Ephesians 6:11-18 Put on the
whole armour of God, that ye may be
able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and
blood, but against principalities, against
powers, against the rulers of the darkness of
this world, against spiritual wickedness in
high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the
whole armour of God, that ye may be able
to withstand in the evil day, and having
done all, to stand.

Deceit is Falsehood.
Psalm 119:118 Thou hast trodden down all them that err from thy statutes: for their deceit
is falsehood.
Deceit defined: Betray, causing to beguile, delude fraud, falsehood, to cheat, deal
falsely, lie.
Genesis 3:1-10 Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the
LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of
every tree of the garden? {2} And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit
of the trees of the garden: {3} But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden,
God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. {4} And the serpent
said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: {5} For God doth know that in the day ye eat
thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. {6}
And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the
eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat,
and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. {7} And the eyes of them both
were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and
made themselves aprons. {8} And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the
garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the
LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. {9} And the LORD God called unto Adam, and
said unto him, Where art thou? {10} And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was
afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. This is what Satan did to Eve. Satan
deceived Eve and does the same to you and I.
The Tongue is the Instrument of Deceit.
Romans 3:13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit;
the poison of asps is under their lips:
Asp defined: A very venomous serpent, whose poison is so subtle as to kill within a few hours
with a universal gangrene.
Jeremiah 8:17 For, behold, I will send serpents, cockatrices, among you, which will not be
charmed, and they shall bite you, saith the LORD.
Job 20:14 Yet his meat in his bowels is turned, it is the gall of asps within him.
Gall could be defined as any bitter or poisonous substance, such as the poison of
serpents. The poison mentioned in Romans 3:13 is a deceit that kills friendships,
marriages, homes, churches, and teens.
Genesis 2:16-17 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the
garden thou mayest freely eat: {17} But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou
shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
Did Adam and Eve die right there? Yes! They did. If they had not sinned, they would
of lived forever. Sin brings forth death. In a sense, they did die. They lived hundreds
of years after they ate of the fruit, but if they had not eaten of it, they would have
lived eternally in a perfect garden.
Deceit Comes from the Heart.
Mark 7:22-23 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye,
blasphemy, pride, foolishness: {23} All these evil things come from within, and defile
the man.
Characteristic of The Heart.
Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can
know it?

One Sunday morning, the pastor of a church noticed that a
little boy was staring up at the large plaque that hung in
the foyer of the church. The plaque was covered with
names, and small American flags were mounted on either
side of it. The little seven-year-old had been staring at the
plaque for some time, so the pastor walked up, stood
beside the boy, and said quietly, "Good morning, Alex."

and learn the operations." The son-in-law interrupted, "I
hate factories. I can't stand the noise."
"I see," replied the father-in-law. "Well then you'll work in
the office and take charge of some of the operations."
"I hate office work," said the son-on-law. "I can't stand
being stuck behind a desk all day."
"Wait a minute," said the father-in-law. "I just made you a
half owner of a profitable corporation, but you don't like
factories and won't work in a office. What am I going to do
with you?" "Easy," said the young man. "Buy me out!!"
Can’t You see I am Winning
"Good morning, Pastor," replied the young man, still
focused on the plaque. "What is this?" Alex asked.
A blonde walks up to a Coke machine and puts in a coin.
Out pops a coke. The blonde looks amazed and runs away
"Well, son, it's a memorial to all the young men and women
to get some more coins. She returns and starts feeding the
who died in the service." Soberly, they stood together,

winning."
A blonde goes for a job interview in an office. The
interviewer starts with the basics. 'So, miss, can you tell us
your age, please?'
The blonde counts carefully on her fingers for about 30
seconds before replying 'Ehhhh... 22!'
Missing Church
Preacher: “How come I never see you in church anymore,
Morris?” Morris: “There are too many hypocrites there,
Reverend.” Preacher: “Don't worry, Morris; there's always
room for one more.”
The interviewer tries another straightforward one to break
the ice. 'And can you tell us your height, please?'
SSsh! Be Quiet
The young lady stands up and produces a measuring tape
from her handbag. She then traps one end under her foot
and extends the tape to the top of her head. She checks
the measurement and announces, 'Five foot two!'
A mother was giving instructions to her three children as
she sent them into Sunday school, "And, why is it
necessary to be quiet in church?" Her son quickly
responded, "Because people are sleeping!"
This isn't looking good, so the interviewer goes for the real
basics. 'And, ehh, just to confirm for our records, your
name, please?'
Saying Grace
The blonde bobs her head from side to side for about
twenty seconds, mouthing something silently to herself,
before replying, 'Mandy!'
The interviewer is completely baffled at this stage, so he
asks, 'Just out of curiosity, miss. We can understand your
counting on your fingers to work out your age, and the
measuring tape for your height is obvious, but what were
you doing when we asked you your name?'
Ohh, that,' replies the blonde, 'I was just running through

A very successful businessman
My wife invited some people to dinner. At the table, she
turned to our six-year-old daughter and said, "Would you
like to say the blessing?" I wouldn't know what to say," she
replied. "Just say what you hear Mommy say," my wife
said. Our daughter bowed her head and said: "Dear Lord,
why on earth did I invite all these people to dinner?"
Watching Dad
A boy was watching his father, a pastor, write a sermon.
"How do you know what to say?" he asked.
"Why, God tells me."
"Oh, then why do you keep crossing things out?"

Psalm 53:1-3 To the chief Musician upon Mahalath,
Maschil, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart,
There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done
abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good. {2} God
looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if
there were any that did understand, that did seek God. {3}
Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become
filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
God Forbids Us to Deceive People.
Proverbs 24:28 Be not a witness against thy neighbour
without cause; and deceive not with thy lips.
Ephesians 4:25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every
man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of
another.
Leviticus 19:11 Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely,
neither lie one to another.
1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary
the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he
may devour:
The devil seeks after whom he may devour. He lies to you.
He will do what he can to get you to go against God’s Word.
You know what God says to do. Do it!
Satan says, “Awe, you surely won’t die!” “There are no lions
around here. Go ahead, no one is looking.” “Tell your parents
you are going to a friend’s house, then do what you know
they don’t want you to do. Go ahead, deceive them, nobody
will know.”
Even if you don’t get caught, God knows and sees
everything. The best thing to do is be honest with yourself
and others. Do right until Jesus comes. It is much, much
easier. Don’t let Satan deceive you.

Don’t Talk in Church
Six-year-old Angie and her four-year-old brother Joel were
sitting together during church services. Joel giggled, sang,
and talked out loud. Finally, his big sister had enough.
'You're not supposed to talk out loud in church.' 'Why? Who's
going to stop me?' Joel asked. Angie pointed to the back of
the church and said, 'See those two men standing by the
door? They're hushers.

When a new FBI agent is hired, he is given intensive
training. As part of the program, he is taught to watch for
counterfeit money. He makes a thorough study of the
genuine bills -- not the phonies -- so that he can spot the
fake currency immediately because of its contrast to the real
thing.
The child of God can learn a lesson from this. While it is
helpful to study false religions and be fully aware of their
dangerous dogmas, we should be so familiar with God's
Word that whenever we encounter error, we will spot it at
once. Today many are being led astray by cults and isms
because they don't recognize how they are being deceived.
The only way to prevent this is to indoctrinate believers with
the truth so they will be much more discerning.
For
example, if a person is solidly grounded in the teaching of
salvation by grace, he won't swallow the line of the legalists
who inject human works into the matter of being saved. If
he is well instructed about the person of Christ, he won't
accept the error of those who deny the Savior's deity.
Knowing the truth of the second coming of Jesus, he'll not be
swayed by those who distort the blessed hope, making it
something less than the personal, bodily return of the Lord.
A thorough knowledge of essential biblical doctrines is the
only way to detect their counterfeits!

Solution to Growing Water-Lily
Because the water-lily doubles its size every day and the
complete pool is covered after 20 days, half of the pool will
be covered one day before that, after 19 days.
Conclusion: After 19 days, half of the pool will be covered by
the water-lily.
Poor Preacher
The Baptist preacher just finished his sermon for the day and
proceeded toward the back of the church for his usual
greetings and handshaking as the congregation left the
church. After shaking a few adult hands he came upon the
seven year old son of one of the Deacons of the church.
"Good morning, Jonathan," the preacher said as he reached
out to shake Jonathan's hand.
As he was doing it, he felt something in the palm of
Jonathan's hand. "What's this?" the preacher asked.
"Money," said Jonathan with a big smile on his face, "It's for
you!"
"I don't want to take your money, Jonathan," the preacher
answered.
"I want you to have it," said Jonathan. After a short pause
Jonathan continued, "My daddy says you're the poorest
preacher we ever had, and I want to help you."
Practice What You Preach
One afternoon my 5-year-old daughter, Faith, and her
preschool brother, Alfred, were doing "homework." Alfred had
a habit of saying phrases like "I can't" or "I don't know how."
This particular afternoon, Faith responded with a Bible
verse she had learned at school: "I can do all things through
Christ who strengthens me."
Alfred replied, "Then you do it."

Ferry Dust
In my friend's Sunday school beginner class on Sointula
Island, British Columbia, the subject of fairies came up. She
began to assure the young class that fairies are not real, but
only make-believe. Suddenly, one little guy stood up and
stated emphatically, "Fairies are too real! My daddy rides a
ferry to Port McNeil every day!"
Chalk One Up
My youngest daughter, Angi, graduated from the university
and started teaching in an area college. One day, she went to
a nearby restaurant for lunch. The man who seated her
asked, "Are you a teacher?" Surprised, Angi replied, "Why
yes, I am." She enjoyed a warm feeling throughout the meal;
she looked like a teacher!
As she was leaving the restaurant, she asked the man,
"How did you know I was a teacher?"
"You have chalk dust on your seat," he replied.
Rabbit Ears
My husband raises domestic rabbits. Pertinent statistics-including the animal's gender--are tattooed in each rabbit's
ear.
At a recent animal swap, a young boy asked my husband if
he had any male rabbits for sale. After examining two
bunnies, my husband said yes. To which the boy said
excitedly, "Dad, that man can tell a boy rabbit from a girl
rabbit by looking in their ears!"
Eraser Hand
Our first-grader Tristina was having trouble distinguishing
right from left. "Just remember," I told her, "the hand that
you 'write' with is your 'right' hand." She seemed to
understand, so I logically asked, "So what would your other
hand be?"
To which Tristina gave the logical answer: "The one I erase
with."
The Impact of Church on Children
My dentist is a member of my church. One of his
employees has been considering coming to our church. She
has no relationship with the Lord. She and her husband
haven't been to church since they got married, and they're
quite skeptical of Christianity. Last month they came to our
Christmas Eve service bringing, for the first time in their lives,
their six-year-old and two-year-old daughters.
Later as they were watching the evening news, they saw a
feature on our church's Christmas Eve service. As soon as she
saw it, the six-year-old daughter said, "Look, Mommy, there's
our church." The impact you can have on kids, and the
impact they in turn can have on their parents, is
immeasurable..
