The Persecuted Church

After we had just finished reading "The Voice of the Martyrs" publication we realized anew the great persecution many
Christians are still facing regularly.
We have been challenged to pray for those who live in fear
and dread. Please join Ron and I in prayer on behalf of the lonely
and rejected throughout the world
A Prayer For the Persecuted Church
Lord, Your love increases my sensitivity to needy people in
today's world.
I bring my prayers to you:
For those who suffer pain...for those who live behind bars;
for those who have been maimed by violence; for those who have
been disgraced and wounded by other people's wrongdoing; for
those who have lost a loved one....
Help me, Father, to make myself available to those who
need help, that in practical and in spiritual ways I may convey Your
love to them. - Bryan J Leech
Father, may we never become complacent in our prayers for those
who face persecution in our world today.

Our Small Groups
Prophecy Group – In this study we look at reasons for 1/3 of the Bible's content being prophetic in nature. We also spend
some time looking at the prophecies themselves - both fulfilled, and yet to be fulfilled - from the Old and New Testaments.
We will meet every second Sunday night from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at the Wiseman' house: 105 Spadina Rd. West starting in
September.
Mature Adults – They meet every Monday night at 6:45 at Marlyn Starkey’s home at 460 unit 6 Beechwood Place, Waterloo. They are taking a break for the summer but they will begin again in September.
College and Careers Group – This group meets once a month for bible study, fun activities and Young Adult Worship Services. If you would like more information please email Mark or Tasha Mclimont. [email protected]
Youth Group – Youth groups meet three out of 4 Friday nights between 6:30 and 10:00pm They alternate between bible
study and activities. Email Gabby at [email protected]
Women’s Group – The ladies will be studying Joyce Meyer's book "Battlefield of the mind" on Wednesday evenings at the
church. For info contact Donna at [email protected]
Men’s Group — Becoming Bold Men Of God. If you have a need for fellowship, prayer, accountability and study in your life,
our men’s group addresses all these aspects while still having fun. If you are interested, get in touch with Pastor Stan by

Kids Connection A new small group for kids between the ages of 8 and 12, meeting in the church house every other Friday
night beginning May 8th. This gathering will include some nights for arts/crafts, games, music or practical learning labs. Other times it may just be a place to hang out with friends and read a good book or watch a movie. All kids within this age

Youth Group is an incredible time in our youths lives, And if you know
youth, or are a youth we highly encourage you to attend! Youth
Group provides youth the opportunity to learn, grow and experience
life together. Throughout our teen years, something that we are really
need is a great group of peers. Please consider joining Youth Group this
coming fall, And being a part of a great group of youth who are seeking

Prayer At Evangel
Prayer is found throughout the scriptures as a way to draw closer to God, to connect with one another and to petition the
Lord on behalf of our communities. When we gather in prayer, we are able to connect with one another and praise the
Lord, seeking His face and His will for our world. We live in a very broken world, a world that is searching for hope. We
have the hope that this world needs, and we have the honour to enter into His gates daily! Please join us as we come before our Father with hearts of praise, with hearts of brokenness, and with hearts of expectations. Let us join together in
prayer!
"They all joined constantly together in prayer…" (Acts 1:15)
"After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were filled with the
Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly" (Acts 4:31)
"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in
mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints." (Eph 6:18)

Getting to Know
Gabby Nordquist
Everyone can probably recognize Gabby as the girl from the
announcement videos, but I tell you she is far more than that! Gabby will
be going into Grade 11 this coming fall, and has stepped into quite a few
leadership roles throughout the past year. She has taken on leadership
roles within the youth group, and you can find her in the “Tech
Box” (sound booth) on Sunday morning’s, helping to ensure that Sunday
mornings flow smoothly! She also contributes to the children’s ministry
and you can find her there every other Sunday! Not only has she taken on
leadership roles within the church, but outside as well! She will be
participating this year for the third time at the Tim Horton’s Youth
Leadership Program. Where she will be portaging for a week!! (She is
extremely social, and extreme in sports as well!!). Lastly, you can ALSO
find her at St. Jacobs Farmer Market part time working for Halinda’s Meat!
Gabby is an amazing young woman, and is very excited to turn 16 on
August 23rd, which happens to be a Sunday!! Now you know a bit more
about the incredible young lady who does the announcements each week!
