Dear Friends of Saint George's School
Welcome to our 2010 auction — a long-standing tradition to raise funds, build community, celebrate
our school, and have fun. We are incredibly lucky to have Marsha Caputo as our chair this year.
Marsha has worked tirelessly to make sure this year’s auction is a huge success. Her energy,
enthusiasm, ingenuity, and planning — not to mention connections — have poised us for an amazing
event. Many thanks to Marsha and her husband Kent Caputo for making such a wonderful venue and
program a reality. She has a terrific group of team members fully engaged in making our Dragon Goes
to Monte Carlo Auction the best ever.
The school is thriving — thanks to all of you who have selflessly given your time, talent, and treasure
to propel us forward for over 50 years. We have beautiful facilities and the loveliest campus in the
region. We have strong board leadership, a terrific faculty, and a broad program focused on the skills
your children will need to thrive in the 21st century.
Many of our programmatic enhancements — Outdoor Program canoes, the piano for the Lower School
Music program, biotech laboratory equipment in the Upper School, to name a few — are made
possible by our fund and fun-raising auction. Please join us at the new Northern Quest Resort to
celebrate the year, to support the school and its fine programs, and to have a great time as part of this
wonderful community.
I look forward to seeing you there.
Warmly,
Mo Copeland, Head of School
Welcome high rollers!
Thank you all for attending the Saint George's “Dragon Goes to Monte Carlo” high stakes, fast action and free
spending (we hope) 2010 Gala Auction. You are our VIPs and we very much appreciate you — thank you for
attending.
This festive event supports every aspect of Saint George's unique educational effort including financial aid,
small class sizes, academics, athletics, the arts and technology, faculty professional development and more. Our
children are fortunate to have this stellar school to attend with its spectacular faculty and staff.
I want to thank everyone who volunteered so generously to help put on this fabulous affair. The willingness of
so many parents, staff and teachers to help with this year’s auction has been tremendous. Their creativity,
cooperation and countless hours of work have made this auction a reality, and with your bidding support, we can
make our children the biggest winners.
In addition, I would like to give a special thanks to the Kalispel Tribe and the Northern Quest Resort & Casino
for their generous underwriting and sponsorship of our event and to their talented and responsive staff for all
their help.
Enjoy this fabulous new hotel, good friends and friendly competition.

Silent Auction Rules
1. All Silent Auction items have designated bid sheets. To bid, fill in the
information requested, including your bid number and the amount of your bid.
2. The first bid on the bid sheet must be equal to or greater than the minimum bid as
stated on the bid sheet. Each new bid must increase the amount of the previous
bid by the minimum raise stated on the bid sheet.
3. If minimum bid is not observed, the item will go back to the last correct minimum
bid and that bid number will be deemed the winner.
4. Silent Auction items will be sold when they reach Guaranteed Purchase Price as
noted on bid sheets. At the designated closing time, an item must have received
at least the minimum listed value to be considered sold.
5. You may bid on as many items as desired in any Silent Auction section until the
section is closed. A Silent Auction official will circle the top bid number and
amount.
6. THE HIGHEST WRITTEN BID ON EACH BID SHEET AT THE TIME
OF CLOSING IS THE WINNER.
7. If an item has several people still bidding at the time of the table closing, the
Closing Supervisor will conduct a final bid off.
8. The bid sheets will then be entered into the computer as soon as possible.
PLEASE ALLOW TIME FOR YOUR BIDS TO BE ENTERED INTO THE
COMPUTER BEFORE CHECKING OUT. CHECKOUT BEGINS AT 8:30
FOR SILENT AUCTION ITEMS ONLY.
9. Values set forth for Silent Auction Items are estimates of fair market value
provided by the donor and are not warranted by Saint George’s School for tax
purposes or for general value.
10. The items sold at auction have a fair market value. Only the amount paid in
excess of those fair market values is deductible.
11. Please note booking times and restrictions as presented in the catalog. It is the
responsibility of the buyer to contact the donor and/or agent within ONE
MONTH following the Auction unless other arrangements or restrictions are
specified.
12. If you notice a gap in the numbering of items, don’t worry. It just means
something has been moved or combined with another item.
Live Auction Rules
1. Upon entry, each guest will be given a bid number. To bid in the Live Auction,
hold your card up high with the bid number toward the Auctioneer.
2. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer and is a
legal contract to purchase the item. The decision of the Auctioneer will be final.
3. All sales are final and there will be no exchange or refund on items.
4. The successful bidder is to make full payment for all sales the evening of the
auction. Payment may be made with cash, check, MasterCard, Visa, or Discover.
5. Fund-an-item: Fund an item allows us to address the specific needs Saint
George’s School has that are not in the budget.
6. MULTIPLE SALES: Several Live Auction items will be sold to more than one
bidder. These items are listed under “Value” as per/person, per/couple, per/item,
or/each. The auctioneer will ask for bids at the value listed. If the number of bids
exceeds the spots/items available, the auctioneer will raise the value until the
number of bidders is equal to the number of spots/items available.
7. An Auction worker will record your purchased item and your bid number in the
computers. You will not be required to sign the bid sheet for the Live Auction.
This means that no one will come to your table to get your signature. Please pay
attention to the Auctioneer for the winning bid number for each item. PLEASE
ALLOW TIME FOR YOUR BIDS TO BE ENTERED INTO THE COMPUTER

SGS-CSI Special Agents for a Day
Love NCIS and CSI? Be an SGS crime investigative specialist for a day!
Two adventurous students will begin their crime solving expedition by getting outfitted with their very
own custom SGS Investigative Service Special Agent Gear (hats and shirts – theirs to keep). Judge Patti
Walker will be their host for the day, first escorting them to have hot chocolate/coffee and donuts with
Spokane Police Detectives. The two special agents will enjoy a fun filled and exciting day as crime
investigative specialists, first exploring Spokane’s own Police Department Forensic Lab, next they will
try their hands at solving a crime with major crime detectives. If their work is not up to par, they will
spend some time visiting juvenile detention (an out of custody visit). Lastly, they will watch part of a
live criminal case in progress in court.
Because we know this action packed day will only begin to peak their interest in forensics, the two
special agents will go home with their very own forensic crime solving kits, equipped with crime scene
tape, evidence tags, forensic evidence handling instructions and all the equipment necessary to dust
evidence for prints to match against suspect prints, test fabric samples for the presence of blood to solve
the crime. And since no forensic kit would be complete without some toys, the specialists will also find
in their kits their very own CSI Wii games so that they can test their new forensic skills on friends,
family or teachers.
