Ansel Adams
Ansel Adams born February 20 and grew up in
san Francisco, California. Adam was twelve
when he went to a family trip and captured
images there.from then on he determined his
direction in life. adams philosophy was to
let the subject speak for itself, revealing
through careul compostion and exposure the
inherit beauty of the landscape. Adam’s use
of technique is to carefully study a scene,
visualize the final print, then determine
the correspondence between portions of the
scene and tones in the print. A word that
would describe the photographer is an envionmentalist. Seen as a folk hero and a symbol of the american west.

Dorathea Lange
Dorothea Lange born in May 26, 1895
and grew up in Hoboken, New Jersey. She
took pictures for a practical reasons.
She wanted to bring people’s suffering
to public attention. Lange’s technique
and style was taking photos in black
and white during the “Depression Era”.
A word that would describe the photographers style is depression because her
photos are pretty much based on people’s harsh times and sad lifes.

Robert Capa

Margaret Bourke-White
Margaret Bourke-white born in June
14, 1904. She grew up in the Bronx,
New York. Her father was fascinated
by cameras and encouraged Margaret’s early interest in photography.
Bourke-Whites style was dramatic she
used in industrial and architectural
subjects. A word that would describe
the photogapher is warfare of her
style captruing images of warfare.

Annie Liebovitz
Annie Liebovitz was born in October 2, 1949 and grew up in Waterbury, Connecticut. Leibovitz’ first
started photography when her and her
family were stationed in the philippines during the Vietnam war, and
from then on she’s been with photography. She captures many beautiful
colors in her compositions, Annie’s
unique way of approaching her scenes
creates an extravagant shot.
