Institute is very well aware of its social responsibilities, regular blood donation camps, village
cleaning and tree plantations are some of the activities which reflects the noble intentions of
the staff members. In this regards our institute has won University award in 2012 and State
Level award in 2013.
Internationally acclaimed societies such as IEEE, CSI and others are successfully functioning in
the institute.
The versatility of faculty members are reflected by their renowned and acclaimed
contribution. To name some of those are consultancy in Architecture, Civil Work,
Manufacturing of Technological products etc.
Special cells for the guidance of reserve category students in context with scholarship and
grants of government.
Recently additional efforts are initiated in the domain of Industry Institute Interaction (III)
and significantly on Training and Placement (T&P) of Students.
Employees credit cooperative society is functioning smoothly and all the staff members are
being benefited.
Every department is running clubs for providing platform to student in developing their event
management skills and team work spirit.
Students of the institute is participating every year in Robotics competition, ROBOCON, and
securing top ranking amongst the team from all over India including IITs. Moreover, institute
got award of Best Robot Developed by Rural Institute at National Robotics Competition 2012
organised by MIT, Group of Institute, Pune.
Regular workshop is being conducted in every department on technical topics, aptitude,
group discussion, personal interview and entrepreneurial development to enhance the

Departmental magazine and English club are helping in improving writing and speaking skills

NSS Organizes Blood Donation Camp

organized Blood Donation Camp.
The camp was inaugurated by Sau.
Varshatai Patel in the presence of
Principal Dr. S.S.Rathore, Prof.
D.K.Pande, Dr.Suvarna Hubekar, Dr.
Sanjay

and

dignitaries. With the inspiration
from Shri Praful Patel and Shri
Rajendra Jain, the camp was
organized by NSS Program Officer
Dr. Sanjay Asutkar. 27 NSS
volunteers donated blood on the
occasion. Bhushan Khobragade, Raja Rahi, Amit Shukla, Saurabh Gautam, Parag Lanjewar, Md. Avesh,
Mohit Kochar, Ankit Agrawal, Ankit Girhe, Soyal Barewar, Utkarsh Wasnik, Sayali Dhurve, Shruti
Singanjude, and other volunteers donated blood. With the cooperation from Gondia District Civil
Surgeon Dr. Ravishekhar Dhakate, the bleeding was done by Dr. Suvarna Hubekar, Ms. Ambedare,
Vinod Bansod, and other technical staff.

Examinations
The students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering have secured top
position in the university in B.E. Summer 2013 Examination of RTM Nagpur
University. The HOD, faculty members and support staff have congratulated them.

“Academic Excellence”
MIET Gondia Students perform exceptionally good in the
university examination
BE Second Semester results have been declared recently by RTM Nagpur University Nagpur.
Students from Manoharbhai Patel Institute of Engineering Technology, Gondia, performed
exceptionally well in the aforesaid examination.
The pass percentage has been improved a lot. Nearly 60.04 % students cleared the
examination out of which more than 20 % students scored marks above 75 % & nearly 75 %
students scored between 60 % to 75 % marks.
Ms Hindushri Patel of the institute scored 90 % marks & secured II position in the college
where as Mr Sagar Donode stood first securing 91.16 %.
Management, Principal, Faculty members of the institute extended their best wishes to all
the successful students.

TechUnion, Pune has conducted campus interviews at MIET, Gondia dated 5-6th July
2013. The students of the 2013 pass out batch were eligible for the interview, 4

Harsha Shukrani (Computer Tech), Sandhya Mulchandani (Computer Tech). The
students will be placed as Assistant Executive Officer (AEO- KR).

A Seminar on Effective Interview Techniques Organized
at MIET Gondia
“Training of Students”
A seminar on “Effective Interview Techniques” was organized at MIET Gondia on 29 July 2013 under
the aegis of Training & Placement Cell of the institute. The seminar was inaugurated by the Principal,
Dr. S. S. Rathore in the presence of Dr. Vijay S. Chourasia, Co-ordinator, Industry Institute Interaction
cell and others. The objective of the seminar was to prepare the students for placement. Eminent
resource person Shri Ravi Prakash and Shri Anup Kumar SIngh from Adani Power Maharshtra Ltd.,
Tirora have presented the seminar. The program was conducted by Dr. Vijay S. Chourasia with the help
of Kritika Shah.

First year Engineering STudents Association (FIESTA) of Manoharbhai Patel Institute
of Engineering & Technology, Gondia recently organized three day activities like
sports, industrial visit & debate competition for I yr students.
All the BE first year students attended & participated in the flag hoisting ceremony
held in the college premises to celebrate the 67th Independence day. Dr. S. S.
Rathore, principal, MIET unfurl the national tricolor in presence of the faculty
members, technical staff & students.
There-after, the football match was held between the two teams. Kulvinder singh
Bhatti scored two goals for his team & recorded a victory. Team includes Kulvinder
(captain), Jaideep, Lakshmikant, Harsh, Sajal, Amandeep, Abhishek, Omkar, Shubham,
Dhananjay, Koustubh, Sagar, Abhijeet, Manish & Anmol.
Basket ball match was held for girls. Team including Sneha, Khushboo, Bharti,
Priyanka, Neeti agrawal, Aarti, Simran & Niti Thakre played well & scored two points
& declared won.
Students also took out a bike rally shouting the slogans like Vande Mataram, Bharat
Mata ki Jai, Swantantrata Diwas Chirau Ho etc. This activity reflected the patriotism
present in today’s generation.
Other day was devoted for the industrial visit. More than 200 students visited the 33

KV sub-station located at Hiwara. Students collected the first hand information about
how & at what voltage the ac power is received at that substation & the out-put
magnitude. Students were happy to see the real big transformer of the rating 33 KV /
11 KV. They also studied the function of CT /PT, Circuit Breakers, Isolators, Feeders,
Express feeder. Debate competition was held on the last day to mark the death
anniversary of Founder of Gondia Education Society Late Manoharbhai Patel. Topic to
debate was “Easy internet access: A CURSE for today’s young generation”. Total four
teams participated in the event. Dr P. R. Dhote & Dr V. R. Chandrayan judged the
debate. Anuj Jain & Kaustabh Nakade bagged second prize while Ms Sejal Agrawal &
Sakshi Khandelwal adjudged the best debaters. Others who participated in the
competition were Swapnil, Shantanu, Simran juneja, Rahul ranjan.

Association) anchored the program & gave brief idea about the curricular & extracurricular activities conducted in the previous session under the banner of FIESTA.
She also listed down the activities to be conducted by the club in the current session.
Top scorers of BE Second semester in university examination (2012-13) Ms.
Hindushree Patel (90%) & Mr Sagar Donode (91.16%) were felicitated in the function
at the hands of Mrs Roy.

In-Charge BE First Year, Prof D. Y. Kadel announced the names of all the students
office bearers & Dr. S. S. Rathore, Principal, MIET felicitated them.
Dr Rathore requested the students to study hard & realize their dreams, bring name,
fame to the institution.
Dr Anup Sharma delivered the lecture on the topic “use of plastic & it’s hazards” The
deliberation has benefited the students a lot. Students were being asked to say NO to
plastic bags whenever they go out for purchasing.

Officer Dr. Atul Salunke, Dr. Shakera Inamdar, and other dignitaries were on the
occasion. He is working as NSS Program Officer of MIET since last eight years, and as
Gondia District Coodinator for the last two years. He was also awarded as the Best
NSS Program Officer Award by Dr. Vilas Sapkal, Hon. Vice Chancellor, Rashtrasant
Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University for the academic session 2009-2010. He has
been awarded for implementing National Service Scheme activities like cleanliness
drive, raising awareness about conservation of water, environment, forest
protection, HIV/AIDS, blind beliefs, superstition, deaddiction, organizing blood
donation camps, public awareness rallies, conducting Art of Living Nav Chetna Shibir
in different villages of Gondia district. He is also a Teacher in Art of Living Foundation,
and member of Lions Club Gondia Civil. He owes the credit of his award to Art of

MIET organizes a Program on Stress Management
A long seminar on "STRESS MANAGEMENT" was organized for engineering students at the seminar hall of
MIET, Gondia. Principal Dr. S.S.Rathore inaugurated t he event.
Prof. P.R.Halani introduced the guest and the Psychological counselling committee and its objectives. The key
note speaker Dr Shibu Acharya, the renowned Psychiatric of Gondia guided students on stress and strain
management. According to him every person goes through stressful phase in life and the impact of the stress
can be good or bad in his life. Good stress motivates while the bad one damages the confidence. One can
overcome the problem of stress by adopting a realistic approach as well as pl aying at least one game/sports
regularly.
Students were told about Psychological problems that they may face and how they may overcome their
problems with right attitude and the way of thinking.
Dr P.R. Dhote, Dr V R Chandrayan, Prof D Y Kadel, Dr Mrs M D Roy were the prominent among those present.
