BBBS News (July—Sept.)
Meet & Greet
September Activity
This month, we met in
the bar at Le Club West
Island on July 9th and
what a fabulous turn-out we had! We covered
all the ongoing news and events happening at
BBBS and shared some great food and
company!
Vintage Road Race: Every year, the VRRA
(Vintage Road Race Association) generously
invites BBBS to watch the races they hold,
free of charge! Thank you VRRA for providing this wonderful opportunity for us to enjoy
this entertaining event!
Daycamp SportLife
We were fortunate enough to have been
offered some spots at this wonderful new
summer camp this past summer. The kids
had a wonderful time and the parent were
extremely grateful to have lightened the
financial burden of a day camp! If you would
like more info about this day camp, please
visit their website at http://sport-life.ca/
July Activity
This event ended up getting cancelled because
everyone was on vacation!
Our director Francesca and In-School
Mentoring caseworker Meagan attended the
annual National Convention in Ontario from
July 1-4th.
On July 4th, some tickets to an Alouettes
Game were donated. Thank you to Telus,
Denburk Reid of Montreal Community Cares
and the Alouettes for giving us this great
opportunity!
We really got spoiled this month with movie
passes! Thanks to Rosie at Promo Avenue
and 20th Century Fox for sending many
double-passes our way.
Thank you to the company Grand & Toy for
donating many office supplies! They are much
appreciated.
On July 31st, Old Navy, in Fairview Pointe
Claire, invited a few of our Littles to experience
working in the retail industry for an afternoon.
They got hands-on experience with customers
and learned how to fold clothing among other
things. Thank you so much Old Navy.
AUGUST
August Activity
We attended Skatefest 2014 in Dorval and 2 of
our Littles were cruising around on their bikes,
skateboards and roller blades while the others
hung out and watched the
competitors show off their
amazing skills.
Congratulations to one of
our Game On!
Volunteers Kevin Leitch,
who placed 2nd in the
Classic Short category at
the IFBB World Qualifier
on
August 9th. Kevin also
offers personal training
sessions where he works
at Le Club West Island.
BBBS is obtaining 3 new
board members in the
near future. Welcome aboard!

Our first Glam fundraiser for the ladies was a
success! Thank you to all who attended as
well as all of the nail and make-up artists,
