Since 1963 the Ella Baché College has
been nurturing the careers of thousands of
Beauty Therapists. We enjoy an unrivalled
reputation in educational excellence and
post graduate employment for our beauty
therapy graduates.
We are the only college in Australia that
can offer students the benefit of training,
integrated with a leading skincare brand
and a commercial business, with access
to a network of over 150 Ella Baché Salons
and selected Ella Baché David Jones
Counters nationally that can offer work
experience and jobs. In fact, over 70% of
students start their careers within the Ella
Baché network.
We proactively work with industry partners,
salons and other beauty therapy employers
to ensure that Ella Baché beauty therapy
education is at the forefront of the latest
trends and technology.
Our highly qualified and experienced
educators are dedicated to sharing their
passion for skincare and ensuring that our
students are inspired to be the best they
can be.
Ella Baché College is nationally accredited
as a Registered Training Organisation. We
are also affiliated with ITEC (International
Therapy Examination Council) which allows
our students to gain an internationally
recognised qualification in addition to their
Ella Baché College qualification.
A qualification from the Ella Baché College
offers a huge range of career choices in
the skincare and beauty related industries.
You can work in beauty salons; day spas,
wellness centres, destination resorts
and retreats, or travel the world working
on cruise ships; or for major skincare &
cosmetic brands. Graduates may work
in many roles such as training, sales or
marketing, or as a beauty journalist for
the growing number of publications and
online media, and many graduates go on
to manage and own their own successful
beauty salons. Your career in beauty
therapy is your ticket to international travel
and adventures.

DELIVERY MODE
Since 1963 the Ella Baché College of
Skin and Beauty Therapy has enjoyed
an unrivalled reputation in educational
excellence and post graduate employment
for our Beauty Therapists. We are the only
Beauty Therapy College in Australia with
a network of over 150 Ella Baché Salons
and selected Ella Baché counters in David
Jones that can provide work experience
and job placement.
At the Ella Baché College of Skin and Beauty
Therapy, learning involves both theoretical
and practical experiences. As well as
theory classes and activities, students gain
practical skills in the well-equipped salons
using commercial equipment and products.
We offer the Diploma of Beauty Therapy
as a full-time course for both national and
international students.
The Diploma of Beauty Therapy is a
comprehensive and highly acknowledged
qualification within the industry and will
provide you with the skills, knowledge and
experience to be a great beauty therapist
and industry leader.
CAREER PATHWAYS
With the Diploma of Beauty Therapy you
will have a broad range of career options
and opportunities within the industry from
salon management to working in beauty
salons, day spas, health retreats, hotels,
resorts and cruise liners. Careers in sales,
marketing and training roles are also areas
to consider and many graduates will go on
to open their own businesses.
ACADEMIC PATHWAYS
The Ella Baché College has an academic
pathway agreement with Victoria University.
Diploma graduates from the Ella Baché
College may be eligible to gain entry and
full credit recognition towards a Bachelor
of Health Science (Dermal Therapies) with
Victoria University. This will take 1 year off
these studies.
The College provides students with the
opportunity to practise on real customers
through the Ella Baché Student Salon. In
the student salon, students can experience
being able to provide the full range of
treatment options and services found in a
commercial salon. They meet clients and
provide an integrated, holistic experience
including
determining
their
needs,
developing a treatment plan and providing
a range of treatments such as waxing,
facials, hand and foot care and massage.
It is important to note that prior to practicing
on real customers, students are expected to
practise on each other. It is an essential part
of the learning experience at the College
that students perform practical treatments
on each other, including electrolysis. This
enables them to experience what is the
‘philosophy’ of beauty therapy, to feel and
understand what is being experienced by
customers and to engage in the intimate
communication
experience
between
therapist and client. This will always be
practised in accordance with industry
codes of practise and ethics.
salon before they can be awarded with their
qualification. Work experience will count
towards the assessment of the course.
Work experience will be done concurrently
with study and will commence at the end
of Trimester 2.

Our unique and innovative Stellar Learning Online Program has been designed for students needing the flexibility to access their
study remotely rather than attending on campus.

This
comprehensive
and
highly
acknowledged qualification within the
industry provides the skills, knowledge
and experience to be a professional beauty
therapist and industry leader.
The practical workshops provide students with
the opportunity to learn and be assessed on
the full range of treatment options and services
found in commercial salons such as waxing,
facials, hand and foot care and massage.
The new My Ella Baché student
learning portal provides students with
an interactive approach to blended
learning. Students can access the theory
components and learning materials
online but also have the opportunity to
attend 5 practical workshops throughout
the Diploma, where they’ll improve their
skills learning from our team of professional
Beauty Trainers.
Students can choose where they wish to
do their Practical Intensive Workshops – in
Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Perth.
INTENSIVE PRACTICAL WORKSHOPS
You’ll achieve your Beauty Diploma with the
Stellar Online Learning Program in just 2
years*, with the course duration divided into
6 trimesters, with a 5 compulsory practical
workshop component.
FA_DOB Course Guide_Aug 2016.indd 7
It is important to note that students are
expected to practise on each other during
these workshops. It is an essential part
of the learning experience that students
perform practical treatments on each other
druing these workshops. This enables them
to experience the ‘philosophy’ of beauty
therapy, to feel and understand what is
being experienced by customers and to
engage in the intimate communication
experience between therapist and client.
This will always be practised in accordance
with industry codes of practice and ethics.
A range of assessments are also conducted
at the workshops including written
assessments.
* Students may apply for a deferment for a
maximum of 12 months which is subject to
college approval.
WORK EXPERIENCE
All students are required to complete 150
hours of work experience in a commercial
salon environment. This will enable
students to gain invaluable practical
experience and is a mandatory requirement
of the qualification. Work experience can
be undertaken at any salon; it is not a
requirement that work experience be
completed at an Ella Baché salon. Please
note: Ella Baché salons are independently
owned and operated; as such, not all
salons can support Stellar Distance
Learners with work experience and
job placement.
