Machine polishing tools
After machining a metal surface on NC machine tools, such as machining centers etc., using tools, including ball-end mills etc. to a
specific shape, we have devised a way to create a mirror-finish (surface roughness within Ra50nm) with one chuck by using a machine
polishing tool affixed with a special rubber bonded grind stone (hybrid rubbing). Due to an up/down damper function and circular
damper function the point of the grind stone is able to follow the contours of the work, making it possible to polish flat surfaces,
free-form 3D surfaces and vertical walls of metal dies etc.
