There are many careers in the media and
entertainment industries, but how do you know
which one is right for you? You want to pursue
the careers that you know are best for you,
keeping in mind your knowledge, strengths,
weaknesses, and career goals. For this
assignment, you will be researching different job
descriptions to identify the right career for you
and determine the companies you’d like to work
for.

the instructions for this assignment.
1. Find an entry-level job or internship posting
that could be a potential step toward your career
goals on any media/entertainment company
website or in a trade publication, Include a
screenshot or image of the posting in your
presentation.
2. How could this position help advance you on
your career path? How could this be a the step to
help you reach your long-term goals
3. Explain the process to apply.
4. What steps would you take to secure an
interview?
5. How would you prepare for the interview
6. What local associations, unions, clubs, etc.
would you want to join to help you network and
increase your chances to be considered for the
position?
7. What experience or attributes would the
employer want to see on your resume to select
you for the job? What skills are needed
8. Go to the Full Sail University website
(www.fullsail.edu). Review all of the classes (and
their descriptions) that are in your degree
program. List the classes that you think will help
you best prepare for the job posting and describe
why you feel that way.
9. Review the Business E-mail examples in the
Week 4 Downloads. Compose a business e-mail
“cover letter” that would accompany your resume
and application materials (similar to Example 2).
Be sure that your e-mail includes:
1) a clear, business-like subject line
2) a business appropriate greeting
3) brief, concise, logical body content
4) a request for response or follow-up
5) a professional closing “signature” with
your contact information
