Dear Fellow Students:
For the first time in a long
while. CSUN has finally
started down the right track.
We have cleaned up our act.
and we are now ready to
assume our responsibilities
as a functioning part of this
University community. We

last year. CSUN has increased our services, whilelowering the amount of compensation to our directors. During
the Fall 1986 Semester,
CSUN paid out less money
in stipends and fee waivers
than any other year in recent
history. I stand firmly behind
this policy of lower
remuneration for CSUN personnel. The reward for being
in student goverment should
be the experience, not the
paycheck. 1 have often said
that if someone is paying
their bills with CSUN
stipends, then they are making too much money.
CSUN's public image is at the station. Under a new

should be in the library
within a week. The intent is
to
provide basic texts to
students who cannot afford
to buy all of their books.
This program will expand
and include many more texts
in the years to come.
Once again. I am starting
a CSUN scholarship. Two
thousand dollars is being set
aside to help fund the educa-
tion of UNLV students not
working for CSUN. There
are a lot of students who
devote a great deal of time to
improving UNLV's campus
life, and I feel that they
should receive some kind of
renumeration for their
dedication.
CSUN must continue to
work together to ensure that
the programs and services
we offer students are the very
best. Moreover, we must
forever be searching for better and more complete ways
to serve those areas of the
University that are often
neglected.
I am committed to achieving these ideals, and 1 urge
all of you to help me make
them a reality.
Sincerly

Wade leads the nation in

his nearest competitor.
All of the statistics still
don't measure Wade's importance to his teammates.
"Wherever Mark goes we

UNLV is under constant
attack for low player graduation rates. Yet. all six seniors

criticism is undeserved.
"Tarkanian gives them an
oppurtunity, but the effort
has to start with the player,"
Wade said.
After his graduation with a

professional, but realizes that
his chances are slim.

said, "But they always look
