The SuiteLink™ Home Systems Installation and Integration Trainer provides hands-on training in home
systems installation and integration and creates a simulated environment of a typical five-room home built to
industry standards, with an office, kitchen, family room, student bedroom,
master bedroom, and media center.
Students learn how to plan, wire, terminate, install, connect,
test, integrate, and troubleshoot
the systems of today’s digitallyintegrated home networks. They

While this is an extensive training system, it was designed to be easy for the
instructors to train, manage, and monitor each student’s progress. Instructors can tailor
their classes to meet teaching goals, physical classroom restrictions, and student needs.
Course time can easily be shortened or extended, and the instructor can emphasize specific subsystems as needed.
The equipment package included with each trainer contains all the components
needed to wire today’s home networks. Most components were selected from
the well-recognized Leviton & HAI line for quality, availability, durability, and
compatibility.

Skills Training Center (STC)
Each student training center can accommodate six students and consists of a walls package, equipment package,
and student tool sets. Students learn to pull, install, and terminate cable in various types of walls, equipment, and
conditions. The cables and components are color-coded to easily identify each student’s work.
STC equipment packages contain all the required parts, excluding walls, to construct the Skills Training Center.
Each STC is supplied with one Copper Equipment Package, and if the Fiber model is ordered, one Fiber Package.

The Cable Termination Trainer introduces students to
cable termination and network theory and offers hands-on

or in an instructor-led classroom. The trainer contains all

NETTech Network Technology Training Program
CompTIA Network+ Certification recognizes a technician’s ability to describe the features and functions of
networking components and to install, configure, and troubleshoot basic networking hardware, protocols,
and services.
The NETtech Training Program is a CompTIA-approved Network+ training program designed to provide
students with the competitive edge they will need to pass the Network+ Certification exam.
Students should have completed the Graymark COMMANDER PC Troubleshooting and Repair program or have
equivalent experience with PC technology before enrolling in the NETtech program.
The NETtech training program is supported by 75 lab exercises through which students
gain all the essential skills a network technician needs for the job.
Data Communications provides experience in:

Modular Networking Training
In addition to NETtech training program, Lab-Volt offers a Network Fundamentals module. This module teaches
students about the forms and functions of computer networks. Students examine a variety of networks, applications,
and software. The information throughout this module covers a broad range of networking facts and provides an
overview of several Information Technology careers.
Students perform the following activities:
• Compute the power requirements for a UPS (uninterrupted power supply) connected to a specific workstation
• Produce a rough sketch of the classroom
• Use flowcharting software to create a diagram of a star topology, a site plan that includes equipment, a physical
map of the classroom network, and a small home network
• Calculate bend radius of a specified cable and file-download times

SATELLITE COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY
The Graymark GPS-101 training system introduces students to basic digital and analog electronics as well as
GPS technology. Available in kit form, the GPS-101 system contains student courseware, GPS software, and the
following hardware components:

Use Cost-Effective, Introductory 555 Electronics
Module to Teach Analog and Digital Circuits
The Electronics module is provided as a kit. Students build their knowledge of
electronics theory as they follow step-by-step instructions to construct the kit,
one section at a time.
The module is a complete “Introduction to Electronics” course, covering all
Global Positioning System (GPS) and electronics topics.
Navigation concepts and GPS background are discussed. Students learn about latitude and longitude and the
measurement accuracy of GPS hardware. Noise and signal-to-noise ratio concepts are also covered.
The interface board was designed with low-level components to facilitate teaching analog and digital circuits. Students
construct the kit one section at a time. Each section contains a discussion of theory, step-by-step construction
instructions, and hands-on experiences. Surface mount technology (SMT) is taught, and the student mounts several
SMT devices to the PCB. The kit also teaches Global Positioning System (GPS) technology.
