one of the best Pinots I have ever tasted. Food recommendations: try it with lamb and poultry dishes.

Carmènère is a French variety, originally from Bordeaux and was rediscovered in Chile a few years ago. This wine is made

Award winning top of the range wines from the Undurraga family
The Leyda Syrah was short listed for the ‘best red wine in the world’
The Leyda Pinot Noir won ‘Gold Medal’ ( 90 Parker points) beating some of the very expensive Burgundies
T.H. Sauvignon Blanc 2012 Alc Vol 13.5%
(Lo Abarca 2.18 hectares very limited)
This is an intriguing and tangy Sauvignon Blanc, strongly influenced by the Pacific Ocean, which lends it depth and layers of
complexity. Ripe citrus aromas, such as limes and mandarins combine with fennel, honey as well as flinty grassy notes.
The palate is ample and gently structured. This very special wine has crispiness, notes of salt and stone and a very strong
underlying minerality that gives it length and great character. Food recommendations: To enhance the flavours even
more, push the boat out and go with fresh oysters and other types of chilled shellfish.
T.H. Chardonnay 2010 Alc Vol 13.5%
(West Limari Quebrada Seca 2.39 hectares)
This is a refined and restrained Chardonnay, which reveals several white fruit aromas, such as pears and peaches as well
as floral and citric notes. It has a vertical and sharp fruity palate with hints of toasted hazelnuts and dry wheat. The palate
is fruity with mineral notes rounded by a soft creamy texture and a long finish. Food recommendations: To enhance the
flavours even more, marry it with lobster or grilled salmon. You could go with chicken breast served with a lemon butter
sauce.
T.H. Riesling 2010 Alc Vol 12.5%
(San Antonio 1.21 hectares)
As it is a 2011 vintage the wine is still young. At present, it shows a delicate profile of white fruit, such as white peaches
and deep floral notes on the nose. The palate is sustained by a creamy and concentrated fruit texture and it will gain in
complexity and tertiary aromas in the next 10-24 months. Food recommendations: This is a pure joy to drink, but do it
proud and match it with Thai food but also brilliant to wash down proper sushi. Make a ginger lime dressing or you could
try pork with a lemongrass salad.
T.H. Syrah 2011 Alc Vol 13.5%
(Leyda 3.11 hectares very limited)
Spicy and peppery on the nose, with an expressive cool climate character. Fresh wild herbs, black and white pepper and
subtle tar notes combine with a profile of fresh raspberries and acidic wild berries. The palate is fresh and concentrated
with a tense tannin structure and a vibrant acidity that gives freshness and identity to the wine. Food recommendations:
This is perfect Syrah or Shiraz as it more commonly known and to get the best of it go with best quality roast rib of beef or
leg of lamb. Be adventurous and try rich, dark sticky szechuan dishes.
T.H. Carignan 2012 Alc Vol 14.5%
(Maule 3.89 hectares very limited)
Enticingly intense fresh wild berry and red sour cherry aromas, sweet herbal notes and strong hints of earthiness. Refined
and vibrant on the palate with concentrated red fruit flavours, structured ripe tannins and very long persistence. It has
great ageing potential for at least five to six years. Food recommendations: This superb red is perfect for perfectly cooked
Venison and other rich gamey meats.
T.H. Pinot Noir 2011 Alc Vol 13.5%
(Leyda 2.97 hectares very limited)
What a Pinot Noir! Cherry and herbal scented with intense aromas of red cherries, sweet wild herbs, earthy hints and a
light orange peel note. It has a delicate texture and is medium bodied with a vibrant mineral acidity and tensely structured
tannins that provide tension to the palate and a long fruit-driven aftertaste with black cherry being dominant. Food
recommendations:To enhance the flavours even more, Sirloin Steak with Dauphinoise potatoes. Lamb or roasted duck
breast cooked pink, with a cherry or redcurrant sauce is my favourite. This has just won the Sommeliers Award ‘Gold
Medal’ 2014.
