ALWAYS HERE FOR OUR COMMUNITY
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
GET INVOLVED
Meaningful change in our community requires ongoing
encouragement and tools for the people who live here. The Y is
here to support every child and family and help ensure they have
what they need to achieve their best.
As the leading nonprofit, the Y works side-by-side with our
neighbors every day to make sure that everyone, regardless of
age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow
and thrive. To do our important work, the Y relies on support
from members, donors, volunteers and community leaders.
THE ESSENCE OF THE Y
With a commitment to nurturing the
potential of kids, promoting healthy
living, fostering a sense of social
responsibility, and eliminating racism
and empowering women, the Y
ensures that every individual has
access to the essentials needed to
learn, grow and thrive.
EVERYONE IS WELCOME
The YMCA/YWCA welcomes all who
wish to participate and believes that
no one should be denied access to
the Y based on their ability to pay.
Through our People Helping People
Scholarship Program, the Hazleton
YMCA/YWCA provides assistance to
youth, adults and families based on
individual needs and circumstances.
COMMITTED TO OUR COMMUNITY
When you are involved with the Y, you help bring about lasting
personal and social change. Whether you want to nurture the
potential of children and teens, improve your or your family’s
health and well-being, or give back and support your neighbors,
your involvement with the Y will positively impact those in your
community.
Join the Y: Be a part of a cause for strengthening community
that is committed every day to helping you and your kids learn,
grow and thrive.
Give to the Y: Donate vital financial resources for nurturing the
potential of kids, improving the nation’s health and well-being,
giving back and supporting our neighbors, empowering women
and eliminating racism.
Volunteer at the Y: Take an active role in bringing about
meaningful, enduring change right in your own neighborhood.

Determining assistance amounts is handled in a fair and
consistent manner. Every YMCA/YWCA member receives the same
membership benefits, regardless of whether or not they receive
a scholarship. Members can feel confident knowing that they are
a part of an organization that cares greatly for the well-being of
all people, and is committed to youth development, healthy living
and social responsibility.
A Scholarship reduces membership fees; it does not eliminate
them.
All Scholarships will be granted for 6 months. The YMCA requests
that individuals and families reapply every 6 months, with updated
documentation. Membership fees are subject to change when you
reapply. If you do not reapply at the time requested, your
membership will expire.
