UPDATE ON GLAMARAMA 2016
Now that the National Rally in Perry Georgia has successfully completed and many snowbirds are planning or already started their trek back north it is time to get serious about GLAMARAMA 2016. The Great
Lakes Area MotorCoach Association’s annual rally (GLAMARAMA) returns to the premier rally location at
the Elkhart County 4H Fairground in Goshen Indiana. The rally which begins on Wednesday, June 8
includes four nights of camping with everyone departing by noon on Sunday, June 12. Everyone will have
a minimum of 30 amp electric and continuous water with a limited number of 50 amp full hookups
available for an additional fee. Those needing this additional connection should register immediately to
better assure availability as in the past 50 amp sites go very quickly.
What can you expect at GLAMARAMA 2016? How about three nights of excellent entertainment never
before offered by FMCA rallies? They include on Wednesday night Mike Albert, a well renowned Elvis
impersonator who will rock your socks off. On Friday night Cahal Dunne, “Ireland’s Happy Man” is a
composer, classically trained concert pianist, story teller, comedian and television personality. Then on
Saturday night you will be entertained by the four dynamic Atlantic City Boys who have wowed audiences
at Las Vegas, Walt Disney World, and of course, Atlantic City.
Of course there will be food! Thursday and Saturday hot breakfast, Friday coffee and donuts, Thursday ice
cream social along with a Friday afternoon picnic lunch are all included in your registration fee. There will
also be a Vendor and chapter officer’s reception on Friday and a volunteer dinner on Saturday evening.
Luckily our coaches have additional weight capacity to carry us home following the rally.
Vendors and others are requesting seminars. The schedule for both seminars and craft classes are filling
the spaces to the brim. We are pleased this year to include seminars by tire expert Roger Marble, who
prior to retirement worked for 40 years as a tire design and quality engineer. Currently Roger writes a blog
on tires at the site RVTireSafety.com. Roger also serves on FMCA’s Technology Advisory Committee and
monitors the "Tires" section of the FMCA forums. Be sure to look for his seminars when you receive your
program and the Rally At A Glance, which should have the most up-to-date information on the rally events.
Do you want to learn more about how to cook excellent meals in your microwave convection oven? We’ve
got the formula for you. Nancy Ruster has mastered this art and she is going to share her skills for all those
ready to learn. There will also be line dancing, genealogy, conversion coach tours and, of course, tours of
Dometic and Jayco.
For an additional fee there will be a Ladies Tea on Saturday and a golf outing Friday morning. To register
for the golf outing you can find it on the registration sheet right above "TOWABLES WELCOME". Dane
Bailey will contact those individuals who sign up for the golf outing and he will also be in the registration
area to answer questions and to share the fun experienced by those who have gone to the golf outing in
the past. Those attending the Ladies Tea might like to wear/bring/show something special and/or funny
during the event.

Thursday evening will be a free night to allow for chapter meetings, gatherings or anything else you
and your friends at the rally would like to take in. Don’t be surprised by the photographer capturing
the fun you’ll have at your individual get togethers. This year Dane Bailey will be calling the card bingo event as the Singing Auctioneer. If for some reason you cannot hear the Singing Auctioneer
calling out the numbers then you’re not on the campground!
GLAMA officers have lowered the cost to vendors for their booths and for the coach display vehicles in
order to create opportunities for increased profit. That, in addition to increased numbers of vendor
bucks to attendees makes for a win-win situation for both the vendors and for attendees. Don’t forget
that volunteers each receive $10 in vendor bucks in addition to the $10 provided to each coach regisSpeaking of the vendors, a list of vendors will soon be uploaded to this website along with craft classes
and the supplies needed. These lists are updated regularly as we approach the actual rally date.
Now it is up to you. Do it now and make certain you volunteer to get the most fun out the rally. That is
how you will find enjoyment while making new friends. See you at the Rally.
