MAKE A WISH Performance in collaboration with Maja Marković and Maja Rožman
International Art Academy Workshop: “Lost in translation” 9th International Istanbul Biennial, 2005
Performance "Make a Wish" was performed at the opening of the 9th International Istanbul Biennale. The idea derived from the Turkish belief: "If you find yourself between two persons of the same name you have
the right to make a wish which will then come trhu”. Due to the financial difficulties related to our arrival to the Biennale coming from a country that don’t have money for supporting their students in those kind of
activites and fortunat coincidance that two of the three of us really carry the same name, we decided to earn some money from the audience by providing service, "Make a Wish". II.
DANCEKINGQUEENS
Two-channel video installation 1’53 loop Visura Aperta Festival, Momjan 2005
The work arise like a result of 5 days workshop with kids from the village Momiano in Istria where
the Visura Aperta ’05 festival took part and where I was invited to give this small workshop to kids
from this area. We started to play with movement in relation to camera and video. Reversing
movements and learning them backwards… which end up with a short, 1-minute movement
constellation. At the end I decided to shoot the same thing with grownups, other participate artist
and curators from the festival. III.

Leftovers of beverage and
food Plastic and paper decoration Disco ball

the event
Birthday party organized in gallery space was my first solo show and attempt to question the boundaries between the artist and the spectator. Facilitating the event-situation such as egoistic celebration
of the birth of self and its replacement into the context of gallery opening provokes the conditions for a new reflection on the different methods of representation, production and interpretation of an
artifact. The work is created and celebrated with and by everybody’s presence. Distributing the responsibility among participants I am trying to create a common ground, which we all can equally
consume, create and experience. The success of the evening is determined by the atmosphere that we all create together. The guests were kindly invite to bring presents. All the gifts were placed in a 3 big plexiglas boxes in on one side wall of a gallery. As they were brought in they were becoming an artifacts it self. The
Polaroid photos were taken during the event and simultaneously hanged on the wall in a line around the gallery. People could serve them self with the beverage and the food that was exposed.
Suddenly the space was transformed in a warm colorful naive event of celebration. A mess, leftovers from a previous day, traces and elements of the process stayed in gallery like an exhibition of an
event that happened as a nostalgic, sad melancholy memory of the past. IV.

Autoshow is a social event, a performance and an installation. It includes a produced object (a car named kuper kavijar gtx) and a directed performance
along (reenactment of a car show). It questions the idea of presenting an object, thing or individual, one self (auto) in the society that surrounds us. The way
we try to present something or someone (our self) to an audience. What kind of things is successful in today's consumer-oriented society where everything
is available and where the system of values has been turned upside- down? How to use good marketing tricks to present and in the same time, to "sell" an
"equally" well-packed product? I am dealing with the questions of self-presentation and position of the artist or art in a specific environment, social
constellation, specially addressing Balkan countries or countries in transition. This work also addresses topics like status anxiety, social (un) awareness and
economics in countries in transition, art market, market, wild capitalism, consumer society, society of spectacle, desire objects. The car (auto-mobil) is
presented as an object that lost its basic function – mobility- and became an organ of self-presentation – auto. AUTOSHOW deals with the idea of object
presentation, a new brand on the market and its relation to the presentation of the self in society. Desire to possess, to show off or way to present oneself
through objects that people possess and use to create social status. In countries like ours, where people drive fancy cars bought on loans, without having
money for basic existential needs … III.

Guestbook In Croatia there are no public laundromats whatsoever. Interesting fact that Zagreb, city of almost one million inhabitants
does not have any public place for washing dirty laundry triggers questions about the origin of this custom, about its
acceptance in different localities and acts as certain kind of metaphor of society. By placing a free public laundromat in a
state owned gallery I m questioning political, historical and economical implication of this intimate action that has been
executed publicly. The gallery became a place of gathering, exchange and common activity among artist, curators, cultural workers, students,
pensioners, heavy social cases and homeless people. More than 100 people washed their laundry during the 10 days long
exhibition. As people in Zagreb are not accustomed to visit galleries except for the openings this was one of the most
visited exhibitions in the gallery VN.

TRANSFORMANCE Durational performance 100 days / video 8’15
Video stills Uferstudio 1, Berlin, 2010
The durational performance took place in a space that has been reconstructed from an old BVG
warehouse into a dance center and theater stage, Uferstudios in Wedding, Berlin. More precisely,
in one of the spaces that after almost six months of renovation became a dance stage. During
that period between 22.02.10 and 07.08.10 I was taking every day around 200 portrait photos in
transforming surrounding of construction site from exactly the same position, placing my self in
the middle of the site. What has been captured is a transformation of a space with the still
subject/performer/body inside of it. The six months performance was finished when the stage was
done. VII.

“TRANSFORMANCE” are exhibited in gallery space as
evidence of a performance. While exposing a dirty working

questioning the relation between performance and labor and
at the same time referring to Croatian worker in Germany

Video-performance (Work in progress) Performance Warsaw 2011 New skin old ceremony is a performance-video-work in progress that I have been performing/shooting in last couple of years on
different locations. As I travel to unknown places I record my self spinning. I hold the camera pointed directly into my face and spin
around my self, around my central axis until I lose the balance and hit the ground. Poland, Kosovo, Croatia Germany, Israel, Austria, France...
