organization,
fuel it with the energy of smart and
committed people and orchestrate
a system of incentives that aim
at both exploiting the existing
com petences and exploring
new scenarios.

The Luxury Arts Club - LAC was created to connect students across all backgrounds and concentrations
with unique fashion, luxury, retail, arts, and cultural events and activities in Milan and throughout Europe.
This year, we visited luxury boutiques like Bottega Veneta, art auction house Il Ponte, and one of Milan's
hidden historical masterpieces of architecture: Villa Necchi-Campiglio. We partnered with the DiVino Club
on a wine-tasting trip to Bordeaux, and brought five industry speakers on-campus to discuss luxury
marketing, talent acquisition, PR, consumer insights, and private equity. We also launched our first-ever
business skills competition with emerging Italian jewelry designer Bea Bongiasca. Five teams participated
to strategize the next steps of expansion for the fledgling line, which is already carried in well-known stores
like 10 Corso Como in Milan and Colette in Paris.
We hope to have set the groundwork for an even better calendar of events next year, the club's 5th birthday!

IT IS TIME TO PERSONALIZE YOUR DEVELOPMENT
CONCENTRATIONS
In the final two months of the program you have the opportunity to focus your path on those specific
managerial subjects congruent with your preferences and abilities. Each year, around twenty electives
are offered during the Concentrations, allowing students to gain in-depth skills in topics of major
relevance in today’s business world. The Electives are grouped into 4 Concentrations running in parallel
in groups of 2.
99 percent of what you learn in your
Concentration in Finance is part of any

tools... As for the remaining 1 percent...

YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO EXPERIENCE
ANOTHER PRESTIGIOUS BUSINESS SCHOOL
International Exchange Program
As a major international school of management, SDA Bocconi is engaged in an active and prestigious network of exchanges,
collaborations and interactions with peer institutions. The International Exchange Program offers selected candidates the opportunity
to spend the last months of the program at another top business school.
Students who apply for an International Exchange Program must demonstrate precise interests and solid motivations for going abroad
by providing a clear indication of why the experience is necessary for their personal growth and career advancement.
The School evaluates the reasons candidates put forward, and gives priority to those who most clearly demonstrate that they can
benefit from the exchange.
Owing to the varying schedules of partner Universities, outgoing students may be involved in the Exchange Program
starting from September/October and ending in November/December.

but feel an immense feeling of both gratitude and fulfillment... During my time away from
home, I traveled over 25,000 miles on 14 flights and countless trains, visiting 15 cities in 9
countries. While in Milan, I took 10 classes across 2 modules, completing 15 credits by spending
over 150 hours in the classroom, going on 5 company visits and giving 8 group presentations.
Not only do I have memories that will last a lifetime, I also completed my MBA and am now
poised to put together all the pieces of the next chapter of my life in New York. But perhaps
the most important thing I learned on my trip may just simply be… Milano, ti amo.

One year has passed and it
feels like yesterday that we all
took the most important
decision of our lives. But if you
think about it not much has
changed. We continue to take
big decisions, but today there is
a difference. We are far more
informed, better prepared and
each one of us has built our

This year we have transformed,
both personally and
professionally. And without a
doubt, SDA Bocconi has been
instrumental in this process.

Many of our global recruiting partners
say we make their life easier, as we assist
them in selecting the best fitting
candidates for their talent pipeline.
The best reward for us?
When our alumni become in turn
successful leaders, and come back on
campus year after year to recruit new,
world class MBA talent.

Shaping your career after the MBA
is a very personal journey, you need to know
your strengths, your weaknesses and
your dreams very well.
Like in any other journey, a good
buddy makes the difference.
The Career Service is your companion:
they will help you better know yourself
and give you the opportunities you were
really looking for, so that you’ll be best
prepared to take them.
How much could an MBA from SDA Bocconi
really help me conduct a career switch?
As changing career was my main objective, this was
a doubt of mine prior to starting what would
be the best decision of my life.
Not only did SDA build a solid foundation of
practical experiences and leadership skills, but it
also empowered and gave me the confidence to
chase my dreams. I walked into SDA as an analyst
in financial services and walked out with a new
horizon in marketing at a leading beauty company.

REV UP YOUR ENGINES FOR THE SUMMER INTERNSHIP
Our MBA is one of the very few one-year programs that include a mandatory summer internship.
The Summer Internship campaign is where you start interacting with a network of international employers who are recruiting MBA
students for eight to twelve weeks internship projects between June and August.
How you prepare for this campaign is crucial, as the summer internship is not only an opportunity to apply to real life what you have
learned in the classroom, but for many of you might well be the first step in the right direction of a career change.
The campaign starts as early as November with tough selection processes, an invaluable bootcamp to develop the right skills for your
permanent job search. Chances are this is the first time you are encountering such high profile, demanding recruiters and the Career
Service team will make sure you go to the appointment in top shape, prepping you with a range of activities.
CAREER COUNSELING
Targeted, pragmatic one-on-one advice and interview practice by Career Service team members – each one an expert in different
industry sectors – to help you with your professional goals and your day-to-day quest for your career change.
CAREER SEMINARS & WORKSHOPS
Envision your career plan, engage in challenging discussions with experts in different industries, test your job interviewing, networking
or salary negotiation skills, learn to crack those business cases. The seminars & workshop program varies according to each class
profile and market trends, but always includes the fundamentals of job market dynamics and a thorough preparation for the most
challenging selection processes.
COACHING
A tailored coaching program with top SDA Bocconi coaches which help you enhance your self awareness, recognize your strengths
and maximize your personal growth during your whole MBA experience.

MEET THE EMPLOYERS
All year round, Career Service invites employers and alumni to post job opportunities on our Career Portal or to
come on campus to meet MBA students, interview them and recruit them for summer internships or permanent
positions.
Attending company presentations and networking events and making yourself visible helps you start creating a network of contacts
you will be able to build on for years to come.
Visiting employers at their sites is even more exciting: interest-based groups of students may be invited to and help organize Career
treks and Company visits in Italy and abroad.
International Business Challenges sponsored by global companies in the healthcare, consumer goods, consulting or venture capital
sectors encourage the most competitive candidates of top business schools to engage in a fair but tough competition over a business
case. Winning teams get great visibility and often gain a fast track to a summer internship engagement and more.
Even if some employers are not able to come on campus, it does not mean they are not interested in you: Career Service coordinates
applications to online job-postings on the School’s platform and helps recruiters to select candidates for interviews directly from the
CV Database.
Career Service also encourages entrepreneurship and partners with students who seek employment on their own, providing advice
and facilitating contacts.

WE SUPPORT YOUR POST-MBA JOB SEARCH
The permanent recruiting campaign starts officially in June, when the 800+ employers and alumni in our database
receive a hard or soft copy of the current class CV Book, and continues after graduation.
For permanent jobs, the bar is even higher: the selection process for the most sought-after MBA rotational programs or key
management positions is really tough. The good news is that by this time most MBA candidates have developed excellent networking
and interviewing skills, have a summer internship experience under their belt and are able to interact effectively with recruiters. This
is also where you make us the most proud and contribute to raising the profile of our School with the best global employers.
Still searching for your ideal job after graduation? You will find that the Career Service team will continue supporting you long after
you have left the campus. We will stay in touch, continuing to advise you individually and sending contacts and job opportunities
your way: together we will succeed.

MAIN CLUB EVENTS
The Rolex MBA’s Conference and Regatta. This annual regatta is the most
popular event organized by SDA Bocconi in partnership with Rolex and Yacht
Club Italiano.
It brings together students and alumni of the world’s top business schools with
managers from leading Italian and international organizations. A conference
on emerging issues also takes place alongside the regatta: students, alumni
and guests from universities, industry and finance join together for an
exchange of ideas. The 2015 edition of the regatta took place in Santa
Margherita Ligure and Portofino. Through the years the event hosted schools
such as Harvard, Tuck, Wharton and London Business School.
The MBA Ski Cup. The MBA Ski Cup was one of the main events of 2015.
The 12th edition of the Ski Cup was held in Bormio. Through the years the
event has seen a growing participation of students and alumni as well as
guests from other prestigious European Business Schools.
INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS
Every year our students participate in a number of international competitions where they meet and compete
against teams from other Schools. Students from the class of 2013 won the A.T. Kearney Global Prize competition,
while MBA 2014 students won second place at the Venture Capital Investment Competition at IESE in Barcelona.
SDA Bocconi team came second in the 2015 Healthcare Case Competition organized by Warwick Business School
in London and our teams regulary participate in the Hult Prize, a start-up accelerator for budding young social
entrepreneurs emerging from the world's universities. 2016 highlights include the Amazon Case Competition at
HEC Paris; the 2nd International Case Competition in Finance, organized by the MBA Finance Club with the
sponsorship of Bain & Company, Edison and Lazard; and the 1st edition of Imagine Bocconi, a 3-day hackathon in
collaboration with Generali, to generate new ideas for making insurance appealing to millennials.
Launching Imagine Bocconi with such an extraordinary team
was a unique opportunity to challenge myself. If you want
to raise the bar, SDA Bocconi is the right place to be.

Italian University to grant a degree in economics.
For over a century, Bocconi has played a leading role in Italy’s social and economic

Choosing SDA Bocconi and coming to Milano means choosing a vibrant environment,

In short, a wealth of international contacts and opportunities. And Milano, of course,
is culture, fashion, design, food and the art of living.
