Homeward Bound
Homeward Bound:
A Spouse’s Guide to Repatriation
Like the move overseas, the move home relies on a solid and stable person to act as the
emotional touchstone in order to help everyone else in the family through re-entry shock.
That someone is typically the spouse. Homeward Bound is a repatriation reality check to
help spouses create new, meaningful lives when they return from abroad.
“It’s clear that Pascoe’s goal is not to discourage people from the enriching experience of
being a globally nomadic family, but rather to be better prepared to do it well and gain the
greatest benefits from the experience.”
— Dave Pollock, co-author, Third Culture Kids
“I laughed, I cried, and I read passages out loud to my husband. I can’t tell you how much
it helped to hear your ‘voice’ echo my feelings so well.”
— Melinda Ennis-Roughton, Atlanta, Georgia
