knowledge – character – compassion… in a tradition of faith
February 2, 2011
Feast of the Presentation of the Child Jesus
“KNOWLEDGE – CHARACTER – COMPASSION…
IN A TRADITION OF FAITH”
Dear parishioners and friends of All Saints:
Our children are important and have a special place in our parish. Our school is
one of our greatest treasures and so we generously contribute in a festive way tonight on
behalf of our children who God has entrusted to our care. This year we take special
pride in the recognition of All Saints as a BLUE RIBBON SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE
and “CATHOLIC SCHOOL OF THE MONTH” by the national publication “Today’s
Catholic Teacher”.
I am delighted that you are here tonight to celebrate Casino Night and Auction
2011. A special ‘thank you’ to the PTO Planning Committee for their wonderful work
in helping make this evening a success. I continue to be inspired by the parents, faculty,
administration and staff who make All Saints School a place of excellence in faith and
learning and of course, our children, for whom we gather tonight.
Your support of the school is greatly appreciated. Let us celebrate together, and
enjoy this evening in thanksgiving to Almighty God for our families and parish.
Love and Blessings,
Fr. Bob Cilinski
Pastor

A Message from Our Casino Night &
Auction Committee Chairperson
Dear Parents and Friends of All Saints School,
It is a pleasure to welcome you to the 2011 All Saints Casino Night & Auction.
We have a wonderful evening of games and entertainment planned for you. I thank
you for joining us to celebrate and support our wonderful Catholic School.
Regardless of the activity, I am always struck by the unbelievable generosity of
the All Saints community, the process of coordinating tonight’s Casino Night &
Auction was no exception. Along every step of the planning process, parents,
teachers and staff of All Saints constantly surprised me with their giving of their time,
talent and treasures. Their generosity has made the process of creating tonight’s
event feel effortless.
I am extremely grateful to Mr. Conroy & Father Bob for their leadership &
unwavering support; to Ann Potocnak for her many talents, ideas and enthusiasm; to
the Auction leadership for their dedication, professionalism and collaborative spirit;
and to all the Auction volunteers who were willing to serve in any capacity needed.
It was an honor to work with each of you and I thank you for being a part of
tonight’s success.
Most of the prizes and auction items for tonight’s event have been donated by
members of our school & parish community and many surrounding businesses. It is
though their donations that the PTO will be able to utilize the proceeds of this
evening in support of the school.
Thank you for being our guest this evening and for your generous support of the
All Saints Catholic School.
In Christ’s Peace,
Carol Mirko Rice

Dear Parents and Friends of All Saints,
Tonight it is my pleasure to welcome you to our Casino Night & Auction. We gather this evening in
support of our commitment to excellence in Catholic education and we celebrate the fact that All Saints is a
place where learning is integrated with the very best traditions of our faith.
The success of All Saints is in great part due to the parish community and the PTO, for it is through
their support that our students have access to state-of-the-art learning tools and resources. Through the
generosity of our parent community, great things truly happen for the children of All Saints! One need only
walk through our building and observe students working with ACTIV Board technology or view the
sculptures fired in our school kiln to see firsthand the difference you make in the daily lives of the children.
The funds raised from this year’s event will enable us to continue to provide our students a premier
educational experience. The auction proceeds create a third source of funding in support of the operating
budget and classroom resources. As such, we are able to continue our commitment to maintaining affordable
tuition rates while investing money in the classrooms, directly impacting the learning environment.
I wish to thank all of the individuals and businesses who have so graciously offered their support for
this event. Such an occasion is only possible because of the dedication of many parents and friends within
our community who have planned and worked diligently behind the scenes. In a special way, I wish to
extend a word of thanks to Mrs. Carol Rice, auction chairperson, as well as the many members of the
committee. Without their enthusiasm, creativity and generous sharing of time & expertise, such a
wonderful event would not be possible.
I also wish to extend a word of appreciation to all in attendance this evening. Through your
participation in tonight’s event, you are contributing in a meaningful way to the continued success of our
school. On behalf of the students and faculty, thank you for your support!
With sincere thanks and appreciation,
David E. Conroy, Jr.
Principal

A Message from
Our PTO President
Dear Friends of All Saints School,
On behalf of the PTO, and the Auction
Committee, I graciously welcome you to this year’s
event. We thank you for your continued support of
All Saints School. Tonight’s event is an example of
community-building and fundraising combined, two
of the PTO’s primary objectives.
Thanks!
With your support, the PTO is able to continue to
complement the school in several ways. Among our
student activities, the PTO sponsors the Christmas
Parade entry, An Evening with St. Nicholas, the Eighth
Grade Graduation, All Saints Feast Day and Catholic Schools Week ice cream, as well as
Class Field Trips. For our teachers and staff, we help with start-up funds and Christmas
bonuses, appreciation luncheons and, this year, a completely redesigned break room. As
classroom needs arise, such as maintenance of the ACTIV boards, the PTO is there to help.
Celebrations for the whole school community, such as the much-anticipated Back to
School BBQ, are enjoyed by a growing number each year.
Of course, none of the above would be possible without the generosity of time and
talents of the collective family of All Saints: teachers and staff, children and parents, and
our partners in the community. I would also like to extend a special thanks to Carol Rice
and the Auction Committee for the months of hard work that make tonight’s event
possible.
Again, thank you for attending this evening and for your continued, generous support!
God Bless You and Your Families,
Holly Stefonsky
PTO President

School of Excellence
Congratulations!
All Saints School
and the
Peace & Justice Players
on their
“School of the Month”
recognition from
Today’s Catholic Teacher
Magazine
Mrs. Judy Fisher, former All Saints
teacher and assistant principal,
founded the Peace & Justice Players
in 2004. She recently submitted an
article about the group and its
activities to Today’s Catholic Teacher,
a highly respected magazine
written specifically for educators
committed to providing excellence
in Catholic education throughout
our nation. It was Mrs. Fisher’s
hope that others would read about
the Peace & Justice Players and
create similar organizations within
their Catholic school communities.
